Only idiots who haven't seen enough films think lotr is the best film trilogy ever made.
It suffers from bad worldbuilding (hey look another empty plain of grass, a mountain and then the capital city of men behind it, completely isolated and surrounded by more grass), stupid asspulls (what if the army of the dead just killed everyone?) and stupidity (*watches as Legolas casually murders 30 people while doing ballet* "that still only counts as one!" hahahahaha).
It's impressive, especially for its accomplishments in cgi and scale. But it's hardly the greatest of all time.
