Godzilla: Kino of the Monsters?
Early critic reviews of Godzilla: King of the Monsters are all described as "VERY POSITIVE". Seems like kino is back on the menu, boys. Also, general Godzilla/kaiju thread.

Based Godzilla. Will for sure steal away the early summer box office
Anybody have the leaked IMAX "Ghidorah awakening" clip that's not the shitty R*ddit link?
Unsurprising.
Not saying it's gonna be shit, but it's probably the usual sthick. The pre-screeners probably signed some sort of an NDA that doesn't allow them to post negative reviews before a set date. That's why literally everyone is positive, they're the only ones allowed to voice their opinion.
Kaiju kino confirmed
Hes a big guy
Is this true for all movies? Pretty sure there have been negative early reviews before.
Not all of them, but usual enough to be common.
In this case, the fact that 100% of the reviews from pre-screenings are positive is a smoking gun. You're probably only gonna get a full spectrum of reactions once review embargo goes down proper.
That said, i'm hoping that it reviews good and does good, we need something that ain't capeshit in the tentpole blockbuster ecosystem.
Monsterverse Godzilla is 108 meters tall.

Also, weirdly enough, Rodan is smaller than the male MUTO.

Is Gojira really getting only 15 minutes of screen time in this movie?
Supposedly all the kaiju combined is 80 minutes.
Blessed thread.
That's nonsense.
You won't even get that much screentime devoted to major setpieces, never mind on screen monster action. Realistically speaking, we're looking at like 50 minutes of action sequences, with say - 25 of those minutes having the creatures on screen. Expecting anything more is is exceedingly delusional and just setting yourself for a massive disappointment.
Hope that’s true. If so this is gonna be kaijukino
I'm going to see it and I truly am looking forward to it but I do get the feeling that it will bomb. The few people I've talked to don't seem too excited or won't see it at all.
This.
Honestly speaking, it would be downright hard do anything beyond a half hour mark without it getting repetitive and boring.
This guy is a Godzilla hyper-autist and in this vid about a Wondercon panel, he confirms the 80-minute thing.
>implying you can't do creative things with 20 different kaiju
Hmm, there's quite a bit of repetition of the same canned talking points here, doubt.jpg. I hope it really is good though.
What's the best Showa Godzilla?
