>the best show on HBO
>cringy English accents
can you guys stop shilling this crap?
No I'm sorry we cant.
Your the 1% who doesn't like it.
someone edit this with the chernobyl logo
>mfw you can book a tour to Chernobyl
p-perfectly s-safe, right?
Was there a cute reactor-tan posted yet?
>her hair is already falling out
totally healthy to live in a radiated zone btw
I found a faggotry meter and checked it with your post. It appears to have been maxed out. 100% faggotry.
By the way the criticality accident involving Louis Slotin in the 1940's involved a 'flash of blue light' so it would seem that the chrenkov effect CAN happen in the open air.
Can a smartfag explain exactly what’s happening in this picture?
Yes.
definitely not a piece of reactor core
what are some Russian movies where people that would have spoken a different language spoke Russian?
Also wouldn't you rather they be more relatable to the target audience? Wouldn't them having weird Russian accents just make them easier boogiemen for Anglos to think of as being different than them?
I wish there was an image that had each selected.
>foxes can't die
set of images*
Well said. I also think trying to get a bunch of westerners to sound like they are from there just wouldn't work well. I'd rather focus on the story than someone who might be a good actor that all the sudden sounds like a bad Natalia from 007.
Here's a brief bit of a long lecture with the technical details.
For any other nerds who want the explanation without sitting through a bunch of half-assed hyperbolic documentaries.
50 thousand people used to live here, now its a ghost town. never seen anything like it!
this guy literally talks like a southpark character
tfw when I visited pripyat 4 years ago
kino, thanks
what was the face user?
Is it a tourist trap now? t-shirts and shit?
Thats ionized air, same shit happened in Chernobyl, there was a blue pillar coming out from the building and straight up into the sky
You found zakahev's arm ?
>only 1 episode in
>script copied directly from wikipedia
>Yea Forums thinks they can hold the momentun
Get ready to be disappointed. The mary sue joins the cast next episode and makes everything about vaginas.
Poor sons of bitches :(
It was good while it lasted. I'm not expecting it to hold the momentum because the night of the disaster is of course going to be the most intense, but, there are still a lot of interesting things to show. But, yeah, the Mary Sue Risk is at 3.6rad
The tiny piece on his hand is quite radioactive, possibly a piece of the graphite surrounding the reactor or something similar. I can't quite tell what the units are, you can see it's Sv/h (Sieverts per hour) but there's some symbol in front of the Sv which could be either micro or mili. A small piece like this wouldn't be too dangerous on your hand or close to you but you would be fucked if you breathed it in or swallowed it. A small piece like that lodged in your lungs could bombard you with alpha particles for decades, slowly poisoning you.
Consult the pic related to see the dosage chart and what effects there might be.
Very cool
Hows that? Explain
He's referencing this review:

kek look at this review. this broad is too dumb to do some basic research and criticizes the show for her own stupidity:
theguardian.com
It's fascinating seeing how you IRA shills operate.
maximum kino
extreme paranoia is a sign of mental illness get checked
They're an actual paid shill that is working to do counter messaging about this show. They're pretty much going to be doing stuff like this in all of the threads from now on.
This is the reason why we haven't really had as big of a meme appreciation culture here since 2014. There's always active subverters and shills hopping into and pulling apart threads and preventing circlejerk meme hiveminds from happening if it involves messaging that doesn't serve their interests.
Basically if it isn't some culture wars bullshit, race baiting, or sex agitating we'll never be able to just enjoy stuff. Particularly not when it's about "controversial" subjects like literally anything ever involving Russian history or bureaucracy etc.
And they're bad actor types that operate dishonestly, so even if they're not being paid, they never make it clear what they're actually doing. They'll do stuff like and in every thread.
It's a very fascinating thing to watch happen as there was a relatively spontaneous meme explosion from a bunch of the oldfags about this show, and then the shills started to get nervous and now they're like always racing to fill as much of the first page as possible with culture wars scandal bait.
Holy hell. What is going on in this review? I went in with essentially zero advance knowledge of the disaster but I didn't have this experience at all. I feel like she's focusing on entirely the wrong things and the points she raises don't make any sense.
>literally saying "you're delusional go to the infirmary" when called out, but unironically
fantastic memes.
T H I S
the subversion is real
the tripfag and his many split personalities spend far too much time here for it to be just casual trolling
also interesting thing happened a few threads ago when someone mentioned David Brock and the Democrats internet tactics the shills suddenly went silent
have sex
same. she needs it all spelled out for her. just when you thought the guardian couldn't get any worse.
