I know this thread will hit the archives past page 10 super fast, but I still think it's a tragedy Toho canceled Shin Godzilla 2 to focus on a shared kaiju universe between Murrika and Japan. Shin Godzilla is easily the best Godzilla movie made since the original and barely anyone talks about it.

>barely anyone talks about it
Because it was fucking boring.

I haven't seen shin yet but from the stills I've seen I've loved it. Hope they make a second

Agreed user. It was great but I thought the third act was meandering. I think Biollante would make a solid antagonist on that universe if they ever made a sequel.

Maybe if you have the attention span of a five year old. the events in the movie move at a break neck pace and Godzilla's scenes are a treat.

It was an episode of Evangelion, except with Godzilla as one of the Angels, and no Evas.

It's just a bunch of people talking, even moreso than the older godzilla movies. Fuck Shin Godzilla

>muh political satire
yawn

>Shin Godzilla 2
It was always intended to be a one off and it's just an alt universe godzilla. Anno specifically said he would NOT be doing a sequel

Shin Godzilla is fucking amazing, which is why I'm glad they won't make a sequel. Just let a good movie be a good movie for once, not everything has to be franchised into the fucking ground.

>Godzilla's scenes are a treat
HAHAHAHA

Attached: MindlessFlimsyFrogmouth.webm (640x368, 407K)

Shin Godzilla was fantastic, it only needed to be 1 movie. The whole message was about the Japanese response to the 2011 earthquake. The best Godzilla movies are when he is used as a device to send a message, makes the human story far more interesting than "WE MUST KILL GODZILLA/USE GODZILLA" with nothing else (2014 Godzilla)

>Shin Godzilla is easily the best Godzilla movie made

Attached: 1499488108793.gif (500x456, 2.63M)

Shin was kino. People that watch Godzilla films for campy fun were disappointed.

>The Who will know lyrics

Attached: sad cat.jpg (567x437, 35K)

The problem with Shin Godzilla is that there are too many human characters, it should be contained to a few that we can care about. Hundreds of different speaking roles is too much

Seriously fuck this boring trashfire of a movie.

That's the point, you've got hundreds of people, all giving their board meeting opinions on what to do, as people are dying in streets to this terrorising monster. No one is stepping up with real leadership to get shit done

I love Satomi Ishihara!

People think Shin Godzilla was boring are likely 16-20 years old.

Reminder Shin Godzilla was only co-directed by Anno. The other co-director specifically didn't want Godzilla killed at the end so he could leave it open to a sequel.

Who gives a shit. I wanna see Godzilla smashing buildings for more than 10% of a movie called Godzilla.

I interpreted it as "japan will always experience disaster, it's the natural state" and that Japan should not become complacent.

ok incel
post KOTM spoilers

Godzilla and King Ghidora fight, wreck everything to shit. Mothra and Rodan help.

Based Shin hater

The music was kind of all over the place.
The CGI for evolution, the river trash, the trains were awful.
A lot of the scenes looked flat? like they had no lighting director and one lens to shoot the whole thing.

Still like it over the 2014 Godzilla.

I think Godzilla evolving over the course of the film also played a big role in the symbolism/story telling. At the end with the shot of Godzilla's tail having humanoid figures coming out to supposedly represent him fighting human committees by creating one himself is pretty kino.

I'm glad their was no sequel. Shin Godzilla should never be a hero kaiju.

The one thing that bothered me was using old 1954 sound effect recordings of Godzilla's roar and Akira Ifukube's music. It sounds so jarring and out of place next to modern high quality sound of the movie. I know they're paying respects to the original in a way, but come on. It just doesn't fit the film.

All these little ant were attacking him, and he got fed up with it. He must have killed tens of thousands of people in this rampage. I feel this is one of the most well produced scenes in cinema history. Too bad more people didn't appreciate it. I'd like if Toho had approved a sequel, just to see what the creatures on his tail at the end would have done.

Attached: Godzilla.jpg (400x571, 259K)

Shin Godzilla is a standalone and does not need a sequel. Anyne who thinks otherwise is retarded and should NOT be taken seriously.

