Besides the weird stories, the over the top voice acting, and the autistic sync with soundtrack that some directors do is what makes it so likeable to me.

I think that the possibility of having the outrageous scenarios without a budget particularly bigger than a simple slice of life anime helps the writers let their creativity run wild too