I just want to see some sick makeup work as the radiation sickness sets in and people burn in slow motion.
you people are honestly braindead if you think theres some massive democrat conspiracy to subvert this show lmao. get real.
10/10
based and realpilled
Who is paying these shills? Glow in the dark cia niggers?
Unironically the state department.
Why would feedwater have radiation in it? The reactor has water that flows through and heats up under pressure and then it transfers it to the feedwater that is at low pressure and therefore can boil to make steam? Do I have that right? Then why would the feedwater have any radiation under their presumed circumstances of a hydrogen tank blowing?
burst pipes
how many hours until torrents US niggers?
So if the high pressure side had a break that led to the high pressure water leaking into the low pressure feed water?
What?
ONLY 3.6 ROENTGEN!
NOT GREAT, NOT TERRIBLE
BTW, GLORIOUS GOMMUNIST PEOPLE'S METER ONLY GOES UP TO 3.6 :^)
WE MUST THANK THE MEMORY OF GREAT LEADER VLADIMIR I. LENIN FOR KEEPING THE PEOPLE FROM UNDERMINING THE FRUITS OF THEIR LABOR
BTW, ROLLING YOUR EYES AT MARYSUES IS CLEARLY A PRO-RUSSIA SENTIMENT AND OBVIOUSLY THE POSITION OF THE VAST CONSPIRACY OF IRA SHILLS
>Mary Sue Risk is at 3.6
LMAO
AND THE 1000.00 METER BLEW UP RIGHT WHEN WE TURNED IT ON
IMAGINE IF YOU WILL, AN ALTERNATE REALITY WHERE HBO DOESN'T FEEL OBLIGATED TO INSERT HAMFISTED SJW EMPOWERMENT #YASQUEEN CHARACTERS TO THE DETRIMENT OF EVERYTHING THEY MAKE
CHERNOBYL COULDA BEEN AS GOOD AS EP 1 ALL THE WAY THROUGH
BUT SOMETHING LIKE THAT WOULD BE DELUSIONAL IN THE CURRENT YEAR, REPORT TO INFIRMARY COMRADE
I don't think RBMKs are pressurized reactors like the normal US ones, RBMKs use graphite instead of water as the moderator and uses boiling water as the coolant, has a large positive thermal coefficient of reactivity, that increases heat generation when coolant water temperatures increase. This makes the RBMK design less stable than pressurized water reactors. One of the main reasons this happened was that the water around the reactor wasn't under pressure so it was able to boil off and then with the carbon moderators in there that increased the power generation.
I THINK but don't know that the turbines are powered directly from the water in the RBMK. Trying to find a diagram to see one way or another.
>Trying to find a diagram
check this
Update 1.
Yeah, from what I can find the RBMKs "feedwater" was actually running through the reactor. So if it had a crack in it, that water would be irradiated.
Update 2.
Here is a normal US or Chinese style one. High pressure side in the reactor, and then the steam is generated in a separated system that is low pressure.
Thanks, I'll take a look.
Whoops, meant the post that is pointing, with the imgur link
>This show, in less than a week, has inspired countless anons to learn at least the basics, if not the technicals, of nuclear reactors.
Kind of dumb running the irradiated steam through the turbine instead of keeping it in a more contained loop.
not me though
thanks for the read
Why don't you make your own nuclear power plant, comrade? You'll have plenty of time to think about it in a Siberian gulag.
lol
It is safe in the sense that if you follow precautions you'll live. Radiation is something that builds up over time. Unless you go camping right outside the reactor or go take a selfie with the elephant's foot, one afternoon there won't kill you
Yep.
Also taught me the specifics of how the meltdown occurred. Unforseen high-energy outbursts when you're fucking with high-heat sources are a bitch.
baste
t. somebody who has never been there
Eat a dick, fag. You know shit about the damn place. There are people who lived there 1 week (as close to the reactor as possible). It's even on youtube.
why are you so upset?
Does the word half-life have any meaning to you? No, it's not a video game. They also fucking cleaned the plant and city as best they could before building the sarcophagus.
That meter is a Gamma Scout GS-Standard and it measures in microsieverts per hour, so at 629.9 uSv/h, about 10 minutes of exposure is equal to a dental x-ray.
my guess is they're worried because 4channel is one place where people with legit nuclear knowledge can meet and discuss these things into autistic depths
combine that fact with the fact that the site is teeming with "desperate incels", "far right neo nazis" and "russian psyops" and you get fear of nuclear discussions on Yea Forums
basically they're ruining these threads because they're afraid someone here might build a dirty bomb
Then why not funnel some of that money/influence to stop HBO from making it in the first place? No show, no discussion whatsoever.
