i can barely see jon he's so tiny hehe

So my wife and I were talking about GoT and why it's not very good any more, and her thesis is that everybody's kind of mentally checked out since Season 3 ended, but the big sacks of money they were handing out were too swollen to refuse so everybody has just been going through the motions for a couple years now.

fuck viserys, he's no dragon

Jon should have fought NK. He would be losing and then Bran unhodors him so he would turn back human. then we can hear whatever reason he wants to kill everyone, then jon wins

They ran out of source material and the books past Clash of The Kings are not very good. I kind of feel bad for everyone involved. Did the best they can and could.

>Jorah was never The Hand of Queen
IIRC he either wanted to be Hand before or was offered by Dany. Though, I'll admit to feeling cathartic over how he died. Would've just been a much bigger moment if he rode back (un)dead on that horse. Stakes and everything after would've been much bigger. But, considering what did happen after, it probably wouldn't had been worth cucking Jorah out of his ending.

>Jorah's death was kino and the only kino thing about S8.
I think Theon had a good end to his arc. Died defending the boy he tried to kill, in the castle he was raised in. Giving him the Stark emblem felt earned.

Getting btfo by all of westeros and losing 2 of his sons over a retarded war that he started which led to nothing?

Plenty of people do. Just not the characters we are following because they have shit to do. Those places are named to give a sense of scale, exotism and mystery and nothing more

They have ballistae why would they need dragons?

Why are the Wildlings going back North? What are they planning to eat? Wouldn't the army of the dead have killed and rezzed all the animals and people there? And not like Wildlings in the show are known to grow anything unlike the Thenns in the books. These retards are gonna starve

Jaime had a retarded reason for going back to Cersei. Literally his season 1 motivation, despite not being season 1 Jaime.

At least now he can teleport for the next big moment, what a rushed shitshow of a season. Funny because HBO was even going to allow them to film more episodes and fund it.

Just wait until you get back to Season 2. It's the best season.

remember when jorah was briefly touched by a stoneman and then a few minutes later he got the greyscale...kinda funny how bran and arya were touched by the nights king without any consequence.

Idiot. Jaime isn't going back to be with Cersei. He knows it. He's doing what he knows is right. What was right for his entire life was to be with her. That's why he's telling himself this now but this isn't the Kingslayer, his name is Jaime. If he told himself he was going back to stop his lover, his sister, the mother of his children, do you think he could muster the strength to go?

This was kino at its finest and most of you supposedly sharp viewers absolutely missed it.

Can you elaborate on why? I've been thinking about reading the books but it they hit a high note right off the bat and slowly become less interesting I'll just not waste my time.

accept that your roommate is dumb

to be honest i felt the same way when i watched the first few episode of season 1 got, but then i rewatched it and kinda forced myself and now i'm here and think S1 is the best. also isn't ep 9 where ned gets beheaded? that kinda changes everything for some people.

Attached: 1544966167829.jpg (225x225, 13K)

he's wrong. the first 3 books are good, after a storm of swords it goes to shit and turns into "lets introduce this character and that character and this character and lets move them around the entire book and not accomplish much in terms of plot."

And my sister, you know what they did to her?

well he's retarded first of all, Storm of Swords is the best book. they do fall off after that, mainly because 4 and 5 were originally supposed to be one book, but there are still plenty of good chapters in them.

GRRM got high on his own success and quintupled down until there were too many plots and characters

lol did she actually look like that?

And a real hero
Back against the wall and odds
With the strength of a will and a cause
Your pursuits are called outstanding

Against the grain of dystopic claims
not the thoughts your actions entertain
and you have proved to be
A real human being and a real hero
Real human being and a real hero
Real human being and a real hero
Real human being and a real hero
Real human being
A pilot on a cold, cold morn’
One-hundred fifty-five people on board
All safe and all rescued
From the slowly sinking ship
Water warmer than, his head so cool
In that tight bind knew what to do
And you have proved to be
A real human being and a real hero
Real human being and a real hero
Real human being and a real hero
Real human being and a real hero

Attached: biana.png (1920x1080, 781K)

Is Dany really planning to burn King's Landing knowing from Tyrion that there's wildfire everywhere?

Did the writers make her forget that too like she forgot about marriage alliances or Euron and the Iron Fleet?

