Why are we so drawn to him? Why does he need do nothing but stare and demand we kneel and accept him as king? How can one man have such a magnanimous aura?
What Makes Him So Based?

It's mostly bookfags saying he is a powerhouse and they're right. In the show he had a couple good scenes but is pussywhipped by melisandre and dies like a bitch. The show destroyed stannis
He's a bitter and uncharismatic weirdo, completely convinced of the righteousness of his worldview even if literally nobody gives a fuck about him or what he has to say.
The connection is obvious.
He killed his daughter anyone who supports this man is a sociopath.
Is he, dare I say it, an incel?
Even in the show, I think due to Stephen Dillane's portrayal and some other factors. Like I'm a total Stannis loyalist (J still believe!) and I've never touched the books.
People obsess over him because the show didn’t do him justice, like every other character, he’s ten times better in the books. Stephen Dillane did give a good performance though. Imagine him reciting these kino lines

Yeah I'll always prefer the stoic, quiet and understated type of leader. Stannis exudes quiet confidence in the show, he is a studious man that believes in fairness/justice, the natural order/rule of law and that hard work and planning has its own rewards.
He's not governed by emotion, he's governed by a set of principles and codes. He adheres to a higher standard than just base human emotion, desire and ego and for me that made him absolutely standout, in the show at least.
I would follow Stannis into darkness. I would not follow the menopausal whims of the dragon roast or her cucky Jonsnu.
He symbolises every one of us who was passed over a promotion or ignored when we were best qualified or next in line just because we didn't have enough of a normie personality or the right friendships or connections that pander to the lowest common denominator.
Basically this, he was too good for the world of Dumb and Dumber and would've created a plot hole just by existing, gone, but not forgotten.
why is he a good doggo? why does he need do nothing but demand to be petted s
True.
I don't really know why he has a fanbase. He's a decent leader but are we forgetting that he lost? He wasn't betrayed like all the other leaders. He lost on the field of battle and then was slaughtered like the rest of his army.
My guess is that he reminds betas of their missing father figure or some shit so they love him.
He killed his only child because some witch looked into the fire so he is a pathetic beta cuck by all accounts. Also he got killed by a woman which is embarrassing. I wish I could spit on his face.
He's in the frontline fighting among his men even when the situation seems dire and literally has to be dragged off battle kicking and screaming. He's such a quintessential character women simply don't understand. You just gotta respect that.
*ring* *ring*
It's for you, Yea Forums
He wasn't a frontline fighter nor did he get dragged off battle kicking in the books. His knights begged him to flee the blackwater and he did. This doesn't make him any less based.
His arc is about a just man who slowly loosens his morals. He starts out saying "a good action doesn't wash out a bad one" and ends up as a character who'll do bad actions for the greater good, such as burning his nephew. This is done very gradually and organically, which makes him a great character.
He's also got some of the greatest moments in the books and show too. His talk about proudwing and care for Cressen cement his compassion on a personal level, while the battle at Castle Black shows that he cares for the realm. Ironically he's exactly what Varys says he wants. His greatest fault is that he expects everyone to be like him.
His snarks are top tier too, like him calling Manderly Lord Lard or what he tells toJanos Slynt.
Even if he is not the Prince who was promised, he is the King who cared.
>being a showfag
Read the books
...
I love him anons... I FUCKING LOVE HIM AND I MISS HIM!!!
Same with Ryan Gosling, autism
Because he names the Jew.
He's coming back lads, I feel it in my bones.
Holy shit...
This might be the first time I've seen the left pull off a meme.
Did you make this?
>brilliant military strategist
>literally is undone by 20 good men and then killed by a woman
Pathetic.
Ill killfor him regardless. Stannis martyrs. Let's wildfire these fucking kafir dogs!
Because people who don't only watch the show resonate with his sense of justice, his meritocratic views, his desire to reform a corrupt system and his good-evil morality where he makes decisions with people's well-being in mind and he sets himself back to do the right thing. It's no wonder that jews hate him and want to ruin him.
Max Weber argues that there are three types of legitimacies for a ruler:
1. Traditional legitimacy, being the rightful heir.
2. Charismatic legitimacy, by acting like a true leader, putting your money where your mouth is, risking your life, being in the front of the battlefield, treating your subordinates with respect, maybe severity, but justice and gratitude ultimately.
3. Legal legitimacy: having a grade, being colonel of an army or something.
Stannis is the only one who has all three. And now it's Jon Snow.
It's just a meme
He has authority and actually is the rightful king.
He is always at the front of his army, like a true leader.
And he has no fancy speeches and is blunt and short.
Dillane is one of my favorite actors. In the show it simply comes down to that.
>only king that actually gave a shit about the undead menace coming
He had his priorities straight until dabid decided he should burn his daughter.
By the highest law of the realm, Stannis claimed kingship by blood.
He then proceeded to betray that blood by assassinating his brother and immolating his only child.
Stannis earned his failure and did not deserve the throne.
I'm not drawn to that stupid faggot at all. A self righteous shit with a thinly veiled god complex? No rhanks
He would be based if he beat renly fairly instead of assassinating him like a bitch
Lawful Neutral is objectively the most kino alignment.
>the show destroyed stannis
the show runners character assassinated stannis, more like
The boys will redeem him, however.
jon wouldnt be alive if he didnt
It's because he doesn't want to be king, but he sees it as what he has to do. He isn't in it for glory, or because he has something to prove, he's fighting to take back the realm because he's the rightful king, and the situation called for a man like him, so he self took up the call. He might be prickly, bitter, and uncompromising, but his vision is one that only concerns the good of the realm. Varys and Littlefinger should've been executed.
they insulted him a little bit
Not canon nigger. In the books, some of his men at arms attempt to sacrifice someone and he tells them to pray harder.
He was character-assassinated and is therefore an underdog.
To be fair, if the shoe was on the other foot, we all know Renly would pull some kind of shit like that because homos have literally no honor.
Read a book, normie
Thank you.
