The comic book ending is canon to the show. You can see the squid shelters in the previews. Yea Forums keeps spreading the meme that it's a reboot and unconnected to the comic but it clearly is a sequel. They're just going to go with their own stories and not adapt the other Watchmen book.

My theory is that Rorshach's book came to light but everyone didn't believe in it. Everyone says it's fake and people start developing their own conspiracy theories around the alien attack. It'll be a play on conspiracy culture in the US and people not believing the truth when they're presented with it. So Ozzy ultimately got what he wanted because people were too stupid to believe what he had done and he'll have used fake news to help that along.

Fuckin lindelof. This is going to be 100% guaranteed let down boys. Probably good in the beginning due to help/phantom writers, then lindelof's true colors emerge

He doesn't take any money from the films that are made out of his work (at least those he doesn't own - he's made some films himself but they aren't based on anything.) All the money from the Watchmen movie goes to Dave Gibbons, all the V for Vendetta money goes to Dave Lloyd etc. It's worth noting that he did sell the film rights to his work years and years ago to begin with but it was in the 80s, where the only good superhero film was the first Superman and the rest were trash (okay, some of Superman 2 was alright.) At that point you'd sell the movie rights to whatever comic you've made, Alan gets a one time payment to pay his water bill and drug dealer and the movie never gets made. Turns out decades later those films do get made and Alan was a dingus but we can't all be Cassandras.

Even though Moore doesn't take any money from the films that are made from his comics he's still allegedly loaded. Apparently he made so much money from the Watchmen graphic novel that he bought a farm and gifted it to his anarcho-punk friends who grow dope for him. Supposedly he gave it to them practically for free on the condition that he's supplied with weed for life. According to Warren Ellis they deliver truckloads of it to him every month. Probably explains why some of his later work tends to be even weirder and rambling. Well that and the magic shit and seances involving the demon Asmodeous...

Shit, can we get an Alan Moore biopic instead of a crap Watchmen show?

Why doesn't Alan Moore just invoke Glycon's blessing and astrally project into the past to use mental suggestion to tell his younger self not to work with DC and remove the squid monster from Watchmen and hire an editor for Jerusalem?