Did we really need 3 separate angles during a half second dodge

What really fucks me off is that 'Yara''s cruelty to Theon was a big part of why he ended up going the way he did, and yet the show treats her like a hero for trying to get him back when it was her that drove him into Ramsay's rape cage in the first place. Does she ever even acknowledge her guilt?

Wouldn’t it be kino if Dany just goes full madwoman, kills everyone in King’s Landing and Jon not only doesn’t plot against Dany but saves her from backstabbers and at the end they rule together as heels?

Facts about Asshai:
>Asshai is physically big enough to fit Volantis, Quarth, King's Landing, and Oldtown combined in it, yet it only has the population of a small fishing hamlet
>It is ancient beyond even the reckoning of the written records of Essos, having been said to have existed since the world itself began
>Every building in the city is constructed from a slimy black stone that drinks the light of the sun, leaving none behind for its inhabitants
>The city is split by a massive river known as the River Ash, but the river is poisoned and glows a phosphorescent green by night. Only fools and shadowbinders eat the fish that live in it, since they are deformed and blind
>There are no children in Asshai. All who dwell in the city conceal their faces with masks or veils
>Sorcery and devil worship is freely permitted in the city, with its citizenry openly consorting with demons
>Upwind of the city is the haunted corpse city of Stygai, from which the polluted Ash river flows. Only demons, dragons, and worse live in Stygai. It sits at the heart of a valley whose walls are so high and steep that the sun only shines over it at noon. Not even the shadowbinders of Asshai dare set foot in it.

I get his struggle between his identities. He just wants to go home and be welcomed by his father with open arms. Any man wants the acknowledgement of their father. But again, that first scene in front of him where he just degrades him, then Asha (Yara) comes in and they both just shit on him constantly for being a soft landfag should have tipped him off. Even in the best of scenarios, after that he should have scene the conflict between him and his sister. His father obviously loved her more. Theon was a constant reminder of his own failure and kneeling. She was there and was the "son" he needed after his other sons died. There's a very good chance that Balon would just name Yara his heir regardless of Theon's accomplishments assuming he had many in the Iron Fleet.
It sucks, but his best bet was to just go back to Robb, help him out, and get some castle in the North if that all worked out. And I say this as a huge Theon fan, I'm not saying he should have been some pussy, it's just the situation at hand.

Oh Dany girl the bells the bells are ringing.

Holy fuck.

You are judging characters by moral principles they do not hold or understand. Mercy, compassion etc are not a big deal in the iron islands. the autist pirate vikings only respect strenght and cunning, theon had neither.

The first two are not native english speakers and probably do not share the same native language, and yet they must sperg. The third is probably just a retard, though.

Attached: 1557403337633.jpg (620x413, 26K)

Wrong, there's an entire region and characters in the show based on spain/italy/greece

I'm not judging them by principles they don't hold, the show is. It's the show that treats her as a hero for trying to help him after the fact. I don't complain about Balon because he was consistently portrayed as a cunt, and rightly so.

we can dream

Attached: Sos 43.png (1123x608, 213K)

Where exactly is this hinted at? It's plausible that he needed to tell himself this to get out of a new relationship he literally had dreams about (in the book) and fought for (in both) but I didn't see this on-screen this episode.

The above is what I was going to send but I rewatched it. What the missive Sansa and Brienne were reading actually suggest is that Cersei is winning, and Jaime knows that she doesn't care who she has to step on or what horrible things she'll have people do in order to have her way.

It's possible Jaime is saying she's a person who hates those who get in her way. While he's a hateful person who's channeled that into hatred over who he used to be, while using that side to push him back to where he needs to be. Unless D&D really fuck up, he probably isn't S1 Jaime and probably won't pine after her, rather, try to stop her for once (and then become Azor Ahai).

The way you typed that it sounds like he has a horn growing out of his head.

>These cities are so ancient that there exists no written record anywhere of their founding, and their histories include peoples from ages so long ago that all memory of them besides their mere existence has faded
>These cities are also constructed entirely from Black Stone, and demon worship is permitted entirely
>And at some point in the ancient, unwritten past they JUSTed themselves so hard that they're STILL experiencing the nuclear fallout
>Meanwhile in Sothoryos, another city named Yeen is also made entirely from Black Stone. Despite the city being literally surrounded by jungle, the vegetation simply cannot even begin to reclaim it after thousands of years of laying deserted and all attempts to resettle it result in the settlers mysteriously vanishing, or worse
Coincidence?

