3 was boring and poorly written and the characters weren't interesting enough to compensate for it. first episode does an alright job of setting up the show but then it just goes nowhere. i think season 1 was a one-off thing, we should consider ourselves lucky that it happened and came together as well as it did. won't happen again

1 is the best.
2 is different but good
3 comes in a better presentation than 2 but is factually worse.
The anthology has gone in order of quality so far.

I think 3 had a great setup but no punchline so people are quick to say it was good because they don’t want to admit the ending was trash

Using southern gothic but modernized and in a non-horror context was absolutely genius. It's such a fucking aesthetic theme.

2 is objectively shit

everybody will try to vincepost as a meme but it's really bad.

all 3 were cliches, pizza should've never threw out his original and started from scratch because it shows he was rushed for time

woodrugh was cliche with muh combat ptsd and secretly closeted
velcoro was cliche with muh dirty cop but struggling to be a good dad
bezzerides was cliche with muh alcoholism and trying to be taken seriously in a man's world

The ending on s3 was trash , thats something the whole humanity is on agreement.

It was however super good presented which helped mask a lot of the shit that was going on.

It's absolutely better than season 1 and anyone who says otherwise in a edgy neet.

1 is great, 2 is decent with some shining moments, 3 is shit with a few gold scenes

As someone who has browsed Yea Forums long term and have never watched any of TD, I've heard up and down about how amazing s1 is and how much of a dumpster fire s2 is. With that, I've made it a point to start with s2 first because the first is always the most memorable.
Idk it doesn't seem bad by any means. I mean, I don't watch crime dramas really. But it definitely felt like a premium show being on HBO. Rachael McAdams is cute; I never had a thing for Colin Ferral due to personal reasons, but I didn't hate his character; I like Vince Vaughn in general; music was good; all the wide shots of CA traffic gave me absolute anxiety in how anyone could possibly drive in that clusterfuck at all.
But yeah, I didn't think it was bad at all. And you guys mean to tell me that s1 is godlike and perfect in comparison?

season 2 caught a bad rap but after the dust settled, i rewatched a month ago and its got its own charm, very recommend. 1 is still the best, of course. 3 is real bad... unlike 2, i couldnt even finish the season so i doubt i'll come around on this one