>I feel this is one of the most well produced scenes in cinema history.
I love the movie, but you genuinely sound like a beanboy saying that Endgame is the pinnacle of cinema.

The creatures growing on his tail in the final scene were a hint that there could be a sequel. Alas there will not, unless the Legendary universe fails.

Attached: Godzilla on a date.jpg (580x630, 119K)

>Shin Godzilla is easily the best Godzilla movie made since the original
truth. It went back to being a straight-up catastrophe movie but with a kaiju.
But the plebs just want muh cheesy camp kaiju movies apparently.

Going between Shin Godzilla and Godzilla 2014 made me notice something interesting.
In Japanese movies, Godzilla is treated like a disaster and tragedy to be managed and fought back against.
In American movies, Godzilla is treated like a lesser of two evils, protecting humanity at a cost.
This difference in treatment/perception is especially interesting when you think about the fact that Godzilla was originally created as an allegory for the atomic bomb.

I don't know why everyone makes fun of this. I honestly thought the "young" forms of Shin Godzilla were spooky as hell and had some good body horror elements to boot.

That wasn't sequel bait that was just meant to get your noggin joggin

The dream is dead bros.

Attached: 1547649534266.png (836x577, 1.03M)

Agreed, Shin Godzilla was amazing.

I think it's the googly eyes, which are a part of Japanese culture but just a joke in America.

>Toho cinematic universe
Could be based

>it's a tragedy Toho canceled Shin Godzilla 2
It's a tragedy that Rebuild of Evangelion 4.0 wasn't even further delayed? Are you sure?
>Rebuild 1: 2007
>Rebuild 2: 2009
>Rebuild 3: 2012
>Rebuild 4: ????

In the end of Shin Godzilla the main character blatantly states that Japan must learn to live with Godzilla, aka with nuclear power though. japan needs to stop worrying and love the bomb.

They're deep sea fish eyes. I think they're spooky.

I thought everybody hated Evangelion 3.0 anyway?

Attached: godzilla shin.webm (958x402, 2.95M)

sure but I still want to see it actually end

If Anno wanted to do Rebuild 4, he would've done it by now. If anything he would only do it just to get it out of the way. Do you really want a half-assed Rebuild 4?

They cancelled Shin Godzilla 2? Why? I thought the plan was to alternate between American Godzilla and Japanese Godzilla movies.

Well they’re not

they look goofy af, but that also makes it even more creepy, like a madman or-- madmonster or something

Because they're going to start a shared universe like they had back in the 60's with Rodan, Mothra, Anguirus, etc

Attached: shin godzilla.webm (1000x563, 2.76M)

No, just no. And it's a terrible franchise movie. It's an ok experiment but not something made for sequels and not something you can base an entire series on.

Because they wanted to make their own cinematic universe with Godzilla characters instead. The parallel Godzilla movie productions can still happen, depending on how KOTM and GvK does in the box office.

Agreed, I also like the earlier designs. Imagine seeing that weird shit irl. You'd fucking leg it.

>Me want lasers and pew pew every three seconds
Then go watch final wars

>]I think Biollante would make a solid antagonist on that universe
Hey buddy I think you got the wrong movie

Baby Shin Godzilla is pretty freaky honestly. He’s got the face of a dead fish and tramples over people without acknowledging it at all.

Good. I nearly fucking fell asleep during that movie
>hurr zoomer
Maybe don't hire an actual chink who can't speak English to play a chink American next time

I haven't seen Endgame, retard, and likely will not. I don't like cape shit, but grew up on Kaiju. Our opinions don't make any of us wrong.
I made an honest post about my favorite scene in Shin Godzilla, whilst your monkey ass just flung shit without posting any relevant content.
What is fucked up is you claim to love this movie, yet shit on other posters who also do.
Make content, or fuck off. LURK MOAR!

Attached: Godzilla Ukelele.jpg (400x487, 56K)

One of the most memorable scenes in any Godzilla movie. I was in awe the first time.