>implying it costs any money or influence to shit up threads on 4channel
the tripfag does it for 0.02$ per post
he makes below minimum wage for 14 hours of shitposting
far cheaper than spending capital, monetary or political, to pressure HBO into anything
also the show itself isn't the problem, the problem is "dangerous" autists with nuclear knowhow congregating and discussing (and to a degree fetishizing) a nuclear disaster
WAIT
is steam what makes the energy? well, I feel like and idiot now
you're a dumbass
go back to infowars or whatever fucking rabbithole you accidentally jumped out from
>basically they're ruining these threads because they're afraid someone here might build a dirty bomb
these aren't Americans doing this. They clearly don't speak english. And the whole purpose of active measures is that they WANT people to be building dirty bombs.
The people turning everything into culture wars autism just want everyone bickering and infighting instead of memeing about how messaging strategy works metacritically.
>reactor makes heat
>heat turns water into steam
>steam piped into turbines
>steam turns turbines
>turbines produce electricity
all power plants operate on the same principle (except solar), its just what you use to turn the turbine - either the wind in wind turbines, or burning fuel to boil water in coal, oil and nuclear plants
Yeah, the reactor heats the water, produces steam that turns a turbine. It's basically the same system as a coal fire plant just a different fuel source.
>that 3
the interest that slavs have for caligraphy always surprises me
Nuclear reactors are a very fancy way of boiling water so it goes through a turbine. A lot of other anons expected something else like converting radiation into electricity.
Seriously, is it SO hard for HBO to cast slavic actors who can speak english? They did so 15+ years ago for The Sopranos and it really made those sub-plots so much better.
why the fuck do they always hire english actors for any and every non-english speaking country?
>t. satan worshiping cia nigger
lol @ your life tranny
Surprisingly good summary when I was a kid:
youtu.be
who cares, faggot
Does anyone remember that Canadian kids show where they had an episode on building a nuclear reactor?
iodyne
>Seriously, is it SO hard for HBO to cast slavic actors who can speak english?
yeah your public education is shit. 3% of your population is what is considered "fluent" at English. Only 20% can read it.
Compare that to England, which is everyone, and scandinavia, where it's part of their public education.
You guys have kind of actively refused to be part of "the west" for the last 100 years.
where do they spell it iodyne?
Y O U R__T I M E__T O__S H I N E
just go with it, dude
How does iodine even help? I mean when you get the initial blast of radiation doesn't it fuck up your genes to the point where they are unrepairable? Does iodine just help neutralize something that was ingested or something?
>genes
it's celldivision, you testicle
>How does iodine even help?
lol magic probably
The thyroid gland in our throat absorbs some molecule (can't remember what). When you take iodine it floods your gland with non-irradiated molecules so that the irradiated ones can't be absorbed, thus protecting you from thyroid cancer.
It also helps slightly AFTER you've been irradiated, I believe, but not sure how.
If you didn't get fucked by inonizing particles, your greatest risk is from random radioactive garbage, chiefly iodine, strontium and caesium.
By taking iodine pills you saturate your system, which means radioactive iodine can't bind to receptors.
According to another user in an older thread, red wine contains strontium, which has roughly the same effect.
Caesium though, I have no idea how you can avoid it.
take it seriously
You don't know shit, do you?
Can you explain comrade? The radiation fires through your body and knocks electronics loose, right? I was reading that article about Ouchi (the guy in Japan who died and they documented every day of his death) and they said his DNA "blueprint" was gone.
Thanks.
>knocks electronics loose
ehe heheheh ehehehehehehe HEHEEHEGHEHEHHEEEHEHEHJEEJ
electrons*, whoops. Although apparently transistors don't like gamma rays either.
I want to hug Chernobyl-Chan
ok, now it's funny again
Don't apologize. It makes you look weak.
>4channel is one place where people with legit nuclear knowledge can meet and discuss these things into autistic depths
>dude imagine if you cum in the open reactor wouldn't it be cool
Despite being only 3.6 of the roentgen..
Not my image, just saw it in a thread and thought it could work for a card
My mum used to tell me that. I still say I'm sorry all the time.
What game are you playing?
Admitting to your mistakes doesn't make you weak.
Will the be at the end of EP2?
youtube.com
can you decide on a general name or simply use Chernobyl? It makes filtering the catalog a pain when you change the title every thread.
