>this is what the english call music

Yes we have. It's just not played as often as Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova anymore.

It's been in tv and movies though, like that episode of Chuck or that one Netflix show with the kids

Literally who

That Boomer D&C sure backfired

Oasis hits in order of popularity in America:
>Literally everyone, even zoomers know them:
Wonderwall
Champagne Supernova

>If you're over 25/30 and grew up listening to a lot of 90s music, you probably know these:
Don't Look Back in Anger
Live Forever
Don't Go Away

>If you were big into specifically alternative rock in the 90s, you probably remember these:
Morning Glory
Supersonic
D'You Know What I Mean

>That one hit you'd only know if you were listening to a lot of alternative radio in 2008
The Shock of the Lightning

My favourite band. They have so many better songs than their famous ones. Fucking attitude to go with top tier massive tunes.

>Non-weebs never knew that Oasis was used as an anime OP

This thread was ok yesterday, just not today.

>Fucking attitude
you mean acting like whiny bitches with thin skin

I'm 26 and I only know the first song
They were literally a one hit wonder don't kid yourself

>tfw you realise the lyrics are nonsense

I wish I was American so I could get away from fucking Oasis

Mondays were always better

>Oasis? best band in history period.

Nah, they were big back in the day

>all their songs literally sound the same.
>not a single songs has any unforgettable melody
>all their songs sound exactly the same, same guitar riffs, same tempos.

periodt*

>Oasis
>One hit wonder
Lol u ‘avin a laff m8

Champagne Supernova is a popular song. I'm sitting here with my girlfriend and said "some fag said Oasis is a one-hit wonder" and it actually kind of pissed her off.

No they weren't. Nobody at my school listened to Oasis. Everybody listened to Pearl Jam or Smashin Pumpkins.

30 y/o Murican boomer, here. I've only ever heard Wonderwall and I grew up listening to a lot of rock radio.

I knew of Oasis, but I never realized they were Rolling Stones level big in the UK until I read about them on the internet.

I agree with this. For some reason I listened to morning Glory a lot in high school.

OI YOU GOT A LOICENSE TO LOOK LIKE JOHN LENNON

I literally heard this and Live Forever and Champagne Supernova on Siriusxm today

Not even Champagne Supernova? That song was literally played into the ground, more than Wonderwall even.

Where are you from? Because I'm sure Oasis probably wasn't played nearly as much in secondary/rural markets as in cities or on the coasts.

They were probably bigger on MTV overall than on radio too.

I meant in the UK

nobody cares about the uk

I live in the middle of flyover country and know all of these songs. Like how the fuck do you grow up not experiencing any Oasis songs on the radio, near other people, on TV or friends/family playing it?

I don't even mean that as in "holy shit you're missing out on fantastic music" sense, it was just plastered everywhere for years at a time.

based

I remember I had their first two albums on my old ipod when I was a kid and got pissed because the headphone jack got broken.

Some people just didn't pay attention to music

i knew someone who was convinced smashing pumpkins only had two big songs

like did you even live through the 90s? they were everywhere for like 5 - 6 years

Oasis are amazing as a teenager and then just okay drinking music as an adult
