No, because now that she has no memory of Quill she’s free to be the love interest of Nebula instead.

They did it to retcon her out of being Star-Lords love interest because that dynamic honestly made no sense.

I wish they would stop playing his haracyer just for laughs and actually give him some development. He shouldn’t have died in Infinity war, they should have had him survive and deal with the consequences of his actions. It would be interesting to see him go over the edge and become closer to his comic version as the toll of losing just about everyone and everything he holds dear finally breaks him. His journey is very similar to Thors except he seemingly learns nothing from it. He should have coped in the opposite way as Thor. While Thor sinks into depression and nihilism, Star-Lord should have been on a mission of vengeance that can never be fulfilled because Thor stole the Thanos kill from him. It would add some real tension between the 2 and not just for Star-Cuck vs Thunder-Chad jokes.

As the MCU stands now, Star-Lords whole character is a fucking joke. It’s like we forgot his mom died in front of him and he couldn’t even mourn for 2 minutes before being abducted from earth, had both his real dad and the man who raised him like a dad die in his arms in the span of 5 minutes, then fucked up so bad he failed the entire universe TWICE in a span of a few days. All this on top of losing Gamora and being forced to live in a reality where she physically exists but not as the one he knew.

The love arc which was actually a big problem has basically been resetted, quite elegantly so with her death.

Usually these stories based on sexual tension fail rapidly when they get together and the boring GF/wifey dynamics come in.
