grasskino
how come no one, not even malik fans, like this movie? I've seen and liked all his movies except for this and I'm scared to try.
A Hidden Life by Terry Malick.
That's some nice grass.
mallick made a film about some austrian guy who refused to join the nazis and was killed
I like it.
I have seen all of his films except for The New World and To The Wonder and i like Song to Song. I didn't like KoC but i really enjoyed StS.
>More Nazis films
Even more overdone than capeshit. I'll give it a miss.
>god
>internal monologue
>shots of grass and sky
>hand slightly touching
>character staring at the horizon
>no script
>vague conclusion
here's your Malick flick bro
pretentious self absorbed garbage
HERE WE FUCKING GO
3 HOURS OF WET GRASS AND LENS FLARES KINOS BACK LADS
I doubt Malick will go with Nazis are bad. It will be more about strength of faith. It will also be about deep love of the main character for his kids and wife.
This one has a script, lot of his films had a script.
>It's got an actual script
"A Hidden Life will have a more structured narrative than Malick's previous works according to the filmmaker, who stated, "Lately – I keep insisting, only very lately – have I been working without a script and I’ve lately repented the idea. The last picture we shot, and we’re now cutting, went back to a script that was very well ordered."
Malikinos back
I think it will be like The Thin Red Line, The New World and The Tree of Life. It has a script but he still shot a shit ton of footage and then changes the film during editing.
Badlands is my favourite by him but Thin Red Line worked so well for that way of making films
Badlands was his only film where he fully followed the script i think. My favourites are The Tree of Life and The Thin Red Line. I'm hoping that A Hidden Life will be more like those and less like his last 3 films.
its like symphony of colorful scenes
why was the night manager so based btw?
kys
1. To the Wonder - 8/10
2. Knight of Cups - 7/10
3. Tree of Life - 6/10
4. Song to Song - 2/10
I'm guessing this one is going to be a 4-5/10
PLEB FILTERED KEK COWARD BITCH
Aren't we all
I think Days of Heaven had one but he threw it out the window. I remember Richard Gere being angry about it.
>mallick
Oh so it's shit
Yes The Thin Red Line, The New World and The Tree of Life also had a script but he worked on them just like he worked on Days Of Heaven. He just used it as a vague blueprint and then made the film in post.
Gee, I hope there's lots of meandering shots of nature along with shitty editing and the camera swirling around.
Malick is a fucking hack and makes movies like that of a pretentious first year film student.
!!!FACT!!!
>deep love of the main character for his kids and wife to get blacked
Yuck.
never seen any of his movies, which one should i watch right now?
Start from the beginning so Badlands.
If you liked KoC you will enjoy this one too.
This one is supposed to be more like his first two
looks like kino is back on the menu goys
>he can watch kino of this level for the first time
you lucky fuck get on with it
why are there so many CTM imposters roaming around lately?
giving up our scything duties to the mechanical jew was the worst mistake humanity ever made. easily the dumbest thing we have ever done or ever will do.
I always hear that Malick's films are pretentious yet everytime when someone asks why, the person who called them pretentious shows that he didn't even get what was the film about.
N O S C R I P T
>the king
The GOD you mean
Exactly. Pretentious is such a capeshitter word
In 'The House That Jack Built' the Elysian Fields are potrayed as a meadow with people scything in it.
There's nothing to "get". Malick thinks that random shots and swinging a camera around with a wide angle lens somehow gives his shit meaning. He's a fucking moron who thinks the shit he makes is DEEP. Basically Malick is to art house cinema what Zack Snyder is to capeshit!!!FACT!!!
How do you know what he thinks? His films definitely explore some themes and it's not only by swinging a camera around with a wide angle lens. Also his swinging actually tells story and showcases the characters and their emotions, it's called visual storytelling.
