The early 2000s were a trippy/weird time that was like the last breath of the 20th century, and had a mysterious/cool feel that 2004-2009 just didn't have as much.
People often said "The 90s ended in 2004", since 2004 had a lot of changes that screamed "the 00s culture is here" and the late 90s influences were fully dead:
>Nick and Cartoon Network cancelled all the 90s shows >The re election of Bush >Approval ratings of Iraq began to dip >Movies like Team America began to come out that were disillusioned with the American Dream >People began to get over 9/11 and the "Bush is stupid" schtick began >The Rock retired and WWE begun transitioning to Cena and Batista >Emo overtaking nu metal >Crunk rap overtaking glam rap >Myspace getting popular >Web 2.0 coined >Friends finale >Laguna Beach started >Release of Nintendo DS >Broadband overtook dial up for the first time >Eminem fell off with Encore >Green Day changed their sound with American Idiot >Last full year of 6th gen gaming, before 360 came out next year >iPod became popular >TechTV murdered by G4
>before the internet seeped into every last crevasse of your life.
I graduated highschool in 2004. Sometimes I wax utter disbelief at how categorically different the world of 2004 is from the world of 2019.
James Foster
Fuck off zoomie. Sound like me a decade ago about the early ninties and how it was like the eighties. It's funny how nostalgia seems to be one of the most constant things

>People began to get over 9/11 This has to be a joke. It’s been 18 years and Americans still can’t let it be history.

>People born in 1992 are zoomers >Eventually everyone who was young once and has nostalgia for a time period will be met with “ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM”, by 16 year olds compensating for their smol dickies Yeah, sounds about right.
Colton Hughes
>2004-2009 just didn't have as much the good times ended in 2007
I never realized that I basically became aware of pop culture right around this time. I did have a little bit of exposure to early 2000s stuff. Mfw zoomer
This is all relative because now Zoomers post childhood nostalgia for the LATE 00s-Early 10s on social media and say 2007 was the best year ever, even though older people considered that the downfall into shit era at the time.
Well people have been complaining about Yea Forums's decline since 2007 with chanology and the exploding van. That being said it's kind of a continuous "just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it did" situation on this site.
The era around the 2016 election was considered cancer yet it somehow got even worse in the 2018-2019 era with endless wojaks and "based/cringe" being used a lot more as sort of a "downvote".
You do realise that america online resulted in literally millions upon millions of internet users gaining access in like, 1993. Right? Most normies just use various social media sites and google now anyway. Probably think that's the entire internet...
Michael Hall
2000s as a whole was weird in general. Full of non-standard tech. Remember Blu-ray vs HD DVD? And in the end Streaming won.
Xavier Johnson
Yea Forums is dead as far as I'm concerned. It can't even keep up with It's own memes anymore.
Never see tits of gtfo being followed anymore Never see incest threads taken over by spiderman anymore And the white knights has become the majority
Easton Walker
>Most normies just use various social media sites and google now anyway. Probably think that's the entire internet... But now even this site has become homogenized to feel the same as Facebook or Reddit
Kevin Rivera
because of the mass reddit migration in the early 2010s, and at this point we have actual females showing up to unironically spew SJW shit
Owen Mitchell
Don't see how you can be bitter about the passing of time. No shit the zoomers are going to grow up and start using the internet. You did the same thing.
Owen Young
The internet is shrinking, and social media is growing. Most websites from the AOL era are completely gone now.
Brayden Evans
I'm pitiful than Zoomers are nostalgic for metaphorical shit stuck in a rotten toilet and missed out on everything good

God all those old memes were so cringey Le Longcat is Long XD Uhh...DUCKROLL!!! DO U LEIK MUDKIPZ!!! BOXXXXXYY IS QUEEN!!! So fucking gay. This place is unironically funnier now that the memes are low effort and the racism has been turned up to 11

Becoming politically motivated, no longer enjoying movies or vidya like you used to.