I'm so glad I got to see it in the theater. It was truly affecting.

I'm jelly af. I was living in a small city when it came out, so of course no theater showed it.

>I haven't seen Endgame, retard, and likely will not.
That is not the point I was making, retard. You sound like a fanboy. Godzilla's lazer attack is great, but it's not " one of the most well produced scenes in cinema history". Not when even Anno's own previous effort looks better: vimeo.com/64987176

>Theaters
>Okay, this might be go-
>Retarded looks
>Guy in the back whispers "The fuck?"
> it's literally a fucking episode of Evangelion but no evas

>Fucking Evangelion Drums and anime tier acting
>That's it, I'm out.

Yea Forums is where fanboys live, user. You should not be shocked to find us here.
The Who Will Know (tragedy) scene has better music that fits the scene perfectly., but your video was good. as well. Just not what I would call the best.

Attached: Godzilla and kids.jpg (564x675, 72K)

>Just not what I would call the best.
I find it better than Shin Godzilla version, personally. Don't get me wrong, I love Shin, but I can't really say it was "the best" I've seen in cinema history. Just a very well done film.

“No”

Yeah, it was amazing.

The ending definitely left open the possibility of a sequel

Why are Godzilla fans the best type of nerds?

Because they're not normies, but actual nerds.

They didn't cancel Shin Godzilla 2, they never put it into development. They floated around the idea, but Anno just wanted a one-and-done, and they chose to do something else rather than throw his baby to other creators.

Your statement makes zero sense. Every Godzilla movie is Japanese with the exception of the 1998 movie and the recent 2014 one. Godzilla has played different roles in different Japanese films, including being the lesser of two evils.

It was a retelling of the Fukushima disaster. Read a book, nigger

Due in 2020
No shit they’re calling it Shin Evangelion now

Who cares about a series? We just wanted a sequel

Okay, then. What do you propose they do instead? It's very easy to criticize without offering nothing in return--the sure sign of a dilettante.

What would Shin Godzilla 2 be about? All the little Manzillas swarming around Japan?

it's better as a standalone movie

I dunno, at least try to remaster it? Re-record the music with an orchestra? You know, the obvious answers?
>It's very easy to criticize without offering nothing in return--the sure sign of a dilettante.
user, you're an absolute up-your-own-ass faggot, holy shit.

Most likely. The original concept art showed Shin Godzilla splitting a clone off from himself in the final form but I like the manzilla concept better.

Attached: 1536254425422.png (600x375, 474K)

I never said it was the best film, user. It is a scene that gives me feels more than any other. Like what you like, and I shall do the same. I have nothing I want to fight about. We BOTH are bumping this thread, and keeping it alive. Keep up the good fight, and knock the 15 or so /got/ threads punched down to page 10. Peace.

That's not a Godzilla movie, that's something like Horror Of Party Beach or C.H.U.D. or Cloverfield if you removed Clover itself and only had the parasites.

Fair enough. Here, have this pic.

I loved Shin as much as you did but think KOTM would be better than Shin 2.

Anything Japan makes is always superior to anything America makes ever if they're the exact same thing.

Shin godzilla is garbage. Kill yourself weeb retards

I still think they could have gone ahead with both really. A Shin sequel showing the aftermath against humanoid tail creatures and their kaijuverse movies.

But I can't complain, King of the Monsters looks way better than it's predecessor and after that we'll have both Legendary and Toho kaijuverses pumping movies at the same time.

The human stuff in 2014 was like “I have this family dilemma and this things about these wierd mutos......oh and I guess there’s this giant dinosaur”, where 2019 had Godzilla as the main focus

I can't wait for this new movie to pass so all these people pretending to have always been huge fans of kaiju since muh pacific rim came out can fuck right off.

Just as bad as marvel fans that have never picked up a comic book.

Wouldn't having a sequel ruin what the first movie was about, the same way Godzilla's Counterattack ruined the whole nuclear horror aspect of Gojira?

