>endgame will a-at least break 2.4 this weekend
>j-just watch
would be surprising if it broke 2.4 at all
do you capeshitters still think it's going to beat the space cats?
Endgame will a-at least break 2.4 this weekend
OHNONONNO
Nigga you retarded if you think it won't reach 2.4 this weekend
But you right about it not beating avatar
reddit btfo
It would NEVER beat Avatar. Avatar made like $3.5B with inflation.
How did avatar get that much fucking money?
I remember my bestbud and I going to see it in 3D, but I dont remember any hype, and the movie isnt even that great
It was the last blockbuster in history (2007-2012 era).
It will likely beat Avatar,
3B*
No it didnt.
Avatar will be beaten by Endgame. Whatever it takes
Of course it will.
3B*
endgame will always be, number 2
the question is when are we going to get another movie that get close to those numbers
>half of top 10 is Marvel movies
Jesus
Avatar 2-5 will make up the top 5 biggest films of all time alongside the original.
>66.66 of top 15 are Disney IPs
Christ
We truly do live in a society.
the navi better look orgasmic
With inflation, Star Wars, Titanic, and Gone witht he Wind are still on top. Endgame is big, but these are blips compared to real cultural phenomenon. Plus raw ticket sales means way more anyways.
It has already made 2.3 billion. There’s no more contest. It was a ridiculous success
Can't remember none of the character names from Avatar WTF
Lol Black Panther pulled in more money than TLJ even though it came out afterward
I want to fuck a Navi from behind and havetge tail latch hair latch on to my nose
Endgame hasn’t even beaten Black Panther in domestic gross. Truly pathetic
avatars ticket sales were mostly 3d which were 3-4 dollars more at the time per ticket so in reality endgame would have easily blown past it by now since the whole selling point was the 3D
Isn't Titanic #1 if you count with inflation?
black panther made that huge money in america because americans have huge white guilt.
Endgame is finished, everyone who cared has already watched it.
this is what free market looks like, enjoy
Look at this loser STILL COPING
Is it not true that the rereleases of Titanic and Avatar made it that much money but Endgame has done it in just couple weeks. No matter inflation.
>Actually believing anyone gives a shit about Avatar and that it wasnt the 3D gimmick
You have half the posts in this thread COPE HARDER FAG
In 50 years, a film could earn $1B, and be the highest grossing movie ever. Because they don't count inflation.
No, Gone with the Wind made like $5B because of inflation.
holy shit, that's true
terrible local ROI
Avatar had 2 theatre runs. Regardless of how popular it was the first time, the fact it had a second chance, the average movie-going audience was gonna go see it again regardless, simply because it was a movie to watch.
>Comparing a movie out a couple weeks to the full run of BP
This is the peak tism
>Overseas
So "domestic" means all of the Americas and not just USA?
Avatar will get a 3rd re-re-release in preparation for Avatar 2. The average audience member don't remember what happened in Avatar from 15 years ago.
I'm impressed that it's making so much more than Infinity War. You'd think that everyone who would see part 2 would also have already sen part 1 in cinemas. I guess part 1 got great reception though.
this
endgame is a steaming pile of number 2
There are Zero (0) chances it will break the local record of starwars TFA
And that shit was FOUR years ago
In 100 years avatar would have made 100 trillion with inflation!!
>The average audience member don't remember what happened in Avatar from 15 years ago.
It literally was just Pocahontas's story tho'
Those numbers are from friday. Weekend ticket sales aren't in yet and we've still got sunday to go.
>friday
lmfao
check yourself boxofficemojo.com
cope harder mouseshill, it's endgame, pikachu already beat it
For fucks sake, it says the date right there: boxofficemojo.com
Stop throwing around your idiotic buzzwords every time you're presented with facts.
>also already surpassed by a pikachu movie just a few weeks later
It only took a fucking spin off comedy and pokeymen is already raping the entirety of disney in all fours. Its great.
that's an estimate, incel
been updating it since, not but has changed
and not much will change
been checking since two weeks ago
it won't break 2.4 in the next 30 hours
Avatar is still #1 even if you subtract the money it made during its second run.
There will never be blockbusters that big again, theatrical movies are crumbling against competition from a dozen other media. Streaming will dominate all other forms of video media within 10 years.
I don’t get it, is it a fast food reference and the menu number 2 is no good ?
Please forgive me, iam new here nad learning the ropes, but I hope I will make many friends and why not even find love?
why don't they just keep re-releasing it to make infinity money?
Don’t give drumpfo any idea, he might actually do it ;^)
why do americans love so much their nu-wars?