Brody Foster
So many people have nostalgia for the old days but don't post pictures from the old days or act like this is the old days. Why? If you want things to be how they be just act like they be like that.
Christopher Edwards
If I was a zoomer how would I know some of those shitty memes off the cuff? Cope harder you cringey faggot. That shit was funny when I was a 16 year old.
Because you faggots trawl ED for your batch of simply eric memes to spew out, then write articles about how ED is a good boy that dindu nuffin', and isn't a cancer on par with KYM.
Cooper Parker
Word dude, keep glorifying all those extremely cringey memes I'm sure you are the 40 year old calling people 25+ zoomers in this thread. Very embarassing, at a certain point you aren't a cool gatekeeper anymore and are just a pathetic old man stuck on a site with people half your age.
Joseph Foster
>ED You think an 18-22 year old even knows what that is? You are overestimating zoomers to try to make a point about lame memes that have absolutely not stood up to the test of time.

classic mistake, those memes aren't cringe, the real cringe is that the internet overtook real life so much that you take memes seriously now instead of just viewing it as inherently nerd bullshit to begin with back then. in 2005 everybody knew memes were retarded, that was the point, in fact now they have become less ironic and more motive-driven despite this supposedly being the age of le ironic detachment.
the real cringe... is society

I remember a post some user did on here about why 90s fashion/culture was so weird. Its because the 90s was the last decade of white youth culture, the weird fashion and music was its death rattle. From the 00s on this rap meme and wiggershit got catapulted to the mainstream, no one likes it. Hell, zoomers got cucked so hard that they got brainwashed into liking it but can never sing along for fear of being called a racist lol. Theres no more white punk music, its all low effort R&B by losers.
1991 best year to be born. All the 90s millenial cartoons before nick and cn got pozzed. Pre 9-11. 2000s music. Ended high school right when the smartphone started taking off. Mw2, halo, ps2, mgs...

>between 1997 and 2003 I would say 1993 to 2001. It was the era of peak optimism.
The Soviet Union had fallen, terrorism was a remote problem, there were no threats to the West, the ozone layer hole problem was quickly fixed by swift action from governments, democracy ruled in most of the world and books were written about how mankind had reached "the end of history", while technology offered the promise of an even better tomorrow.
Everything seemed to be going well. Even SJWs were fringe groups, considered a joke and openly mocked on TV.
Fuck all people that are nostalgic for a certain decade. Life was great from the 50’s up until early 2010’s. It’s all downhill from 2014. Now we are controlled by ultra-leftists, ugly spiteful feminists and angry vengeful colored people and it’s gonna get even worse. Just look at Great Britain it’s closer to becoming 1984 by George Orwell every year.

zoomers love suicidal face-tatted junkies like XXXTentacion and Lil Peep. Post Malone was almost there but all he does is drink booze. Mumbly niggers on trap beats is a big one, Tekashi, some mexican, was big for a while. Honestly its all garbage, I have some respect for post malone because his backstory is like something a kid would think up. >master guitar hero >love music >make mixtape on soundcloud >need rap name >put own name in a rap name generator and run with it >hit it big
I don't know. I don't know why the guy keeps posting this image it's not that iconic either the band or the song. It's not as unquestionable as Papa Roach for the 90s there has to be some other band that works better as the embodiment of the era.
Joshua Sanders
People here using the same old "every generation thinks the next one will be the downfall" really aren't getting it. The 2000s saw a massive shift. The iphones, the rampant propaganda, online games taken to mainstream, and most importantly social media sites. 2008 is the year where it became obvious things were taking a turn. The Financial Crisis started. Remember how the world viewed America? Remember Greece and its debts? Remember Gadaffi? Things changed forever during that period. The early/mid 2000s were truly the last period where things were somewhat normal. >inb4 degeneracy in media always existed Yes, but not to this point. This is their endgame. It's their culmination of everything. >inb4 empires collapsed and rose They did because of incompetence and inabillity to control their subjects and territories. Now technology has advanced so far that they can wallow in their filth and still govern perfectly. - This is the defining moment, and the 2000s were important. Loking back on them fondly is normal. You should all be afraid of what's coming.
In my opinion the 2000's started with frosted tips and ended with music that had stomping and clapping