Whoops, I mean shin

>I hate people liking what I like

A lot of people talk about Shin, and for good reason. It’s probably the most divisive Godzilla film among the western fandom yet (specifically Western, from what I can tell the Japs mostly loved it)
Personally I thought it was great, best film-wise since ‘54. I enjoyed the political thriller angle, liked the message about how Japan must both find it’s own way but also cooperate with other nations in the future, and while the CGI faltered in some areas in others it was genuinely quite impressive (namely the B-2/ beam scene)
That being said it was never intended to have a sequel and I think it’s better that way. A nice standalone piece to admire for generations to come.
Now I’m pretty hyped for KoTM, nowhere near as thought-provoking but it looks like some fun, comfy kaijukino

I CANT WAIT FOR GODZILLA TO FIGHT WITH CTHULHU!!11!!
WOULD BE SO EPIC!! BUT NOT AS EPIC AS EPISODE 9

>1954 based on Lucky Dragon disaster

you must hate the 2014 godzilla then. Which is fine, because most people do.

high quality post

are the Japanese a bit annoyed that the west made Godzilla a hero of earth, especially making him a weak iguana prior?

Yeah, a sequel makes no sense whatsoever; because it would imply two different scenarios:
A. Shin Godzilla wakes up in the middle of downtown Tokyo (presumably inside a Chernobyl-esque coffin, full of scientists studying Godzilla in the interim) and the Americans nuke Tokyo instantly in order to avoid TUMBLING DOWN TUMBLING DOWN.
B. It's an entirely different Godzilla that attacks, in which case why not just make it a separate movie?

Shin Gojira was probably the best Godzilla film since 1954, but what we need is more movies in the same vein as Shin rather than just sequels for the sake of sequels.

Attached: 1532816744006.jpg (685x960, 126K)

How do you not understand that selling your product to mass amounts of people in multiple societies dumbs something down? Its not buzzwords you fucking dolt, its marketing basics. No wonder you're the lowest common denominator, jesus christ.

Seems like pot calling the kettle black in some aspects to me.

Godzilla 2014 was a decent film, but it just left you wishing for a lot more. Bryan Cranston was unironically one of the only good performances in the film, and I will never not be mad about his quick death in the first act

People on Yea Forums are blithering retards. They're all constantly shilling for this new movie despite it existing only because the 2014 one did so well. It was really great.

No. They're more miffed about the ending shot that had some cringe stuff in a news report, which is fair criticism.

You do know that Toho seriously considered a movie where Godzilla fights Satan, right?

Let's hope that KotM fulfills that want that was left after 2014.

Pretty sure they did that one.

Attached: godzilla_vs_destroyah_002.jpg (436x293, 18K)

Wasn't there even a comic or manga about that?

>people liking things makes me upset, especially things not made by Glorious Nippon, the only place on earth that does things the way I think they should be done

There's also godzilla in hell, but you wouldn't know that because you're a tourist. Whats your point? The post was about a kind of person, not the media itself.

it's annuda showa

They also considered Godzilla fighting a literal ghost of the 1954 Godzilla.

Nice strawman you absolute faggot. I've done more to do with godzilla in my life than most of the people in this thread.

>the return of Rodman, Mothra, and Ghidorah
>force of destruction message
>Pretty good Blue Oyster Cult cover
>badass version of Godzilla March
Let’s hope, indeed

Rodan

>pretty good blue oyster cult cover
This is the worst thing about this new movie already, but everything else looks quality. They bastardized the song completely

Godzilla In Hell.

Looked like your point was crying about things Americans make and retarded "augh Yea Forums makes me SEETHE!" nonsense, and since you mentioned Cthulhu as a jab at American thinking I felt like reminding you that Japan does that sort of thing as well.
>hurr I'll assume you know nothing about this recent comic and be a faggot fart!
I'm talking about something they considered back in the 80's-early 90's.

EPICC!! GODZILLA IS LITERALLY STRONG ENOUGH TO FIGHT THE DEVIL!! NEXT THEY SHOULD DO GODZILLA VS CLOVERFIELD MONSTER OR GODZILLA VS THE AVENGERS!! SO SICK!!

