fuck bros. I've been rewatching old game of thrones clips on youtube, back from season 1-4. They're so good compared to the shit we have now. The fight scenes are legible and have impact. The characters are invested in their conflicts, its just all so compelling. I want to go back, or at least postpone the series until GRRM (the fat fuck) finishes his books. As of now the series is only good for laughing at how stupid it is. Compare these two fights to S8E3:

Grenn was so awesome. The entire nights watch group of buddies Jon had with him deserved better.

>be catelyn
>think le dick joke gnome is responsible for anything
>get your husband killed

She was the stupidest character on the show.

Well, except for her fucking sister that is. Fish brained idiots.

raise a glass for my man Sean Bean

season 4 was fucking shit quit it with the nostalgialite

>or at least postpone the series until GRRM (the fat fuck) finishes his books.
He had 5 years to finish before the tv series caught up with the books. Hell he had 6 years if they broke one of the 5 books into 2 seasons. Shit he had 7 years to write a book if they split one book and then took a year hiatus before they caught up to the books.
It wasn't going to happen.

The first two seasons have aged like wine, I recently marathoned them and they were just as addictive as the first time I watched them years ago. There was just this magical quality to the whole production, I don't think it's simply the lack of book material that caused the decline in recent years. The cast and crew just stopped giving a shit. Say what you will about D&D but they wrote some really great original content in the early seasons, if they didn't lose interest after the Red Wedding they could have maintained a high quality even without books to go off.

Yeah no, this show totally went to shit. It isn't a meme.

They just stopped giving a fuck. Look at the colors, everything was vibrant.

You might say it's because everything is in Winter mode now but compare season 7's ending with Jaime riding off to King's Landing last episode. If you're gonna blue filter everything then at least be consistent.

Battle of Castle Black is miles ahead of later battle in terms of balancing logic and excitement, but Jon getting his face smashed into an anvil and not immediately passing out is ridiculous

You know what's sad? We're finally getting the Cleganebowl tomorrow night, and at this rate I'm not even expecting it to top the fucking scenes of Jon sparring with the other Nights Watch recruits with practice swords in episode 3.

But... but... what about le based reactions at hipster bar?? We based our entire season on those guys reactions to the show!

> implying Tyrion's trial and escape wasn't absolute peak GoT

there was good and bad, it's the waterline

It was better then season 2 and 3

We all picked and chose bits of the last few seasons because we wanted to believe. Jaime in the fields of fire was the best part of S7 for me.

Wrong, only the first season was good.

I remember when I thought the Karl fight was fucking ridiculous because of the dagger tricks and his tard-out death.

Oh, if only I knew the path we were headed down then.

Attached: 1556067820382.jpg (1049x779, 93K)

His trial was kino but his escape was one of the first major instances of them fucking up a character arc, since they omitted the part where Jaime tells him the truth about his first wife.

Cleganebowl is gonna be a fucking trainwreck just like everything about this show. It's just going to be more fanservice with flashy coreography downplayed by bad directing/editing.
Look at these two fights that are not only engaging but serve to illustrate the world of ASOIAF:

if you're a retarded showfag i'm sure

I just finished s1 of GoT. When does the show start sucking farts.

first vid is meant to be Jon Snow vs THE FOOKIN LEGEND
youtube.com/watch?v=1KhygzMwmt4&t=6s

The first couple episodes are good

Season 5. It starts to wane in quality around 4, but compared to everything beyond it it's still amazing.

Show died with the Red Viper.

Nigger please.
Lucas might be a meme but he knew to give satisfaction and pottery. He didn't le epic subversion Anakin vs Obi Wan just because that's what Hollywood intellectuals think is cool nowadays.

Sad thing is even Lucas would've made a better job than D&D

Emilia Clarke's face is so unsettling. I've learned to forgive her though after learning she had 2 aneurysms. Then again why would you act if you suffered from 2 aneurysms?

After s1

But Ned vs Jaime also illustrates it. Ned is shanked dishonorably. The irony of which, I'm sure, is not lost on him.

Yeah but even that was stupid when you think about it.

>Jaime gets knocked into deep water in full armor, doesn't drown
>Bronn survives against all odds, for no reason, AGAIN
>Dany burns the supply train instead of the frontline of soldiers standing right next to it
>burns the supplies not even 15 minutes after establishing that her side has a food shortage

Didn't say it wasn't stupid. I guess set against Highgarden and what happens to Yara's fleet it seemed less stupid at the time.