Thomas Lewis
Zoomers were age 9-16 then. Besides that ad hominem, its undeniable that 06-13 was the peak of mob rule on the internet, where the anonymous masses were able to achieve the maximum cultural impact with the minimum amount of IRL social credibility. Effectively, whatever the hivemind wanted the hivemind got, and TPTB were taken along for the ride just like everyone else. If Yea Forums's 2 golden eras hold no special significance to you then what brings you here in the first place?
Leo Stewart

9/11 was the beginning, but it gave birth to the "MURICA FUCK YEAH" sentiment which spread over media and fiction of the era. L O S T started airing in 2004. Things changed in 2001, but the nail in the coffin came in 2008. That was the true beginning of the end.

A lot of the old software came on bundles of floppy discs. The tree hating boxes stuck for a while even after cd's became the norm but they still had a lot of other stuff in them. Manuals especially were far more relevant to everything than they are now, and they were usually pretty hefty tomes on their own.

Is it really so surprising the zoomers and the nu-zoomers are reminiscing about the pop culture of their own youth? Every generation does that.
The point is you remember the culture that you grew up during as the 'good stuff' and the stuff that comes after as crap. There's something special about growing up, every piece of culture seems special and significant later, even if it's merely a derivative vestige of a better, more essential work.
There's that image of the book written in the 70s by some ancient boomer. The title is something like "Everything created After 1970 SUCKS!" It gets posted here sometimes but I can't remember wtf its called. Some user help me out, so I'm not >that 27 year old boomer who rambles about old Yea Forums posts. Please.

I did say, "don't make me tell you twice little lady, if you know what's good for you". then swatted her ass. she went back to her parents, and begged them to take her back. her father was all pissed because I was fucking his slut daughter, and somehow got her to follow orders for a year. controlling her was so satisfying on a primal level.
this is when the iPhone 3g came out, and I had video of her sucking my cock. I kept playing the videos with sound as she moved out. I know her father heard it, because she was moaning and calling me daddy.
she honestly wasnt too good in bed till about month 8. then she got the hip gyration down and would grind nonstop.

This. I told y'all dawgs to listen. This is what happens when the outside nigger be outnumbering the inside nigger and the outside nigger become the inside nigger, y'all understand? Folks ain't all the same and y'all can't just switchem in and out. Assimilation don't work yo. If it did, y'all dark skin niggers be wearing the shirt and tie with a 9-5 like the white man. Not wearing dem orange jumpsuits with a 25-life like the stereotype that y'all live up to says. Check it, dawgs, Reddit destroying Yea Forums(nel) is no different to the mass (((refugee))) immigration. People aren't interchangeable and because they aren't you can't implant a whole different breed of one persons where a different persons already exists and just expect them to live exactly like the people already there with the same values and culture, it's one of the big pitfalls of Communism - that's why they try to reinvent what values are, what culture is, what religion is or is not etc.
Jeremiah Cruz
Fags were around the whole time, they were just kept in check for the most part (that's why it was the first term of address). People that yearn for the old memes probably say pupper and doggo in real life, and otherwise use baby talk on the internet. Reddit existed before reddit, which is interesting to see in retrospect. And a few of them are going to be left over here even from the old days, on the rare occasion they were actually here for it. They're the people that will be saying some bizarre shit about baneposting being about unity or some ridiculous garbage in a decade.
Michael Taylor

