That's nifty and charming but a lot of those designs are more silly than scary, even if they're accurate. I think Lovecraft monsters ought to be approached with some artistic flourish instead of rigidly adhering to Lovecraft's descriptions, since afterall, he made a point to say that they couldn't ever adequately be described. It was only ever: "this and that feature is reminiscent of so-and-so but falls short of capturing the true appearance" His monsters have always been up to interpretation and that's where it shines, if you've got a fantastic visual artist as the interpreter. HR Giger comes to mind.

You raise a salient point.

The fact remains we need more monster rape. Nobody will watch your kino if it's a straight horror movie. Insert one badly lit monster-on-hot-blond sequence that lasts less than a minute and you'll create a cult classic a la Galaxy of Terror.

Gakuen Shinshoku XXX of the Dead.

It's some Mexican flick, and that's the only scene with anything interesting going on in it.

Well, you have to soften the young races up a bit. Once you have their libidos their hearts and minds -- and sanity -- are sure to follow.

Lessee... what other Lovecraftian horrors do I have here... ah. Here's a thrilling scene from Humanoids of the Deep, an old Roger Corman flick.

This is as close as we ever get to Deep One romance on the big screen, unfortunately. We could do a lot better now. Imagine Galaxy of Terror redone with proper lighting and decent CGI.

Cold Skin was good lovecraftesque kino with a deep one romance.

Not a fair comparison. That's man AS the monster. Also, it doesn't show you much. Also, you don't get to see boobs. Human boobs. I maintain that monster-on-screaming-nubile-human-female is much hotter.

uhhhhhh, sauce?