Attached: 1557248597982.png (1089x947, 1.73M)

And the fact you need to hang your identity and entire being on that so you can cry about it on Yea Forums is incredibly pathetic.

>Serj is 51
what the fuck

I fail to see what all caps, retarded ranting, and eceleb pictures have to do with a factual statement. Is there an actual point to your inanity?

>one motherfucker unironically wanted Jeff the Killer In 2014
This kinda thing wouldn’t surprise me

I'm not complaining about the things japan or america make. I love mostly everything godzilla. I just hate retards that blindly bandwagon onto media they have low understanding of (but often pretend otherwise).

How exactly is it "bastardized"?

That’s actually a myth, unfortunately, though it seems to have had it’s roots in an early script for the movie that eventually became G’84. In that version Godzilla was to fight an early concept of Bagan, who was supposed to take the form of a water beast, a flying beast, and a land-borne monster before fusing all together in a final “Demon God” form (pic related)
Meanwhile, Godzilla vs Satan rumors had him fighting a giant fish, a demonic bird kaiju, and a massive spider before fighting Satan himself
I think someone may have misinterpreted “Demon God” as meaning “the Devil” and ran with it

Attached: FB004BF3-1BE6-4486-B429-858D0FEBCC29.jpg (750x837, 439K)

Wasn’t it all the “hero monster” stuff?

And why did you ASSume that I'm one of those people? I've been a Godzilla fan since the early 80's.

Isn’t that sort of worked into Kiryu being controlled by the bones of Godzilla it’s built around?

Godzilla could beat the Devil but he couldn't beat Charles Barkley

It's all about how you phrase it.

Poor Bagan can never catch a break, can he. If he's the monster that makes Kong and Godzilla team up to fight him in the next movie I would be very surprised and happy.

Attached: Bagan.jpg (1440x1080, 193K)

Barkley is a fucking nigger.

Attached: 1334987727930.jpg (1600x1159, 632K)

Why would Japan be annoyed at Godzilla being a hero? That's what they did with him for much of the Showa series.

Chuck is a national treasure

They turned Jet Alone with a lizard and replaced giant robots with office chairs and blue prints. That they played the adrenaline evocative "sortie" track over a bunch of spinning and panning over a bunch of mooks poring over some printouts from R&D is the stuff of parody. I get it, it's a jab at the bureaucratic response to Japan's natural disasters, but it's a fine line between commentary and self-parody that this movie leaps from like it's the Golden Gate Bridge.

Just my opinion, i hate serj. I probably just have bad taste with that.

Use brain retard

I didn't assume you were user, i agree with mostly everything you said. I just pointed out how extremely consumerist people often taint really good cult followings.

For the kids, while the older people were irked at the shift in tone, no?

DUDE BUT CAN GODZILLA DEFEAT GYPSY DANGER?

Is that Bill Cosby

CAN GODZILLA BEAT BATMAN AND SHAQ

Shin godzilla is trash in an entire series of trash. I don't know why this shit is popular beyond being one of the first big monster movies.

I sort of like the music and the chanting but Serj’s vocals are definitely the worst part. He sings so high and nasally it sounds almost whiny (though it is pretty neat when he hits the high notes at the end of the chorus)
Sequel’s better desu

Fun fact: Godzilla is actually based off of the Ray Bradbury story 'The Fog Horn'.

There's plenty of other movies that can be watched for political intrigue and human moments. You watch giant monster movies to see giant monsters smash shit and wrestle each other.

>Not when even Anno's own previous effort looks better: vimeo.com/64987176
If you seriously think that short looks better than anything in Shin Godzilla then you are delusional and blind.

ACTUALLY *snort snort* "The Beast From Twenty-Thousand Fathoms" was based on "The Fog Horn". "Gojira" was based on the atomic destruction Japan suffered.

