I know basically nothing about Castlevania outside of the WHAT IS A MAN meme, and I understood pretty much all of it except some of the vampire politics towards the very end.

I don’t hate the show for ‘le ebil church’ shenanigans. I hate it because it flat out just fucking sucks and it’s boring. Fucking godawful dialogue and writing, obnoxious voice acting, and a awful animation and art style for the most part except for a fight scene here and there.

The humour sucked because it was obvious that they recorded all the dialogue with each separate actor at different times, so they had no chemistry between them and it wasn't natural or well-timed as a result. Typical problem in animation.

I just like the whole peasant dialogue, it felt authentic.

I enjoyed most if not all Dracula scenes too. I'm not judging you for not liking the trio bickering, it's not high art, but I thought it fit the style. It's a videogame adaptation, that kind of talk seems in line.

You keep bringing this up, but the second season showed that Holy Water is literally just a spell that ANYONE can perform, including an undead litch being controlled by a vampire who's body had previously explicitly been foresaken by god. Even if a priest blesses it, in this universe its no different a spell than anything Drac does.

They bungled everything about the second season, changing everything about the main heroine, how little our protagonists did, to how boring the politics were, to how meaningless all this filler was when we could easily have spent more time with our leads doing stuff, they fucked it up.

Not particularly but I admired it for being different among the absolute bog of western animation.

It shits the bed 2/3 the way through S2 and proceeds to kill the interesting villain and replace him with two less interesting (but more diverse!) ones.

There is no reason whatsoever to continue to S3.

Good animation and good action scenes, but there is too much talking that does nothing and some parts of the story go no where. If you are OK with snoozing and watching when the action starts then watch it, if not just look at all the action scenes on youtube.