>5 biggest films of all time
You mean 5 biggest flops of all time
It's their "culture"
>real cultural phenomenon
>Thinking avenger's isn't this
K
>2019
>Still doubting Cameron
When will they learn
You have to admit that it will be pretty fun to see avatar 2 grossing only like 200 million at most and Cameron scratching his head as if he didn't realize that his movie only got to 2.7 billion because it was on theaters for literally 9 months
he keeps posting in these threads and spamming his retarded opinion in them. he has over 10 posts in this thread alone. he's really upset
I will tell if it'll make at least 3B right off the first pic of one of those Na'vi
As it was a movie to watch
Look at how even Endgame drops after two weeks, look at any movie.
9 months doesn't matter if you're making 2m each week
>tickets now cost the same as in 2009
>disney soon
>watch endgame in theaters with TWENTY new minutes of footage!!
>>I can hear you all. I hear you from the bottom, defaming my name. I listen with amusement, to bitter cries echoing from down below. Such intense rage, yet so minute and insignificant,so distant...
>The hum of grandiose declarations, supported only by delusions of mere mortals. One after another, they came crawling before the golden gates of the 2.7 billion mark, barely standing straight, bloody and tearful, trying to grasp it with thier gaze, realizing they will never pass through. They gave thier absolute best, but never reached thier destination. Cursing my name as they're being cemented in thier pitiful position for all eternity. Nevertheless,i forgave thier blasphemy, disregarded thier envy, while i sit on the golden throne, ever so confident in my divine right as the God Emperor Dïrêktór. Yet i still wish for a worthy opponent, a noble spirit to clash swords with. It is indeed lonely at the top.
Dread it. Run from it.
$2.8B is INEVITABLE.

now post a picture of the average capeshitter
hang on, I got you covered
It rode on the wave of modern 3D cinema, a lot of people like me and my friends went to see it just to see how the tech's progressed. The movie was shit.
So an above average healthy looking man?
Cameron works for the mouse now.
>le moving the goal post man
>make endless threads about how thanos is "coming for you ney ney"
>get btFo
>back pedal
>damage control
>no u
eh oh el
OH NO NO NO NO
CAMERONBOTS ARE REAL AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Nobody that saw it will give two shits about the sequels. Avatar was mediocre at best. I remember seeing it in 3D and the hype was huge, but it was boring as fuck, the average Pixar film is more enjoyable.
>Why yes, I do know for a fact that Avengers: Endgame will make more money than Avatar. How did you know?
>Avatar was mediocre at best.
That must be why it made so much money.
DAMN they really are desperate
because we were talking about domestic gross
>THIS BACK PEDALING
OH SHIT THE CAPESHITTERS ARE ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS
BASED CAMERON DABBING ON THE MOUSE
Sorry, I meant worldwide gross. Not domestic
LOOK AT THIS AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
THEY'RE ACTUALLY DELUDED
THEY THINK THERE'S BACKPEDALING
Cameronfags are SEETHING
>Who knows? I'll be making compilations for either outcome on September.
Haha...it looks like it's all over for Endgame, bros! Personally, I'm going to celebrate by buying ANOTH- I mean, my first Avatar Blu-Ray!
As much as I hate it, it's obviously going to beat Avatar. Anyone who doesn't think so is deluded
kek
I think it's just USA.
It made so much money because it was a cultural standout. It was supposed to be the flagship of 3d films and change cinema forever.
Avatar itself was amazingly done and took full advantage of 3D because Cameron is more anal about quality in production than any other person alive. It is so great that even nowadays you see it playing in 3d televisions on tech stores to promote them.
The problem is that it did not change the industry because other studios did not want to put the same effort into 3D. If I recall correctly the only other film that came close was Alice in Wonderland, everything else was a shitty conversion.
Cameron didn't bother much about the story because the first one was just to establish the world. That's why it feels so average.
The quality of the Avatar franchise will be decided by the second and third one.
>but I dont remember any hype
You must be ducking underage
oh jeez I hope Cameron doesn't fuck this up
Americans love the BBC that much
3d tickets
Wtf Pikachu did 2,4 billions!?
>durr it didn't do as well in burgerland so we shouldn't care if it did well across the rest of the planet
Why? Because those "experts" and "analysts" told you so? Just like they told you Hillary had 99% chance of winning the election.
>election odds are comparable with box office projections
Do Cameronfags even read what they write?
>imagine beating 14,000,604 movies
>and losing to one
You were inevitable for all those other outcomes Thanos, all but the one.