Do you mean what is? Magic: The Gathering, the first trading card game.
just add more filters, dumbdumb
It does when its an obvious mistake that doesn't make the post incomprehensible.
refusing to acknowledge when you were mistaken about something and refusing to "apologize" makes you leak weak m8. that makes you incapable of growth or learning.
Just checked it out properly, it floods the thyroid with regular stable Iodine to protect against radioactive isotopes of Iodine like I-131, which beta decay and fuck up your gland if you eat contaminated food and stuff like that.
I think there's meant to be a couple other things that can be taken medically to help try to cleanse the body of other radioactive isotopes, but obviously considering how infrequent radioactive fallout is there's not a lot known, and it's a lot of effort. Vodka isn't one of them by the way, that's mostly a myth.
>Chernobyl-Chan will never laugh at your pitiful attempts to contain her
>she will never hold you to her glowing, uranium plasma body in a flesh vaporizing hug
>she will never spread her love to all of continental Europe
It hurts, man
No, I won't go to the reactor roof. Draw your sword!
What was the order of things that happened after the fire was no longer burning? Clear the roof of debris, then dump on it with the helicopters for a few days? When did they dive and dig the tunnel underneath?
Trying to get a picture of what will happen in each episode.
I keep thinking I saw it some promo but can't find in which one.
or the part where literally robot suicide
That female character would be not ____ but not ________
>earth protected from sun's radiation by strong magnetic field
>make suit of armor out of industrial strength magnets
>walk around impervious to radiation
did they just not want to waste perfectly good magnets on poor slav peasants or...?
Not that one. That's the one designed to land on the Moon by Moscow and it worked for a while. The German one committed suicide after it was turned on.
>The German one committed suicide after it was turned on.
"If you only knew how bad things really are..."
That one worked, it just couldn't get into the tight spots. Time to sacrifice more people!
yeah, wrong image
>“At the beginning, we thought that in some extremely contaminated zones we would use robots,” wrote Igor Kostin in his 2006 photo-book ‘Confessions of a Reporter’. “We had even sent a very sophisticated German robot to the plant’s roof. But he refused to obey - the radioactivity had disturbed even the machines. Afterward, he rolled over to the edge of the roof and threw himself from the top of the plant. One might have thought he had jumped.” Hardened vehicles like the STR-1 survived the radiation, but then became tangled in the debris.
Here's an improvised "robot" they used which is a tractor with lead paneling.
MOMMY
youtube.com
holy fuck kino counter maxed out at 200
Another robot that was used. No mention if it was from Japan or Germany.
this month will be great
>Aww Reactor-chan, you're so lewd, we can see all your insides~
can practically HEAR the radiation
Bulldozers were too heavy to use on the damaged roof in case anyone asks.
Soviet hippy van reporting for duty.
The fuck you on about nigga? The clean-up is even more fucked up.
Can't wait to see my liquidator boys in action.
Based Benicio del Toro saving Europe
Isn't this just a tank with a crane on top of it?
>people on a state level have to manually go through threads about people slapping their dicks on the elephants foot because they might just be planning on building a nuke in their moms basement
He hasn't listened to the speech in the teaser after E1 and I pity him for not knowing what kino is in store. youtube.com
T-34's base can be very useful and versatile
doublethink the show
Reactor chan, your core is showing! It looks so warm and covered in graphite...
UGH IDIOT TOXIC MALE
FIRE HIS INSTITUTIONALLY PRIVILEGED ASS AND PROMOTE THE OPPRESSED BUT BRILLIANT IODINE LADY AS SHE SO RIGHTLY DESERVES IN THIS STORY
ALSO PAY ATTENTION VIEWER, INTERNALIZE THE LESSON FROM THIS FICTIONAL INTERACTION AND BASELESSY EMPOWER ALL WOMEN BY DISPARAGING ALL MEN THROUGHOUT SOCIETY
THE PATRIARCHY WHO BUILT CIVILIZATION IS CLEARLY INCOMPETENT AND STRONG WOMEN MUST BE PUT IN THEIR PLACE INSTEAD
WHAT COULD GO WRONG? MARYSUES WORK IN REALITY JUST LIKE THEY DO IN FANTASY RIGHT :^)
t. HBO 2019
I love this man
Can't wait for the miners to show up.
>IIE, don't look inside me engineer-kun!
kek is it the same actor?
Somebody pls post the Bernie 2020 pic
>BTW make sure you're only up there for about 90 seconds or you'll die slowly and painfully
Elephants Foot when
Yup. Jamie Sives.
brainlet here. why are there so many chefs?
You mean heroes.