>a movie so good in a 60-year-old franchise that has ONE voice actor in the dub for its second biggest fanbase
LMAO

I watched it, enjoyed it, thought a bit about the bureaucratic reaction to fukushima disaster, then finished. Don't need to bother with it now, its done. For the star power of the director, it was not as big as expected here in Japan.

>Anno is actually a good filmmaker

I'm sure they used elements of that plot there. It's not exactly the same though. The original idea was a literal ghost. It was bizarre.

>no scum industries

Nope. Both Godzilla and Beast were both based on the Fog Horn. The nuclear symbolism is more in Serizawa than Godzilla himself, as it's implied that Godzilla was known to the inhabitants of Odo Island long before the atomic testing - which may have just woken Godzilla up.

It looks like shit. Every special effect in Shin Godzilla looks better than every special effect in that short.

Based

Shin Godzilla was perfect. It didn't need a sequel

lol, imagine seething this hard

>can only talk about big G on /m/
What? People have been talking about Godzilla on a bunch of other boards.

Godzilla's been either a hero or a force of nature in every Toho movie except one, GMK, where he's in his only true antagonistic role.

faggot

very stratifying scene.
american godzilla was more a story about a guy and his family and not godzilla.
also american godzilla is fat

IMAGINE not liking shin godzilla lol

Shin Goji's atomic blast was the only good thing in it. The rest of it was just pseudo-evangelion nonsense.

:3

Showa Godzilla never really had a definite origin aside from it being established that nuclear testing was responsible for his appearance, but there were a number of implications that he had existed unchanged for some millions of years, was known to the people of Odo Island long enough to become their god, and was just as big before being nuked as after
Tanaka, the producer, was really into the idea of Godzilla having been a regular dinosaur that was mutated by the bomb and eventually made it canon in 1991, and that became the generally accepted origin
In the 2014 movie Legendary sort of revived the concept of Godzilla being an awakened monster once worshipped by ancient civilizations rather than a mere mutant
> missing the point
He was talking about Godzilla not The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms
The Beast is pretty fun though

I'd say in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah he's at least bitter, remembering who Shindo was and killing him.

It's only this purist faggot that's screeching about /m/. In actual /m/ threads people are hyped for the new film and discuss the entire series.

This. Watching the 1954 Gojira right now and the old dude explains the reporter how they used to have elaborate rituals and even human sacrifices to Gojira in the past.

I think it was the extra dose of radiation from the submarine sent to find him that made him cranky.

I’m mad that they mad my nigga George into an albino gorilla for now reason. In every game I know of he was a proud brown-furred ape of color. When will Hollywood stop THIS whitewashing?

Every Godzilla incarnation is actually just super pissed that they're being woken up, which is why they go on rampages.

They felt that people would be whining too much about "Kong ripoff" and made him albino.

>it's a tragedy a sequel to a shitty overrated film was canned
Acquire some brain cells soon or kill yourself faggot

Don't worry, he didn't get it either.

Not helping.

>Hollywood Godzilla does Shin's upward beam
>Hollywood Ghidorah does Shin's back beams
What did they mean by this

>Toho canceled Shin Godzilla 2
Shin Godzilla is excellent, but it doesn't need a sequel and shouldn't get one.

Godzilla VS Satan was literally just turned into VS Destroyah, and it's not even the weirdest version of the potential final film in the Heisei series. They originally wanted to make him fight the ghost of the original Godzilla possessing his own skeleton and the only reason that they didn't do it was because it'd have meant fighting three Godzilla variants in a row (Mecha G and Space G coming before).

I couldn't imagine being that much of a pleb in all honesty senpai

The actual rampage part was great. Rip Ralph tho, that sucked

Will there be a reiwa Godzilla soon?

>GODZILLA VS THE AVENGERS
didn't that happen already

>Shin Godzilla 2 no longer happening, but we're getting something better

>Implying they can make something as based as hideaki anno's godzilla

I'm not sad actually, shin godzilla its pretty fucking good, I doubt anno was interested in a sequel

Don't worry based OP. The new Godzilla is going to crash and burn in the global boxoffice. I, for one, will laugh at the disaster, because I love Shin Godzilla with a passion. Fuck Legendary and fuck Toho and fuck plebs, they have to ruin everything that is good.