Nigger what? Pikachu is going for a 55m weekend while Endgame will do around 65m
its a holliday weekend so yeah they will surpass Avatar
The technological prowess and the experience of seeing it in the Full 3D imax is what made people go watch it. And the new technological leaps and underwater scenes will boost avatar 2 as well since it will be a cinematic experience.
I don´t like the first one, even if it´s a technical wonder. I´m going to see the sequels because Cameron knows his shit when it comes to stage action scenes. Something that apparently is very hard to do in Hollywood nowadays.
The absolute state of that movie list
ALL SHIT
It is actually. Predicting box office results needs to take into account human psychology. You can't predict if people will still watch Endgame after the third week. It depends how much they feel like rewatching the film, and take into account how well received the upcoming movies will be
>3B*
no
>>every other reeeetard in this thread
Who the fuck cares?
Everybody who thinks that popular means good is retarded cattle. I could not care less about your shitty ranking which is not even inflation adjusted.
Newer movies also have a much bigger audience pool because of the westernization of 3rd world countries.
Fucking brainlets.
>inb4 have sex
By number of tickets sold, Gone With The Wind is still unbeated (200 million tickets)
What do you mean in reality? Endgame also has 3d screenings. What's stopping them from doing the same?
Ah, I get it. It's just another capeshit flick with no effort made to even attempt innovation.
it will be close to if not at 2.5 billion when they report the weekend numbers in a few hours
The weekend isn't even over yet. We'll see what the numbers say tomorrow.
Is this guy for real? He looks so cartoonishly manly
That's how hollywod producers unironically think
Adjusted for inflation is a meme. Inflation is real but it’s not measurable by adjusting to a fucking percentage according to year of release.
In the US, wages plateaued before Avatar was released. Milk and eggs and non-20oz cases of soft drinks have remained the same price. Gasoline has hovered around $3 a gallon for 15 years.
A better way to do this would be to count ticket sales and if you do that, most of these adjusted for inflation films disappear
cringe
They'll give estimates in about an hour and the actuals will be released tomorrow, but there's usually only a few million difference if that
Reminder that this is the only Avatar worth talking about
There was an indian film in the 70s that did more
funny enough I thought this is what I was seeing when my family took me way back when
thought I was going to be disappointed, but the contrary
The show still better though
It has beaten it though. It's at around 724 million and will finish with 830-850 million
Avatarbros...
at least refresh your page
Updating again.. Is it over for us Avatarbros?
>fallen kingdom is one of the worst movies ever made
>made 1.3 bn
fuck this timeline
>It would NEVER beat Avatar. Avatar made like $3.5B with inflation.
Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.
like I said....
This whole list is pathetic.
2.485 atm
300m to go
100m domestically this week
150m internationally this week
only 50m to go the rest of the release
Avatar fags BTFO
only 350 million to go and the heavy drops still to come, s-surely us marvel bros can do it r-right?
only 300m to go bros
we're gonna make it
Yeah, I've given up hope
For reference from the 18th day onward Infinity War made about 130mil domestically. Expect Endgame to make AT LEAST that.
it made 102 million overseas this weekend as well. It's definitely beating avatar. no doubt in my mind now
>muh endgame in current year 2015+4 economy selling 3D IMAX 4k widescreen dolby surround sound 30$ tickets
Endgame can't even crack top 5 when you count inflation lmao
it will be top 5 soon, that's where it will finish though.
Wonder how the fuck you adjust for inflation ticket prices for each country.
we just kind of worship what this website says
>a pokemon spinoff btfo their biggest movie
>were now getting a pokemon movieverse because the first did good
>every year from 2021 forward will be "pokemon rapes disney" year
KEK
>number 2 on its opening weekend
>btfo
lmao
since you're adding USD dollars, you only need to adjust for american inflation, retard
In the other hand, you should adjust for the size of the population: from 1940 to now it has gone from 2.3 to 7.5 bililon, which makes older records much more significative
So you're saying that if someone from Zimbabwe watches the movie, we should just give it number one? Fuck you.
Who is Number 1?
holy shit, they couldn't even do it without adjusting for inflation? jesus christ
just like in music, right?
Endgame
no idea star wars was so HUGE in america
can that ever be beaten, even without adjusting for inflation?
TFA had the perfect storm of nostalgia and released during a holiday season, so it will be a while before any movie beats it. Endgame had the best shot
An utopic, communist number would be the number of people that watched the movie as a percentage of the world population
A more appropriate monetary metric would be the box office as a percentage of the worlds economy, in a yearly basis
Or, alternatively, the cultural impact, measured as the number of references to a movie in published papers as a percentage of the number of publications in a year, but that's pretty much impossible to gauge properly
That's a cool mineral
Sneed
well shit
This as well, it was just an average fucking flick, right up there with John carter I have no idea how it made its billions
wasn't she wearing any panties? looks so uncomfortable
>2.5B
It's not there yet. It's at 2.485. Fix it.