>they literally called these guys bio-robots
and people actually unironically think communism is anything but pure evil
the hats are stylish
Reactor hungers
Because graphite is FUCKING RAW
core-chan is a growing (and glowing) girl and needs tasty food to grow up to her full potential
>soviet robot
>its a tractor
cant make this shit up
>With the immediate worry of the flooded basement taken care of, the next problem was the earth beneath Chernobyl. Miners were brought in to dig a 150 meter tunnel underneath Unit 4, where a special refrigeration device would be installed below the building, in an attempt to cool the core. Scientists worried that pneumatic drills would stress the building’s fragile foundations, so the miners were ordered to dig their tunnel by hand. They worked 24 hours a day and achieved their goal in a month, but many of them later died from exposure, and their refrigeration device was never used - the core cooled down by itself.
this show is scary what did you people make me watch
>There was no alternative: men would work in an environment so hazardous that even the machines had died. “The best robots,” explains a bitter Nikolai Steinberg, Dyatlov’s predecessor, and the man who took over as plant manager from Bryukhanov, “were people.”
>Wearing hand-sewn, lead-plated suits that could only be used once (the lead absorbed too much radiation to be re-used) as their only protection, the men called themselves Bio-Robots.
>tfw the air is so spicy with radiation the robots gain self awareness and immediately kill themselves upon computing the meaningless nature of existence
If only they were as good at bulding reactors as in making monuments
>Formerly Chuckwater's
why do they taste metal?
they're at chernobyl
shit
fuck you
>dyatlov's feed and seed water (formerly 3.6 roentgens)
Why would looking at the light from the core kill you?
>c-comrade-chan my control rods are moving on their own!
I don't know of many other places where people would have this sense of self-sacrifice for the good of others.
No one really knows but a lot of people who had radiation poisoning reported getting a metallic taste in their mouth.
Really good Kino, crazy how authentic Soviet the makers went
Comrades!
BBC did a piece for those starving for the next episode.
Why the fuck didn't they pile it in some bags in one place for the next group, why were they running back and forth?
>could be metallic vapours from molten reactor, shielding, wires, etc.
>ionising radiation fucks up your taste buds.
>radiation destroying the skin in your mouth (gums, etc) causing small bleeds, hence the taste of iron from blood
>No one really knows but a lot of people who had radiation poisoning reported getting a metallic taste in their mouth.
It's iron from their own blood.
light is just the visible portion of a violent torrent of high energy photons ripping through you
sheeit
They didn't know it was dangerous.
it's incredibly safe, actually.
>I don't know of many other places where people would have this sense of self-sacrifice for the good of others.
You can call me a normie but sometimes I type a witty reply in these threads but realize it's too edgy for all that shit that happened and I just refresh the page.
>book a tour
Don't be a pussy and just get in there illegally, like Super Sus
youtu.be
Safer than coal.
POST MORE PICS OF THE ROBOTS AND VICTIMS
the sheer heroism of these dudes, and in such a soviet way as well. higher-ups fucked up, now they have to face a horrible, painful death in order to save everyone. and all they can do is joke about it.
Only the Russians would be so suicidally brave to accept almost-certain mutilation and very probable death in order to fix things.
Only the Soviet system would be so viciously retarded to create such a situation where the above was required.
I'll make a better one for you.
It was their job.
This is like a family reunion fot this dude
i unironically agree.
It's not the looking part that gets you, it's the fact you're close to a shitton of radioactive material. The sarcophagus now contains 200 tons of radioactive corium, 30 tons of highly contaminated dust and 16 tons of uranium and plutonium.
No edginess can sully the memory of these men who willingly went to their deaths so others may live.
>Soviet Union ≠ Russia
Whats wrong with western education?
>(((Steinberg)))
This is a joke to you?
>When you've made a huge mess in your room so you just push it under your bed before your parents find it
You asked for it.
That's something a Democrat operative would say.
>No edginess can sully the memory of these men who willingly went to their deaths so others may live.
It was just a joke, dude. Calm your tits.
so how does an rbmk reactor explode?
I hope that everyone has a correct gear with them.
Post yours
da, comrade!
Russia composed 70+% of the Union, vatnik. The shit they lost was territory where people were indifferent at best, hostile at worst, to being part of the Union.
By the fuel rods being depleted and the radium mixing with the plutonium base.
Some of the firemen that night knew that they were dead men walking but did they jobs anyway because it was their duty.
he's fine, I've seen worse
0.139μSv, not great, not horrible, etc
I have some iodine pills lying around somewhere.
