If there’s one game in Nintendo’s catalogue that could start a movie franchise it would be a heavily adapted Metroid. The fact that they went with fucking Detective Pikachu means they never had anything like this in mind at all. Nobody’s that retarded.

Every game has way too long of a story and every little piece to a Zelda story is important, so you can't cut any thing.
Legend of Zelda only recently had non-white Hylians. If Hollywood does it, Hyrule will be full of spics and mutts.
Hollywood would make it so Hylians are racist to Gerudo's, make Malon a spic or an buttfuckingly ugly readhed with freckles and jew hair.
The only movie short enough would be Majora's Mask.
Those movies are based on comic book arcs (Civil War, Infinity War) with actual plots, character arcs, dialogue, etc. More than half the characters in Smash Bros literally never speak.

combine Metroid 1 and Return of Samus for the first movie. end it with Samus and the baby blasting off and Ridley following them.
sequel is just Super Metroid.

Honestly, if they could find a way to do these justice, it has the chance of being really good. I know characters like Mario or Link are known for being blank slates, but you could maybe use their mannerisms to form a believable personality. Mario could be all happy go lucky, positive outlook to the point where it's detrimental type. Link could be very focused and stoic. Of course the voices are a problem, but perhaps they could get someone that sounds like the grunts they make in the games.
Also, Earthbound is kinda similar to Strange Things. Both are about a group of kids (some of them having psychic powers) fighting otherworldly creatures. I could see it being a very good movie if done right.
Would a zelda film ever be good? I thought the main draw was the world & gameplay, the story itself is pretty predictable and bland.

Why do Metroidfags pretend Metroid is relevant? No Metroid game sold more than F-Zero. Metroid has been less relevant than Fire Emblem for quite some time now.

I can see LoZ as an Indiana Jones/Mummy type adventure movie where the princess runs away with Link to find the Triforce and kill Ganon. It'd be pretty generic, but the writers could inject a lot of humor into it.
Ocarina of Time could work as a Netflix series like Castlevania. Just have the sages journey with Link instead of sit in the temple.