Based Abatap
But it's gonna make at least 3 billion?
People love round numbers, and 4 billion is now pretty much impossible, right?
Disney bought tickets through proxy for poor inner city kids
>muh disney boogieman
get fucked, avatarfag
It was in theaters for like 8 months, same with Titanic and there was no competition for almost the entire run.
That's a bullshit way to count
The correct way is to count individual countries and consider inflation for all of them on an individual basis
Then convert everything for current exchange rates
How many more weeks does Endgame have left to break the record?
worship my clit dude
Several weeks at least. As long as plenty of people are still seeing it they have no reason to take it down.
300 million seems impossible even before newer competiton were out. And that's before inflation, yikes.
It's still NO 1
Disney is inevitable
Why do we count the amount of money it made instead of ticket sales for popularity?
Surely that domestic number is a huge disappointment? I thought it would be the one movie to top The Force Awakens.
adjusting for inflation Gone With the Wind BTFOs everything else
That blows my mind, because you didn't have hordes of Chinese and Indian people watching it.
>muh inflation
why is tv obsessed with this shitty fetish
based
Inflation is real and box office records apply it to make a fair comparison. Money's value changes over time you brainlet.
Percentage of world population that watched a particular movie would be an interesting figure, and not too hard to calculate accurately
Why isn't there any public available data showing this?
say it with me
WON'T
BEAT
AVATAR
HAHAHAHAHAHAAH
>Can't even surpass ET
Endgame is fucking pathetic and is just a normie fad.
>in theaters for 5 years during WWII
shouldn't blow anyone's mind
>muh milk and eggs
Not fair: back then there wasn't any videogames or internet to compet for audiences' attention
>2 years after the golden age of vidya
People have already seen it, though
EG is stil making money, dipshit.
Is this officially Endgame theme now?
youtube.com
Barely. Do the math. It won't make 300 million more, especially not now that it has competition. Avatar shits on your superheroes and I laugh.
The hype was real dude. Loads of people saw it literally just to see how good 3D was. Then you also had long time Cameron fans that loved his science fiction action films as well as Titanic. The hype was real, I think it was the first movie since Lord of the Rings where you ever needed a topic for small talk you could just talk about Avatar and maybe use that as a way to talk about other movies. Shit was crazy.
Endgame is a better movie than Avatar. But Avatar's use of 3D did arguably push the medium forward in a way Endgame doesn't
My post was in response to the idiot who said Endgame can't even surpass "E.T.," of which Endgame is only $18million short of surpassing on the All-Time Adjusted for Inflation list.
Reading. It's fundamental.
Yes but nobody wants the 3-D medium pushed, we just want a good movie.
Avatar wasn't that.
>Reading. It's fundamental.
seething
It was a fun novelty at the time. But it doesn't add much, no.
neither anything from the mcu
we're talking about cinycal hollywood bullshit, not art
Inflated 3D ticket prices and “muh pushing the tech of cinema, muh spectacle” meme fooling normies into seeing it. It was a big deal when it came out but literally no one except Abatap gave an iota of a fuck about it a year later except to bring it up in peabrained box office pissing contests like this thread.
>all MCU movies are bad
Any movie made in the last 70 years is a product to be sold, faggot.
All your favourite childhood movies were made to earn profit by pandering to your sensibilities.
It was in a time before TV, video and internet downloads, a movie could be shown in theaters for years
Nice rock
Then why is it still making millions of dollars every day?
During the war everyone had surplus cash because everyone was working and there was food & consumer goods rationing so people would unironically go see it dozens of times
oh with inflation, hell no
in comparison to weeks ago?
are you serious?
it's the biggest drop like it was the biggest opening
Now, reduce the Endgame total by 10 years of inflation, about 30%, or 10 years of ticket price inflation, about 50%.
Avatar is the only considerably good movie on that list. No wonder they keep producing shit movies, when the audience is this retarded.
>avatar
>not a capeshit flick
>capeshit box office thread
The only number that matters is # of tickets sold
Titanic still mogs both Endgame and Avatar and this makes sense if you grew up when they were released. I remember my mom & aunts and adult women in my life went to see it multiple times and it was continually shown almost the entire year.
Nobody cares about poverty stricken street shitters
money laundering
name ONE good mcu movie
Iron Man 1 is the best