Can they expire?
the instagram generation, everyone
this can only happen if you are delusional and/or have been drinking feedwater
in reality, RBMK reactors cannot explode
I've seen worse.
i'm a 31yo boomer, cope more pathetic shut in.
Moar trucks!
jesus. its like the skin is going 'fuck this im done'
I've had worse sunburn
>not great, not terrible
Worst. Job. Ever.
This is the end result.
the graphite was snowing and on the floor
try again, commie
>that last scene
I wish I could be as happy and clueless as those kids
also why is abandoned soviet architecture so kino?
mor
They should be fine
This is more or less the background radiation everywhere in the country.
On the fun side - my mother was pregnant with me when the accident happened, so she had to eat canned food for several months.
>Once exposed, nausea and vomiting will begin almost immediately, and within a short space of time your tongue and eyes will swell, followed by the rest of your body. You’ll feel weakened, as if the strength has been drained from you. If you’ve received a high dose of direct exposure - as in this scenario - your skin will blanche dark red within moments, a phenomenon often called nuclear sunburn. An hour or two after exposure, you’ll gain a pounding headache, a fever and diarrhea, after which you’ll go into shock and pass out.
>After this initial bout of symptoms, there’s often a latent period during which you’ll start to feel like you’re recovering. The nausea will recede, along with some swelling, though other symptoms will remain. This latent period varies in duration from case to case, and of course it depends on the dose, but it can last a few days. It’s cruel because it gives you hope, only to then get much, much worse. The vomiting and diarrhea will return, along with delirium. An unstoppable, excruciating pain seethes through your body, from the skin down to your bones, and you’ll bleed from your nose, mouth and rectum. Your hair will fall out; your skin will tear easily, crack and blister, and then slowly turn black.
>Your bones will rot, forever destroying your ability to create new blood cells. As you near the end, your immune system will completely collapse, your lungs, heart and other internal organs will begin to disintegrate, and you’ll cough them up. Your skin will eventually break down entirely, all but guaranteeing infection. One man from Chernobyl reported that when he stood up his skin slipped down off his leg like a sock. And then you’ll die, in agony.
you're delusional; there was no graphite
get yourself to the infirmary
i dunno working in mcdonalds is at least as bad as shoveling radioactive rubble
stop posting these horrors pls
T-130.
Do you spit in burgers to get revenge?
>his skin slipped down off his leg like a sock.
Fuck.
This is just mild rash from the feedwater. He'll be fine in a week.
T-150
That's a T-240, bud.
>who willingly went to their deaths
BUT COMRADE EVERYTHING IS WELL UNDER CONTROL
THIS MINOR HOLDING TANK INCIDENT IS ADMITTEDLY NOT GREAT, BUT CERTAINLY NOT TERRIBLE
NOW GO TAKE YOUR BREAK ON THE ROOF, ITS A NICE NIGHT OUT
DON'T MIND THE ARMED GUARD WHO IS CERTAINLY BEING FATALLY IRRADIATED TOO
PS SEAL THE TOWN, NO ONE LEAVES, AND CUT THEIR PHONES LINES
DON'T WORRY, FOR GLORIOUS GOMMUNISM I HAVE DECIDED THAT THEY ARE WILLING :^)
T stands for Tank, chum. Not tractor.
This is becoming lulzy.
Go to the infirmary. RBMKs are perfectly safe. Only 3.6 roentgens, no big deal.
not good, not bad.
nah im not a nigger i just half ass everything as much as humanly possible and am generally as useless as I can get away with
I knew something might be wrong when the night of the explosion was confined to 1 episode, it could easily have been 2, they didn't even show the firemen on the roof ect.
DOSED
Don't know Russian. Just posting what it says under the pics.
$ 17 /h
How fast can massive radiation kill you? Like, if you were to hug the Elephant's Foot, or if you stayed right next to the reactor burning? Are we talking in minutes? Or can seconds be enough?
I was just fucking with you.
She’s a dumb cunt, anyone who doesn’t know about Chernobyl is a ducking retard pleb unworthy of respect
>you expect me to know the basics of the event that began the Fall of the USSR
Yes, yes I do
The heat would burn you instantly the day of the accident.
Have a BTR.
3.6/10
Not good, but not terrible.
I like this giant crane with a special cabin.
How did they build the sarcophagus?
Same way they built the pyramids.
Like so.
neat, almost sexual
And so.
Fuck so literally everyone that is near the plant is garunteed dead for the show
Literally everyone except for some of the civilians in the hospital are totally 109% fucked already in the show
Job done!