You might not like it, but this is what Godzilla's best design looks like.

But I do.

Moron

Who are you quoting

No one asked, retard

Sorry user, I forgot the Americans need everything to have angry eyebrows and sunken red glowing eyes to be scary

I'm not going to watch a stupid westernwashed clusterfuck with a fucking American child from a shitty Netflix series as the main character. I didn't watch the previous turd. Watanabe should be ashamed. Shin godzilla is so great.

Good.
It ended perfectly on an ominous tone, not everything needs to be a fucking cinematic universe, or have a dozen tacked on sequels.
There's nothing wrong with stand-alone movies, and Shin was evidently conceived as one.

it completely misses the point, just liek most of them. It tries to hit the same design beats, without considering why those beats are there in the first place.

The franchise was just a glorified toy commercial back then, sustained by kids hitting the cinema in droves. Gojira left a landmark, there was always a subset of fanbase, especially in japan that was irked with the icon being literally whored out.

>it completely misses the point, just liek most of them.
How so? What Godzilla designs do you like? Genuinely curious.

Shina is unironically kino. I saw it in theaters and what a treat that was. Too many plebs didn't like it though, and mutts are too dumb to read subs.

The fucking scene at night in Tokyo. Just they way they built up to the purple lazer and the fire breath. My jaw had never dropped at a Godzilla movie until then.

True, but Eva was rarely as lighthearted apart from like Pen Pen.
Sequel could be okay even without Anno if they go another direction a la Magic Mike and XXL, both good in their own ways.
Oh shit, now that's the kind of Pokemon movie I'd actually be interested in.
Made me wish I was watching Ang Lee's Hulk, Bayformers 1, or Fast Five instead.

Shin fucking dies, they didn't cancel the movie cause there never was going to be a movie, you retards are retards who don't even fact check

Nice projecting. That's why Shinji Higuchi talked about the sequel that him and Anno were developing and how it had to be postponed due to the retarded Legendary universe. You moron.

Prove it, post link

>Shinji Higuchi talked about the sequel that him and Anno were developing
I doubt it. Anno was hired as a concept designer and then basically highjacked the production. Crew literally hated him. IIRC they wanted a sequel without Anno.

Textbook shinfags the only kind of fans that can ruin a Godzilla thread there's something seriously wrong with them.

He was pissed off with Gainax and decided to leave and make his own new studio, Khara, but then he realised if he's gonna found a new studio, he requires investors, and investors require confidence in a guaranteed financial success, thus, Rebuild of Evangelion. It took years for Khara to actually produce anything substantial that wasn't Eva.

What's funny is how just a few years later Imashi decided to found his new studio too and everyone that was left went with him. In the space of like five years Gainax went from a significant tentpole of the anime industry to practically just an office that maintains their copyrights and grows tomatoes.

More like the creators of The Beast agree to give the credit to Ray Bradbury mostly from benefits of having his name in the credits than any actual influence on the movie.
While Godzilla is a product of Tomoyuki Tanaka failing to make a movie about a natural disaster in Indonesia in 1954 (coincidently Eiji Tsuburaya had a concept of a giant octopus movie in 1951) the shape of Godzilla mostly likely influenced by Rhedosaurus. Ishiro Honda wasn't the first choice for the director but the idea spoke to him.

t .brainlet

>Anno was hired as a concept designer
Mahiro Maeda was the lead designer, all three of them (Higuchi, Anno, Maeda) work together at Khara, Higuchi hiring Anno just so he could hire Maeda strikes me as redundant.

BASED

Cry more, faggot. Enjoy your American Godzilla.

Yeah I kind of agree, shinfags started this retarded competition that nobody asked for and easily became the worst I have to remember not lower my score for the movie because of them but it's easy to forget with such rotten piece of shit fanboys.

It´s a very accurate representation of how an American brain manchild works.

based mothra

I like GMKs design