2007 was objectively the beginning of shit world though. September 2001 was the end of the good times but it wasn't until 2007 that it all collapsed in on itself. Social media finally exploded with Facebook and YouTube, corporations finally cottoned onto the fact that the internet wasn't a fad or a bubble and began to shit it up and sterilize the web, cell phones with cameras were finally widespread which absoutely devastated social interactions, SJWism began in earnest with President Nigger announcing his run, the housing crisis was beginning to rumble in the US and prices for everything skyrocketed overnight all over the world and have never fallen (It cost 800 bucks for a good two bedroom apartment when I entered univeristy in 2007. By 2010 the same apartment cost 1200 and nowadays is close to 1600), and for the losers who care about It video games became plagued with DLC and became Eternal Beta releases, billion dollar capeshit was being born, music was just autotuned nigger rap and bubblegum divas, etc etc. A lot of world changing shit came to a head or was born in 2007, that's why its common referenced as the year the world became truly shit with no redeeming qualities. It's not just a youth thing either.

>Social media finally exploded with Facebook and YouTube, corporations finally cottoned onto the fact that the internet wasn't a fad or a bubble and began to shit it up and sterilize the web, cell phones with cameras were finally widespread which absoutely devastated social interactions More needs to be written about this. The internet, cellphones and social media have completely warped social relations, but it seems like nobody cares enough to speak up or try to stop it.
Fans before 1985 did not like Green day going emo and political. Fans born after 1985 were more accepting of this though.
Caleb Howard
Christ people born after 1989 are retarded. You have no place on this thread. You're just nostalgic for being 12. "Muh video games and cartoons". Fuck you. I grew up when you actually had to phone people to talk, or go to their houses. Maybe your buddy had a N64 but it was funner to wander out into the city and see what was happening and it didn't take a 40 minute debate to get people away from their screens to go do something. Without cell phones everyone was friendlier and more into what was happening around them. Girls would actually sit there and watch you skateboard instead of just staring at a screen. Movies were still fun and surprising and theatres were still classy enough to not sell nachos and fucking hotdogs and pail sized drinks. There was WAY less fat people, and very few fat young people. And way more whites. You could actually sneak out and go to parties-your parents knew but everyone had fun pretending you were just going to Mark's to "study", parents couldn't spy on you.
Fuck zoomers and younger millenials, you didn't even experince the last few years of living like a real human being, so what are you complaining about.

astonishingly little has been written about how the form of the internet has effected people's lives
a few days ago i saw a thread on twitter in a similar line of thinking to this; much like how smartphones have warped social relations, clickbait has done a similar thing to politics and radicalisation. clickbait started out literally as clickbait (i.e. profit driven) but morphed into something people earnestly believed in, what started out as corporations trying to make a quick buck off a new medium morphed into the default politics of our time
>had to phone people to talk Do you know how much of a luxury hat would’ve been in my time, you spoiled fucking baby? You didn’t even have entertainment, just drivel spilling out of the tele vision.
This is very cringe, but I remembered this song from a game my little brother used to play back then, most early 2000s sounding shit I’ve ever heard, takes me right back

I used to frown at the idea of this but it's true. Everything after 2012 feels like a blur. What happened in the past year? I have no idea.
Cherish your adolescence anons. Life will only get faster and more confusing from here on out.
I agree that one of the worst things to ever happen was twitter.
It's like a platform that breeds dogshit with it's structure. So many ruined careers and harassment, and so many people abusing it to make one sentence fuck yous before blocking everyone that looks at them wrong. Literally one of the worst things to happen to media and Yea Forums. Especially Yea Forums since usually, all the boards I'm interested in, have twitter drama killing ontopic threads.
Okay but I was born in ‘91 and still experienced all of this