He probably got all kinds of pussy. "Hey baby, wanna go into my radiation-proof cabin and have some fun?"
Educate my retarded ass lads, radiation basically deconstructs you at the atomic level slowly and painfully is that it? Is there really no way to neutralize it yet? Is there research going on how it would be possible to do so?
The radiation was so intense that it ionized the iron in their blood, which tripped off chemoreceptor in their tongues and sinuses.
Scary shit
How long?
Nice try Democrat scum
High radiation corrupts cell division, my man. Good luck combating that.
Iodine can absorb radiation. As one user put it, you basically dilute yourself.
>tfw Ukraine made France and Germany pay for all of this
Ingesting radioactive iodine.
What does tsundere mean?
Radiation scrambles everything inside you. Cells die and they can't regrow back. You can take iodine to prevent your thyroid from absorbing radioactive iodine that gives you cancer.
only a handful of people were exposed to truly staggering amounts of radiation.
estimated fatalities as a result of acute radiation sickness were only 38 I believe. The true number is probably closer to 100-150, but either way it isn't truly catastrophic in that sense.
Most people would just have their life expectancy cut by 15-20y because of increased rates of cancer/etc.
It's in everybody's interest, chomo.
The would be cringy if they put on a fake Slav accent.
> Send robots out.
> Robots so fucked by radiation they an hero.
How long in the cabin or how long did the sarcophagus take to build? I'm getting mixed messages here. Sarcophagus was completed in November 86 or around 6 months after. Fun time in the cabin is 5 minutes because I have to get back to work.
>tfw imperial guardsmen
It blows holes in your DNA, so the blueprints for making new cells are ripped apart.
You either need to block it from doing that in the first place, or somehow code stem cells (harvested from you before the incident) to reconstruct your damaged internals (like code cells to rebuild your liver, heart, lungs, intestines etc.).
means best girl
I liked that youtube channel, does she still upload
They malfunctioned.
Could someone post those New shed hr pics on the reactor
"B-but I don't want to go into the radioactive shithole!"
Things that could not be decontaminated were bulldozed and buried.
link it
Countless sub atomic particles flying through their bodies. Officially people think you can’t feel radiation onlynits after effects but no peopel have ever been dosed as high as those firefighters
Therefore it goes to say they may be the only ones to actually ever be dosed high enough to feel(taste) their own irradiating
They know that if Ukraine tries to build something on it's own it would collapse on top of the reactor and blow out more dust.
Lads, here is a NHK doc on the Hisashi Ouchi accident.
>MFW your need 10 liters daily just to survive
pkc107.blogspot.com
Nope I’d be long gone
Was there an infirmary for robots?
Interesting info but not what I meant. I meant combating radiation itself, not its effects on the body, like cleaning it up or something.
>their own irradiating
Soapy water
some indie docu
youtube.com
The initial exposure to radiation is not painful. The agony begins when your cells start to die from too much accumulated damage.
That's enough.
I don’t even understand what’s happening
>MFW CONSTANT CELL DIVISION OR DIE
>MFW SHATTERED DNA SO CANT DIVIDE, OR DIVIDE EXTREMELY MUTAGENETICALLY
THYROID IS JUST INVOLVED IN SOME CANCERS
THE GUYS WHO GOT FULLY 3.6 ROENTGEN'D ARE PROPER FUCKED, IODINE PILLS OR NOT
They dropped 5000 tonnes of sand mixed with boric acid on top of the ruined reactor to try and "kill" the nuclear reaction. Most of it didn't land where it should have.
goreposting because he thinks it's funny
oh shit i found it again-- hasn't uploaded in a year, damn :(
she has a nice video where she climbs duga-3
You get as much of the radioactive material as possible, all of it, preferably, and you put it in as much concrete as possible and. move it far, far away from you.
It should be safe to approach in about 50 thousand years.
That's the only way.
A few agonizing days
You need to bury it with enough material to block it and wait thousands and thousands of years for it to decay
It's from imgur.com
Can someone explain how high levels of radiation can kill a robot? Is it because the electron flow and voltage gets completely fucked by the loose particles?
And they all died of cancer within 10 years
The people in the control room reported tasting that too. Bullshit that the show added?
Yeah thats real scary to be honest, I know of those methods of containment, in concrete and lead and such. Maybe people will come up with ways of actually neutralizing radiation in the future...
At least you show regret.
Some after 10, some after 20, some are still alive.
LEONID TOPTUNOV DID NOTHING WRONG.
I'm not sure. People reported a metallic taste when the TMI incident was on going.