Honestly leaving out all the Lovecraftian shit is one of the biggest crimes of the show. I wanted to see a fucking Kraken

Book Euron is shaping up to be the actual final boss of the books alongside the Night King, which is awesome as hell. Too bad we got this shit for the shows, even if the actor's good.

how tf do u make these

>Massive budget for a television show
>Final bad guy army named the fucking "Golden Company", played up to be this amazingly powerful and exotic mercenary company with war elephants and thousands of cavalry looks like a mismatched group of conscripted peasants with 0 (zero) leg armour
>Couldn't even get the guys in the front row to all have the same armor vest

Okay, I get the writing going to shit when they ran out of source material, but why did the fucking costumes and armor have to go to shit as well? I understand you can't have armor like pic related for every side character, but they've shown that they're capable of making uniform looking forces in the past, and at least give the guys that get a close up good looking armor.

What the fuck is the Black Stone bros

WHAT IS IT???

Good observation user, I wondered a similar thing when I first read about Sothoryos too

The old "gods" are just skinchangers living on in the weirwood trees after death.

One of the leakers is back posting and answering questions

>I was wondering if you could describe how the Jon killing Daenerys scene will play out? Does he do it in cold blood?
>The tone of it is very tragic. It's kind of like she's completely consumed by madness and he's saying how much he loves her and he's loyal to her, then he stabs her when he gets close enough. It's obviously traumatizing for him to do because he does love her. This is actually the one thing I hope they keep in the books, and it wouldn't surprise me if that's where they got it from. Obviously, the show didn't do a good job of getting to this endpoint in a way that makes sense for the characters, so it feels sudden and unearned, but I could see the books pulling it off.

>Thank you! He does it to save millions of people right?
>Yeah, at that point Jon is horrified by what Dany has done to King's Landing, and she gives speeches about how she'll keep doing it to free slaves from their chains. He's also convinced by Tyrion that his family will never be safe because he presents a threat to her rule, so he's motivated by that as well, I'm sure.

>Wow Jaime was my favorite character and when I first saw the original leaks I didn't believe him because what he did made no sense. Hit since the leaks seem to be right, it just makes me mad to see him go in such a dumb way. Do we see the Lannisters getting burned alive or it's just another off screen death? Most things happen off screen this season anyways...
>The room/building they're in collapses on them.

>Is this at least like a drawn out death scene? Or is it as underwhelming as it sounds?
>Well, it's dramatic. King's Landing is on fire, getting sacked, so the building is collapsing around them. They're both distraught and emotional. But it's still pretty lame, IMO.

Don't take it too seriously user. Its side material that mostly exists for Lovecraft fanboys.

sellswords breh their armor isn't going to look the same

but i agree it looks like shit

please let this show end so i can slit my wrists on a heavy dose of vicodin and drift away to sweet sleep

>conveniently, an ice zombie army exists just beyond the wall that he can break down with a conveniently mind-controlled dragon
what's his endgame?

>but why did the fucking costumes and armor have to go to shit as well?
Apparently they changed costume directors at some point.

Slitting your wrists sounds extremely painful. I never understood why it was the preferred way out by teenage girls who can't even handle a little bit of bullying.

>Wrecked by flameboi worshippers
>flameboi worshippers form hyperadvanced valyrian civilisation powered by magic

>Do you have any other information you can share?
>Hmm. Nothing major that I haven't mentioned. In the epilogue, the unsullied leave to cross the sea and start liberating slave cities on their own, because that's Dany's plan before Jon kills her -- she has this big speech scene, after sacking King's Landing, where she's talking about wrecking the world, liberating all of the slaves from their masters. When they're deciding who to elect as king, Sam suggests holding a democratic election and the other nobles laugh at him. That's before they vote on Bran. The Golden Company gets absolutely wrecked by the Unsullied. Arya tries to save civilians while KL is being sacked but fails, and leaves. Her plan is to kill Cersei but the Hound tells her that no one is going to survive Dany and to get out alive (before he fights his brother and dies). Dany's whole plan for every combat situation is "let Drogon handle it," including the scorpions, which works fine for some reason even though she lost a dragon to one last episode. All of that's out of order, obviously, but yeah.