Fuck. So true. I don't know what it was about Yea Forums from that time (well I have a few theories), in the early mid 2000s but the board quality was so much higher than it is now. It felt like you were talking with a gathering of real oddball but intelligent people. A board culture that wouldn't hesitate to either grow, or to destroy, anything, if they found the right conduit. I can't find a way to describe it that doesn't sound stupid or cringey. That meme about Yea Forums being "intelligent people pretending to be retarded" actually felt like it was somewhat true then. The posters felt like they actually lurked for a while before posting, you got a sense of them being well versed in the boards culture. If you posted some stupid shit you would get dunked on hard. You would be too embarrassed to even come back.
Now it really is simply a porn board and a floodgate for all the normies who think Yea Forums is just Yea Forums, and are too stupid to realize Yea Forums is not Yea Forums. Yea Forums moves so fast now that it's become far more impersonal and transient. Nothing can make a lasting impression on the board culture anymore, the sheer number of new posts and new threads means it's like shouting into a infinite void.
twitter and tumblr were both heavily influenced by something awful, which is the true culprit of of shit tier modern internet culture
Jace Thompson
That's not exactly a meme. Know how everything felt much bigger when you were a kid? Well that's because it literally was because you were only like 3 feet tall. Same thing with time. Smaller people feel time slower due to a faster resting metabolic rate.
Owen Williams
I graduated high school in 2011; I started in 2007, the year the iPhone came out. I literally do not know what adult life was like before smartphones, social media, etc. because I never experienced it. And even I am shocked by how different the world is now. Not just in the sense that I've gone from a college freshman to a 9-to-5 professional manager but I barely even recognize my hometown anymore. I remember when smartphones were still a tool to more conveniently do the things you would have done otherwise, and social media was a novelty distraction. Now it seems like people devote their time specifically to using social media whenever and wherever they can. I don't think in 2011 you would see groups of people sitting together at restaurants all staring silently at their phones.
Josiah Ortiz
>butthurt zoomer babies He's right. You'll never get it because you don't realize how much society has changed since the 1990s.
Landline to cellphone was a much more of sudden change in social relations than letter to phone. Only rich people had phones, they gradually spread to the wider population over the course of 50 years.
Smartphones appeared overnight in little more than 4 years. The iPhone came out in 2007 and by 2011 pretty much everyone had a smartphone.

It was in 2004 that animax started airing in my country.it was in 2004 that I accidentally summoned a tsunami. It was in 2004 that my closest mate in town left for some other country. It was in 2004 that Dad started a business. It was in 2004 that someone younger than me was born in my maternal family. The list is endless. Best thing was the internet of 2004

Oldfag here, 2007 was my 'last' summer of highschool. My college girlfriend came home with me - she was nerdy in highschool and never experienced things. We went home after my parents divorced and my younger (and cooler) brother had just graduated. We spent the entire summer 'illegally' drinking with those kids, having house parties and drinking in the woods. The best part was fucking her in the backseat of my Dad's car... though he was on vacation with his new girlfriend so he let us use his car while away.

I can't even imagine being allowed to listen to something like this when I was his age.

What about ebaumsworld, demonoid, etc.? Anyone remember the Habbo Hotel Raid or 2000s Gaia Online and their "movie theater" streaming chats?
Hunter Sullivan
The 90's were weird because it was the first time mainstream culture in the US wasn't almost entirely white. Most of the best selling albums in the 90's were rap and r&b .

So what was the last good era to be a kid in here?
They were all just sort of buffer sites like reddit is now. I think the early iterations of places like somethingawful benefited from having the sorts of people that would have posted here if they could. Once anonymity was figured out it was impossible to want to go back to their ridiculous circle jerks.

The early 60s, you blithering mental patient! Look at all that immature and childish media! You really liked 20% of that?