Mate the Ned/Jaime fight sucks. It's retarded lightsaber dance choreography with fighters fully turning their backs on each other for a fancy move. Not surprisingly, it's D&D fanfiction

I don't think they stopped caring, i think it's when a good looking person discovers they're good looking and they start acting different. When shows change to what they think their audience want rather than sticking to what made them good originally, the shows usually end up worse.

There's not a long running series it hasn't happened to. Die a hero or live long enough...

What’s the difference between s1 and s2

>a show got worse after the fifth season

Bronn surviving and thriving actually makes sense and helps build up ASOIAF's world as a cutthroat one where you have to be a self serving jackass to survive. The show however paints Bronn as this wacky, snarky side character who fucks whoever he pleases and survives due to shear luck instead of cunning and foresight. The Dorne plot and "da bad pusy" ruined Bronn completely, and I say this as someone who considered Bronn his favorite character.

Ned

I finished s1 and every fucking fight scene sucked. I wasn’t even aware, my eyes just glazed over all the sword swinging and I had it in my mind that they were minor skirmishes and that the more interesting fights will come later. Then Tyrion gets knocked out, skips over the huge battle, and before I know it season 1 is finished.
The fucking hell bros? The dialogue isn’t even that fucking good
>STAB EM WIT THE POINTY END XD
>NOT TODAY
>Fucking retarded sword trainer

>the quality is determined by the number of the season, not by the actual content

Attached: shitlet.jpg (680x551, 38K)

Season 4 was the beginning of the end, there were many good moments though.

It makes sense in the context of KL riots, the Blackwater, trials by combat, hill tribe skirmishes, etc. Not when a dragon is blasting him from 15ft away and he survives by... jumping away... at a good angle...

Have sex.

I agree completely. Having Bronn be roasted to death would have been a good way to end the character while also saying "this world is so brutal that no matter how skilled you are, you can't survive a nuke."

Tyrion fills Ned's role in season 2, literally and figuratively. The only real problem with season 2 is the way they adapted Stannis.

Stannis wasn't all that destroyed until they got to the daughter burning.

The young actors that were there from the start of the show just didn't live up. I mean, recent season deliveries of Jon, Dany, Arya, Sansa are cringy as fuck.

They were good in the first seasons when they were portraying naive kids, but now that they are supposed to take the lead you just realize they don't have the range for that.

Rest of them (Jaime, Cersei, Varys, Davos etc) are ruined by uninspired writing.

best scene in show
"she was the one this i ever wanted. Someone took her away from me and 7 kingdoms couldnt fill the hole she left behind"
hits me in the feels

>started the rebellion because he was a cucked incel
Based

Is Cersei lying through her teeth in this scene?

stop after 6, it isn't even that good but last two episodes were pure kino, after that there is not a single moment of the show that's remotely good

Well, he didn't now.

But seriously, fuck Lyanna.

>be bobby
>someone takes your woman away
>start a rebellion and become ruler of the seven kingdoms in retaliation, creating the entire setting for asoiaf
>be tormund
>someone takes your woman away
>cry about it
>that someone didn't even really want your woman that badly and drops her for his sister

I hate that they make Ned out to be a talented fighter too. The books say nothing of the sort, it's just assumed that he's competent but nothing special unlike the standard good guy is good at everything trope

could he save the show?

>"she was the one this i ever wanted. Someone took her away from me and 7 kingdoms couldnt fill the hole she left behind"

That line delivery is top notch. Can you imagine Jon, Dany or Salsa pulling this?

Early Salsa maybe, but she has become so fucking one-note, smug, YASQUEEN it's unbearable

I wonder how he was intended to lose or be taken out for the protagonist to win. Before huge retardation he seemed nigh unstoppable with everything going for him.

stannis was mostly shit in the show apart from blackwater and reking wildling pusy

Jon ruins everything with his forced batman voice

When will they learn?

youtube.com/watch?v=XAOzMs9HbWg
youtube.com/watch?v=YEVkm60TPKk
And back when tyrion was relevant

Probably by increased tension caused by the red bitch's heresy. Which is basically what happened except Stannis participated to an unbelievable extent

So something like his fire cultist men turn against him while his enemies remain united? Could work I guess.