>Hello thank you so much for all you had said.I wanted to know have you seen the last Jon scene?Does he reunite with tormund? Also do you know if Jon fights grey worm?
>Jon and Greyworm fight the Golden Company together, and Jon surrenders to the Unsullied after killing Dany, but I don't recall any big fight scene between them. I haven't seen Every Single Scene, but I can't think of where one would fit, either. Maybe if Jon prevents Greyworm from killing someone during the sack, but I didn't watch anything like that myself. I didn't see Tormund again in the show, but again, that doesn't mean it's not there.

It's treason to kill 2 pieces of prime shota meat.

one man's side material is another man's foreshadowing. and it's not exactly side material because the Seastone Chair is also made from Black Stone as are the foundations of Hightower. And Euron, who is currently sailing to Hightower, wants to summon Cthulu.

First 3 are good, Feast for Crows is a slog, Dance with Dragons is meh.

Im only in it to see what happens to Stannis

people who slit their wrists aren't trying to kill themselves, it's a plea for attention. when women actually want to kill themselves, they use pills.

He's going to bring about the entrance for the White Walkers over the wall, and then become overwhelmed by them and his own hubris. It seems like he's been perfectly set up for a flying-too-close-to-the-sun storyline, at least to me. I want Victarion to be the one to kill him.

>This is actually the one thing I hope they keep in the books
The others are a legit threat in the books. If Dany actually tries to go for muh throne after the long night I'll fucking riot.

Lmao , what?

>Hi there. Thanks for giving us those leaks. It actually helps to prepare for it. People really are going to need therapy. One question I have is, do you have any context on Jon taking the black again? Is he forced to do it? Is there some sort of trial? Or is it entirely voluntary because he wants to give up his claim to the throne forever?
>I'm really unclear about why Jon takes the black, but it seems more like he makes the decision himself, or that he makes the decision in conjunction with other people. It doesn't seem like he's forced to do it, or at least not that he's doing it against his will. He's pretty defeated after killing Dany.

>Hey leaker! Thank you for all the information (and if I may say so, well done!!). You explained well how legitimate leakers see the episode in chopped up, incomplete state. So, this question might pointless. But, here goes. Out of curiosity, in terms of the way you wrote the leaks, is there a specific reason why you put the following four sentences together? E.g., not as say "Jaime betrays the North. Brienne tries to talk to him but he refuses" but as: Jaime betrays the North. Missandei is captured. Dany's army captures Jaime. Brienne tries to talk to him but he refuses.
>So the reasons for my interpretation mistakes there: I didn't have dialogue in any Jaime scenes except the last one, which made it confusing. I saw Jaime's scenes out of order. Jaime's ending didn't make a lot of sense to me with everything that came before it, which is just because of bad writing, so it was pretty difficult to make sense of everything I'd seen. I figured the scene with Brienne must have involved more of a betrayal considering her reaction, him getting captured, and the tone of his ending scene. It seems now that he just kinda meanders his way to Cersei and dies. You'll see a lot of the Jaime stuff, like him getting captured on the way to KL, happen next episode... well, actually, all the Jaime stuff, since he dies.

Why is Dany sacking KL, again? Why does literally anybody in the whole world care if KL gets sacked at this point?

Faceless men worship the great other

KL and Winterfell are the only two locations that D&D consistently remember exist, and Dany is in control of the latter, so she has to sack the former.

The Great o\Other is but one of the faces He wears. There is only one god and his name is Death.

>GRRM confirmed in 2014 that Jeyne Westerling, Robb's wife, will appear in Winds of Winter

Stoked after just seeing this.

so this is who they've been catering to

All the characters except Dany forgot they're living in what's essentially the medieval era. they think they're in the 22nd century where war shouldn't have civilian casualties and attacking military targets shouldn't involve human collateral.

Reminder that even modern warfare will bomb places full of civilians even if it involves killing dozens of civilians.

Valyria is basically Antlantis. The faceless men started as slaves in their volcano mines, and likely did something to cause the volcanoes to blow and wipe out the city.

Faceless Men were founded by a guy who heard so many Valyrian slaves begging for death that he became convinced that it was his religious duty to grant them the "gift" that released them from their suffering. This eventually grew into the order of the Faceless Men as we understand it today. This was back when they were still based in the slums of Valyria, mind you. The volcanoes that were the source of Valyria's riches were controlled and tamed by magic. Suddenly the mages in charge of the volcano taming began dropping like flies, then Valyria exploded. Coincidence?

