For Barry Lyndon; it's the movie's pacing (every scene flows beautifully into the next and isn't rushed, while matching the music really well) and sense of realism. It's an awkward film, in a good way, everything the characters say and do really feel like a part of the world, it's refreshing to see instead of something super dolled up with excessive cutting everywhere. Honestly the story gets boring for me at parts, but these other aspects of the film are so appealing that I find myself automatically drawn to the movie and re-watching it every year or so, or at least scenes of it.
