I wish GotG 2 was consistent, but it's just a mess of comedy and supposedly serious moments. Winter Soldier, Iron Man 1, and even Endgame were more properly balanced in that regard.

Yeah they needed a better "b" plot for the other Guardians to dick around with and somehow tie to Quill's whole thing

I dont think endgame has a good balance, infinity war does it better, but i can agree endgame is more funny, has some cringy jokes but atleast boomer hulk is funny and millenial hulk just by existing makes it funnier.

Iron Man 1 is the best and every other choice is just wrong.

I never was. The movie genuinely ends with a countdown to blue laser from the sky that's heroically stopped at 00:01. Not as a parody, we're actually supposed to be taken by the dramatic tension.

They're both girls I'm pretty sure.

I can watch it again and again without ever feeling bored and it has one of the most memorable scores imo from the MCU.

The name drop of Strange was Ridiculous, if the algorithm was omniscient enough to predict that he would get in a car crash and go on to become a wizard, then Hydra should’ve had way more of an idea of basic things like Fury getting suspicious

Really? I thought GotG2 was the best marvel movie next to Infinity War, and GotG1 was just ok. I felt like watching an old space adventure comedy anime while watching GotG2, which is what was my favourite thing about it.

The Winter Soldier is good and better than most Marvel films but as the kind of thriller it is, it's less good than its ilk and in terms of its qualities inherent to Marvel, it's not as good as others. It also fell too hard for the desaturation meme that's been plaguing capeshit for too long. It's my sixth or seventh favorite MCU film.

For all we know the highly acclaimed and incredibly rich Dr Stephen Strange was a donator to political causes, consulted for lobbyists on medical issues, pushed for innovative medical tech that would make various corporations or individuals unhappy, etc etc. It wasn't a list of superheroes, it was a list of individuals who the algorithm had deemed politically unacceptable.

That whole bit of the plot is a bit James Bond desu, slightly jarring when the rest of the movie was aping the tone of political thrillers.
One day a bunch of helicarriers just fly around and execute several thousand random people wherever they are with 120mm automatic cannon from two miles up....okay.

Imagine how insane conspiracy theories are in the MCU, with all the strange and fucked up things that've gone on in full view of the public. Think there are people that remember when Strange kept rewinding time? Or people that think the whole Thanos thing was manufactured by the deep state to make people worship capes?

Yes. To me it's still the best, although surprised Endgame came close, but that's got the benefit of being Avengers and the conclusion.

Nothing can top that cast and simple spy thriller theme. I liked how everything was still a bit more grounded too. Less superhero and more James Bond. I'm probably putting Endgame so close because Robert Redford reprized his role and I just loved his character and he's an amazing actor.
