Snoke’s purpose was to bring Ben to the dark side, his death meant that the rule of two was fulfilled and that Kylo Ren became the new supreme leader, unlike the Night King, that was only an obstacle on the way and didn’t have any big consequences on Arya’s development as a character, even if you don’t like TLJ you have to admit Snoke’s death meant something, an equivalent to the Night King’s situation would’ve been Finn, Rose or Poe killing him.

Reset the universe.
If they wrote the ending of 3 better, it would have made sense. The universe of Kingdom Hearts was fucked up and fragmented long before the main games, Xehanort was basically fixing it with a big old reset.

But it turns out Xehanort was basically being encouraged to fuck with the universe by bigger powers, setting up for the next arc while Xehanort dies and goes to heaven to play chess.

Xehanort got a great ending, what are you talking about?

Kingdom Hearts is an incoherent mess that has no purpose or vision. It's on the same level as your average fanfiction.net story.

In terms of writing quality, Xehanort edges out NK because the Naruto tier "yeah sorry" half-assed redemption despite all the awful shit he's done ancillary to pursuing his goal (including killing Kairi mere moments ago) that makes people who wanted to cave his smug face drop their jaws and throw up their hands because the story wants you to feel bad for such a terrible human being and the other characters just run with it. NK was just a mere anti-climax, but was done in service of D&D trying to generate claps and get out of their HBO contract ASAP to work on Star Wars. So it's terrible for a different reason.

I agree, Episodes 7 and 8 are pretty different thematically speaking and feel disjointed, mostly due to the fact that KK and JJ wanted to play it safe, while Rian Johnson wanted to make something more experimental, I think that TLJ would’ve been well received if it was a spinoff with characters that weren’t already stablished.
