The science is women will have weaker core muscles due to the space required for their baby factory. The larger pelvis also means that area of core muscle is spread over a larger area, thus weakened. Human muscle is extremely inefficient energy to work wise and women will have it even worse.

Another example of this is tasers. The pain from tasers is caused by forcing rapid muscle contraction, but the same voltage will have less of an effect on a woman because they will have less strong muscle to force to contract. Hence why women can shrug off a taser that will put a man on his ass.

But you don’t need to tase a woman because most any male can just push them over.

Of course size and reach difference would make it difficult for a smaller woman to actually connect against a grown man but strength is not the relevant factor here.

None of that would actually stop a person who is trying to kill/rape you. The only effective self-defense regime is one that is meant to slow an attacker and escape.

But they’re nice in how they will give women a measure of false confidence, as this means they are less likely to focus on escape, thus, are easier to catch.