Radiation is the end entropy of the universe
It is how all things decay it is literally death personified and no mortal Can stop it.
I'm also the guy who posted their monuments and them being heroes.
C L E A N it up, wagie!
the old sarcophagus was more aesthetic and kinomatic. this is a travesty
Yeah so everyone in the show is totally fucked already
Better way is to make a reactor that can't melt down in the first place, and there are reactor designs that can 'eat' radioactive waste.
They just don't produce quite as much power as fuel-rod style designs.
Rubbish. The elephant's cock is only around 3.6. at best. You are delusional to try and spread your western propaganda. Fuck off to the infirmary at once you traitor.
I'm guessing that the radiation interacted with the transistor junctions causing them to malfunction. Possibly exciting the electrons enough to bridge the gap without the control signal or something of that nature.
Those men are heroes. They saved the lives of many people far beyond the Soviet Union.
Chernobyl was horrific but was frighteningly close to being a whole lot worse.
COMRADES, LOOK FOR YOURSELVES. THERE IS GRAPHITE ON THE FUCKING ROOF.
If Chernobyl happened in the US, would you sacrifice yourself to save your fellow citizens?
Donald Trump will speak at your funeral
Given the crazy shit they did, they should be wearing North Korean general-numbers of medals.
my mother lived through it
she says that form the part of Ukraine that she was from trucks rolled in and gave everyone anti radiation pills (iodine and other sorsts)
but that after a few days everyone in their village started to have something along the lines of laundy detergent (the solid kind) form around their mouths.
and that they where kept in the dark about the incident for a couple of months.
just confirmed it with her over the phone before posting.
lmao no.
A. I'm not a mutt
B. There are people highly trained and highly paid to do this kind of work.
You go look.
Don't worry, you'll be fine, it's not actually possible for graphite to be there.
They have their own medal.
What game are playing?
>only 38 comrade
The number of potential deaths arising from the Chernobyl disaster is heavily debated. The WHO's prediction of 4000 future cancer deaths in surrounding countries[209] is based on the Linear no-threshold model (LNT), which assumes that the damage inflicted by radiation at low doses is directly proportional to the dose.[210] Radiation epidemiologist Roy Shore contends that estimating health effects in a population from the LNT model "is not wise because of the uncertainties".[211]
According to the Union of Concerned Scientists the number of excess cancer deaths worldwide (including all contaminated areas) is approximately 27,000 based on the same LNT.[212]
Another study critical of the Chernobyl Forum report was commissioned by Greenpeace, which asserted that the most recently published figures indicate that in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine the accident could have resulted in 10,000–200,000 additional deaths in the period between 1990 and 2004.
How generous.
Right now I'm playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R Anomaly
money isn't worth much when your skin is leaving your body
Nope I’d let most of you fuckers rot
PERHAPS, BUT HE IS STUPID!
GLORIOUS SOVIET RBMK REAKTORS SIMPLY CAN'T EXPLODE COMRADE
VLADIMIR I. LENIN WILL NOT ALLOW FOR IT
asshole
"Are you sure this is 3.6 Roentgen?"
Wasn't meant for you kek.
See because I fucked up.
>Greenpeace
lol this is an extremely unreliable source
Those rings keep his fingers apart?
>Wasn't meant for you
Oh...ok then :(
fact remains most Chernobyl liquidators had healthy happy lives afterwards.
Probably. I'm no medical expert.
btw. she just told me that when swizzerland reported that radiation was spiking like 5 or 6 days later after the explosion then is when the commies (motherfuckers) came out clean.
she now has chronic tyrod disorders.
thanks commies. you fuckers deserve the nose.
>only focusing on the green peace estimate
Kys
>the medal significies blood being hit by radiation
iirc
no
So radiation in the air glows blue, but why was the fire in the reactor green? Is it because of the numerous materials mixed that are burning?
what you posted doesn't disagree with my assertion: there were very few immediate deaths and most of the impact would be in premature deaths decades later as a result of higher cancer rates.
also nobody buys the greenpeace numbers, just like no one buys the original soviet numbers.
>you fuckers deserve the nose.
yes
iodyne
he's unironically right
Yes, you've got a shitload of various metals continuously recombining into various salts due to the heat.
You are relieved.
>various salts
why didn't they just use the infinity stones to wish back the guys who died
mfw
A lot burn with different colours (Na yellow/orange, Ba green etc.), this used to be used as a simple chemical analysis and is also used in fireworks. so yes it's most likely some of the decay products or other metals turning it green.
only 3.6 inches deep
not great but not terrible
is this Arya Stark?
