She’ll have to beat Joshugan to become final champion to get to zalem. My bet is joshugan is going to fuck her up, and zapan is going full revenge when she’s down. Zapan will kill Mcteague while he’s trying to help Alita. Mcteague will give her the gun parts out of his arm to help stop zapan because for some reason she’ll need it. Kills zapan, but gets sentenced to termination by the factory for using a firearm. She’ll get picked up by TUNED at the very end.

They could have Jashugan make a deal with Nova to make him Grand Champion, especially if Alita is giving him trouble. This would keep Nova relevant to the plot and allow him to keep tabs on Alita. In the manga Jashugan has dealings with Nova.

There are now set patterns in these threads. So the sequel gets announced and what? Nothing all that exciting will occur.really outside of of possibly a slightly faster thread or two. Maybe when the sequel is in theaters a surge large enough in these threads wil happen but still, set patterns will effect it. /ABAG/ didn't have those set patterns. Why not give him the berserker? Alita at the end of the movie has ditched it for a motorball body, probably because its power is way beyond the regulated limits for motorball bodies.
Jashugan didn't seem that tough at all in the movie, so Nova enhancing him and giving Zapan the berserker would make sense as a way to test Alita's limits.

My best guess at how they'll do TUNED is that after creating berserker Zapan and causing mass destruction in Iron City, Nova gets expelled from Zalem, he goes out to the desert and allies with Barjack. Alita is sentenced to death for using a gun, saved by Zalem and becomes a Tuned agent.

We can see parts inside her arms and other places that aren't there on the berserker. I think Ido could reverse-engineer the plasma emitter enough to make one that just works with the sword. In the manga there are regulations on the power output of motorball bodies to keep the game fair, I'd think it would be like that in the movie too.
Alita was allowed to use the berserker for the tryout because 1) it's not a recorded match so the standards are relaxed for newcomers and 2) Vector wanted her to play so he could have her killed, he wasn't going to turn her down for any reason.