More shit from the leaker, not in any particular order

>Cool. Can you tell me Cersei’s “story” in the episode? Apparently she surrenders? Can you tell me how that goes down? And how does she react to Jaime coming back?
>Honestly not sure, the Cersei scenes seemed to be heavy on dialogue and I couldn't hear it in most of them. She kinda just retreats to where Jaime finds her, which I guess makes sense since there's not really much she can do with the scorpions taken out, the iron fleet scorched, and the Golden Company slaughtered.

>Thank you. As a Cersei and Lena fan I'm just glad she at least gets to finally speak in this episode lol. Do you know why Jaime and Euron fight? Is it just out of sexual jealousy because Euron fucked her or is it more than that?
>Euron initiates the fight but I have no idea why.

other leaks here

In-universe that's one of the leading theories on what happened. Valyria was build right next to a bunch of volcanoes, since that's where the Dragons liked to be, and they used blood magic to keep them from blowing up. The theory goes that either they ran out of slaves to sacrifice or too many of their mages died, leading to the spells failing.
The head faceless guy implies to Arya that they were the ones responsible for destroying valyria, so they likely killed the blood mages.

chilling in Lys according to DWD

That doesn't explain why ships that journey to Valyria never return.

That doesn't explain why Jaeherys the Concilator's niece returned on Balerion from Valyria covered in horrific burns, and her body infested by worms with human faces.

That doesn't explain why Mantarys, the city just to the north of Valyria, has such a high rate of deformed children.

Valyria is a place cursed by magic to be inhospitable to human life, just like the Lands of Always Winter, Sothryos, Asshai etc. Why this is the case, or which god cursed Valyria, is up for debate.

I remember one theory where the Lannisters buying Brightroar had something to do with it.

>What about Ghost? Can you describe Jon’s final scene? Does it show him arrive at Castle Black or anything and reunite with Ghost?
>I'm sorta mum on this because the epilogue scenes were very WIP when I saw them and I'm anxious about revealing the precise amount of information I know about them, haha. Let's just say I didn't see a whole lot of specifics and what I saw might not even be in the final episode, besides what I already mentioned. Sorry dude, hopefully it turns out to be a good little ending montage. People seemed pretty pissed about Ghost.

>Oh one more question. Can you see the cleganebowl leaks pinned as top comment? Are they accurate to your knowledge?
>Yeah all that stuff about the Clegane fight is accurate, I think. I didn't see any eye gouging but that doesn't mean it isn't in there. They both topple into the fire together, and you do see him without his helmet.

Holy shit , first time hearing about this. I always thought valyria was destroyed because they got cursed by a witch . Based faceless men btfoing valyrian niggers.

valyria is still burning and the sea around valyria probably destroys ships. tyrion sees valyria from a distance when he's travelling on a boat, he's hundreds of miles away and he sees a red glow on the horizon and someone tells him its valyria

I think he did before the war started. If they met at Harrenhal then that was the same tourney Rhaegar met Lyanna (and before he kidnapped her). That means big bro Brandon Stark was still alive and engaged to Cat, so Ned was a free man to chase some Dornish tail. Then Aerys killed Brandon and everything got screwed up.

Attached: sophie-turner-at-game-of-thrones-season-4-press-conference_3.jpg (1200x1803, 217K)

That comes from this passage of WoIaF:
>The wealth of the westerlands was matched, in ancient times, with the hunger of the Freehold of Valyria for precious metals, yet there seems no evidence that the dragonlords ever made contact with the lords of the Rock, Casterly or Lannister. Septon Barth speculated on the matter, referring to a Valyrian text that has since been lost, suggesting that the Freehold's sorcerers foretold that the gold of Casterly Rock would destroy them.
The leading theory is that whoever sold Brightroar to the Lannisters then used the gold he got for it to pay for the assassination of his rivals by the faceless men, and that among these rivals happened to be the wizards that kept the volcanoes under control.
Feast for Crows, when he tells Arya about the first Faceless man:
>Arya drew back from him. “He killed the slave?” That did not sound right. “He should have killed the masters!”
>“He would bring the gift to them as well … but that is a tale for another day, one best shared with no one
