so yeah the movie is pretty much what it seems. a teenage not-clark kent starts developing abilities and finds out he's not adopted but arrived in some kind of ship. and he's indeed a sociopath.
movie is slow. definitely more of a slow-burner kind of horror movie than a superhero flick. i liked it, but it would've been much better if it had come out before man of steel (or if man of steel had been a real superman movie and not the edgy shit it was)

It's basically set up like a horror movie with the kid (Brandon) being the monster. He stalks and kills, so there's tension, then death. Not really an edgefest at all. I would say the Kingsman flicks are a shitload more edgy than all of Brightburn. Kinda like Chronicle the ending is open enough they could make sequels, but also works if it ends up being the only movie.