They played Dragonforce at my high school senior dance, at the local anime convention, there was a guy at my school who had Dragonforce on repeat on a boom box he carried with him through the school hallways
They were everywhere. Now here I am over ten years later watching Herman Li stream for extra whoring money on twitch

>be born in 1993 >older brother born in 1991 >enjoy high speed internet access starting in 2000 >fuck around with all sorts of fun games, learn about random shit, bulletin boards, play multiplayer games with friends, watch Newgrounds cartoons and discover music on filesharing sites >occasionally come across pictures of naked people cuddling. Only 8 years old and get feeling that it's not something I should be looking at so I just don't look at it. >early 2002 >mom thinks we are spending too much time on computer >puts timer on computer for one month as a warning. Only get hour of computer every day >wait it out, spend a lot of time watching TV, really get introduced to anime, spend a lot of time fucking around with pellet gun and fishing in backyard lake, riding scooters and inline skates. My friend down the street actually had unlimited computer but some timer on his tv, while I had unlimited tv, so we'd exchange. >month passes, timer is gone and we heed warning.
Cont. >everything is fine >March 30, 2003 >parents are really mad at my brother >mom suddenly says that my brother looked at sites with bad language and now the timer is back indefinitely. >doesn't make sense, we were allowed to hear bad language as long as we didn't use it. >cry like crazy >at least we still have internet >6 months pass >parents REALLY angry at brother >now no internet access. >despair >no more Call of Duty UO >All my friends at school plan stuff over AIM. I can't do that. Get left out. >don't know about latest early memes >only get to hear the music on the radio >end up going to my friend's house for way too long, friend starts to get tired of me being over. >spend summers watching daytime TV. >bored out of my mind >friend occasionally gets into arguments with me because I stay over too much. >cant do school projects well because I don't have time to research and type things, and if I ask for more time or internet access from my mom, she will demand A level effort instead of B or C level. >2005 >learn my brother was looking at porn >got caught because he went to a site that installed spyware >this causes me to have a weird attitude about sex that persists to this day >tell him to just use his imagination like I do >mom gets job, so we are left home alone during summer >friend learns about a keylogger >upload from flash drive >it works >tell my brother that he should only look at porn when parents are gone, and to cover his tracks. >three weeks later my brother is caught mid fap >parents change password >finally get internet in spring of 2007. >missed out on early Yea Forums, MySpace, NewGrounds >in late 2005 got put on ritalin and prozac. >couldn't use internet to find out that that shit was bad news >still have sexual dysfunction from taking Prozac during puberty. >also get anxious before having sex >didnt lose virginity until 25.
Tldr i only got glimpses of the internet between 2003 and 2007 and it fucked me up.

Was the food better? We're people as obsessed with race politics? Where did you grow up? Have things changes there for the better or worse? I'm a 26 year old zoomie btw
Aaron Jones
And now the shills have arrived and this work safe board is basically the front page of reddit. Where do we go from here, brother?
Thomas Garcia
food was ok i guess. hasn't changed much really. race issues between black and white where a thing but not as bad as now. back then most the white kids listened to grunge nirvana greenday etc and then the black kids where listening to 2pac and biggie.
things have gotten worse. overall. the world was a much simpler place back then. i think the lack of human interaction is what is fucking us up. we are social creatures and aren't mean to live our lives communication with each other by proxy through some handheld souless medium.
Were people more optimistic or happier back then? I was in third grade when 9/11 happened so all I've ever known was political hysteria and ironic nihilism.
Colton Bailey
the boondocks would never be able to air now days

Those things didn't happen in the nineties and I was asking more anecdotaly than anything.
Brody Hughes
Thought you were asking about the 2000s. The 90s, you say?
>Were people more optimistic or happier back then? yes both. 9/11 changed things but it actually was only a part of the change that made the world stop being like the 90s. once the 2000s came it brought tech innovations like broadband and that allowed the web to handle larger communities at faster speeds also computers became more commonplace where in the 90s only the rich kid on the block had a computer.
Nathaniel Bennett
TV was never good especially in America