Sophie Turner’s good. When she tells the Hound “You won’t hurt me,” great line delivery. Turning her into ”the smartest person I know” ruins the character.

sansa visually takes after her mum.
later season writing stays on target

>her fucking sister
>tfw when just finished episode 7 of season 4
She didn't fly so good.

Gotta have women rule everything though. Anything other then absolute winning in every scene is sexism

>incel

Attached: when you recall a few chances.png (377x377, 247K)

Just because it showed signs of the end doesn't mean the season itself was shit.

>The young actors that were there from the start of the show just didn't live up.
Every day I am grateful for Alfie. He wanted to play Robb iirc, thank fuck they made him Theon. To think that someone of Kit's range would play my absolute favourite character from the books

TWO? She had two?

The scene where she lies about Lysa is pretty good too.

I heard she had 6.

You got a bunch of options:
>Stop now as you've already gotten through peak GoT
>Stop at the end of season 3, barely anything's resolved at this point but from here one by one the plots start to suck
>Stop at the end of season 4, wraps up most major plot-lines. There's a couple of plot lines which suck ass but the total experience is still fantastic
That's it, anything past season 4 is irredeemable

Attached: robert-baratheon-was-actually-a-brilliant-strategist.jpg (1300x650, 134K)

What usually causes them?

>they're so good

reminder that GOT was always shit, and people watched it for the gore and soft porn

Bad blood pressure.

The excessive eyebrow movements fucked up her circuits.

Dammit I miss Sean Bean

>No Tysha
>No "Wherever whores go"
>No "She's been fucking Lancel and Osmund Kettleblack and probably Moon Boy for all I know."
D&D had made some stupid changes before, but Tyrion's escape was the moment that the show diverged from the books irreparably. This was the scene in which GoT died.

The show has been shit since Season 2. Season 2 is when the show stopped following GRRM and went all in with D&D's Magical Fan Fiction Journey.
>Jaime Lannister: kinslayer
>Cersei whitewashed even further
>Love with Tysha over Shae is my true love now
>no chain
>no peach
>Renly good Stannis bad because Weiss is still butthurt
>no Lightbringer
>Brienne turned into one dimensional YASS SLAY QUEEN
>no Garland
>Robb falls for the first piece of brown ass he sees which makes no sense
>no Westerlings
>no Westerlings plots
>Robb and Talisa marry under the Seven which makes no sense for either character
>no Roose in Harrenhal
>Papa Tywin shit
>no Weasel Soup
>Arya's stupid use of names which is so dumb they have to make excuses for it in season 3
>Jon's plotline neutered
>removes reasons why he spares Ygritte
>removes Qhorin's talk about how he understands Jon
>only Bran is a warg
>Qhorin just getting Jon to kill him out of nowhere, yelling his plan in front of all the wildlings MAKES PERFECT FUCKING SENSE
>"I'll bet you don't know Dagmer's real identity."
>"MAKE HIM PAY THE IRON PRICE!"
>Qarth plotline a shell of itself
>House of the Undying, one of the most important chapters in the fucking books, just glossed over and made shit
>no Belwas
>no Arstan Whitebeard
Show took a nosedive right there and never came back.

based retard

it was more than two I thought

she had a few at the gym
reckon that's why she chubbed up and became the mother of burgers, she didn't want to exercise again

No, Stannis was completely destroyed when Davos presented the call for aid from the Night's Watch. In the book Davos makes a point that Stannis is the true king and he's too concerned with his right to the throne rather than his duty to protect the realm. Stannis spares Davos' life and calls that letter his paper shield. Duty is the entire crux of Stannis' character, that moment is the turning point of his whole arc. In the show he only decides to go North when Melly tells him to and only spares Davos when Melly tells him to. Even before that he's mishandled, but that's the moment the show truly kills him. Burning Shireen is just the cherry-shaped blob of shit on the cake.

Ned was fucked the moment he was captured

does anybody have a link to the music from the start of episode 3? The only music from the episode anyone posts is the same Night King shit.

Bobby was in love, Tormund just really wanted to fuck. You can't really hold a guy who has sex with bears to the same standards as other people.

>Melisandre believes the fake letter
>In a last-ditch attempt she burns Shireen to try and save Stannis
>The obviously fake letter was fake and Stannis returns to find his daughter is ashes and his wife an hero'd
>Melisandre flees north and Stannis pursues
>Returns south as the new Night's King

Robb is also shockingly stupid.