How did things change after Columbine?
Caleb Foster
Broadband Internet was a godsend back then. It must've sucked living in a rural area when it was first introduced.
More like 1912. In 1913 the Federal Reserve Act passed enslaving the country to foreign bankers and their puppet Woodrow Wilson was sworn in as President. Had the Federal Reserve Act been crushed and Taft reelected, 20th century history would have taken a completely different turn for the better.
Camden Jones
Several schools banned trenchcoats
Asher Sanchez
The ironic nihilism was still there but so ridiculous there's no doubting it's sincerity. People actually dressed up like Matrix characters because they thought it was cool for a while (but only a portion of the turbonerds). Weebs were also way different back then, it's actually been amazing to see the internet wipe the ken-sama going to master the katana type almost out of existence. It has to hide itself in levels of irony now. There was a more direct conduit in melodrama that people related to.
Jason Morgan
>Supporting corrupt Howie instead of honorable Wilson
Fucking christ the anti-Wilson propagandists are out in droves these days
Joshua Wright
The shift in Music was signaling that long before it happened. MM became famous for a reason. The whole Alpha male Beta male war has been raging for a long time now. It's just that in Colorado on that day things finally came to a head. Must has been well beyond the typical school bully bs to push those kids over the edge like that. Anyway. To address your question. You could feel the change in the air. Like a milestone had been passed. Like "Wow. this is where we are now" But the 90s where almost over at that point so that even was really just a precursor to what awaited us in the 2000s and beyond.
Ryan Morales
Excellent post.
There have actually been some good articles in The Atlantic of all places on this sort of topic. The most recent one is titled "The Sex Recession", which is much better than you probably expect it to be. I'll try to dig up a few of the other ones, but yeah, the internet's impact on social relations has been a disaster beyond what most people can reckon.
Not really at all. Everyone blamed school bullying (and still do) so there was a push for "self-esteem" movements and the start of the introduction of "zero tolerance" polices in schools. This paved the way for poz to seep into the modern education system. Bullying probably had nothing to do with Columbine, one kid was a straight up psychopath who often bullied other students himself, and the other was just a gullible edgelord follower.

They were also drugged up or at least Eric was. It was just a perfect storm of nihilistic edgelords with a hatred of existence that managed to find each other and pull it off.
I guess. I did, but then again I see people I went to HS who look old and haggard. I get mistaken for mid-20s all the time. Got gray starting to show up in my beard, tho.

WIDF plz. Wilson is in the top 3 worst US Presidents behind FDR and LBJ. Wilson is in top 3 worst US Presidents behind FDR and LBJ.
>Be Wilson >Only win due to Teddy Roosevelt being tricked into running to split the Republican vote >Literally run your entire campaign on not involving the US in European Wars >Enter WWI anyway using false flag telegram >This sets the US up for further foreign entanglements that continue to this day >Institute draft, killing 116 thousand Americans >Sign Federal Reserve Act >Get put on money for being such a good goy >Form blue print for the League of Nations that eventually became the UN. >Go senile in last days of office and have wife make major decisions
Reminder no US involvement means WWI ends in a stalemate between Germany and Britain, and a working peace treaty would be signed. No monarchies being toppled means no fascists or communists take power. No WWII. At least Wilson regretted getting the US involved in European politics.

I know. I was being facetious. He completely sold the U.S.out.
>>The re election of Bush >>Approval ratings of Iraq began to dip >>Movies like Team America began to come out that were disillusioned with the American Dream >>People began to get over 9/11 and the "Bush is stupid" schtick began None of this was as important as you Gen X burnouts make it out to be.

Basically long hair on top, but buzzed or shaved on the sides and back like the girl in The Crow? From the images I looked up it seemed to be a unisex haircut.

>Becoming politically motivated, no longer enjoying movies or vidya like you used to. Not that surprising, that was the year smartphones became widely available and social media started to take off. To zoomers, especially late zoomers, they don't really remember the world before these things outside of their own lives, so there's no way for them to be nostalgic about what came before.

Yep. My second year of college opened up on Tuesday, September 11 2001.
A kid in my class had to leave to head to the city to help with the cleanup as he was active military. He later died in Iraq a few years later.
