show != books

The fanbase is full of shit, they just love how it is fantasy soap opera with nudity and violence. Buncha fucking plebs the lot of you.

He's not writing the show. I don't think he's writing the books either, but still. You can't blame him for how terrible seasons 6-8 have been.

I guess you could say it takes fantasy to destroy fantasy.

The night king and all the "lore" behind him were completely made up by the showrunners. I'm expecting something a lot more interesting if he ever finishes the books.

the show is absolute ass. night king is not even a fucking character in the books and all wights don't explode if you kill their cpu like the droids in phantom menace or chitauri in avengers. jesus christ what a cop out. also no one knows that robert strong is the mountain. i could go on all day. this is dildos!

Women were a mistake

Eh. I was going to defend GRR, but then I remembered that Winds of Winter was also a load of crap and a giant decline in quality, so I'd be not surprised if the show is sort of following his plot and fatty has just lost it completely.

Is it actually confirmed somehow that the novels won't feature the very same conclusion to the Others menace, but told in a much more meandering and circumlocutious way?

Winds of Winter hasn't released yet, showfag.

I highly doubt there will be an ending, but if he had something planned it definitely wouldn't be that. Just isn't his writing style. Not to say he'd write something perfectly satisfying, it'd probably be a rather ambiguous end.

Oh, Jesus fuck. Fine, I meant Dances with Dragons.
Who cares? The generic titles are just random word salad anyway.

The books don't even have the Night King, you dolt.

Wh*Toid 'women' u mean fool

And it isn't going to, while the fat man still breathes.

You've already outed yourself. You can stop pretending you've read the books now.

>common zombie can't be killed with a normal sword

I know you're trying to compete with LotR, but you can't just make up these bullshit rules just because you want your antagonists to be as scary as Sauron

Of course I haven't read the books. Who the fuck has time to READ books?
I pirated the audiobooks, like a normal person.

>I highly doubt there will be an ending
I really unironically believe he's counting on dying first

>can only kill White Walkers with dragon stone and valyrian steel because they are "cold/petrified" fire or some shit
>zombie dragon can spit fire without killing himself
>NK somehow is immune to direct fire from a fucking dragon

>tfw Dany is the newgame+ final boss

Actually you can. He set his work up in such a complicated way that he himself couldn't write himself out of it. The last book came out in 2011 ffs, despite his pleas to have finished it and chaining himself to the desk.
Now we expect 2 fanbois to do the work for him in the series.
D&D are TV people, they do visual stuff not glorious dialogues and byzantine interactions. Jabba the Martin and D&D should be equally blamed. For getting our expectations up and raising quality to a new level only to fail miserably concluding it.

He's cashed the check for the next book, he's all done. They can't pursue litigation against him in Hell.

It's has tiddies and blood spatters. It's gritty and mature. Refreshing that someone is willing to make a show with themes adults can enjoy. Thanks HBO and GRRM.

>zombie dragon can spit fire without killing himself
I knew the second I saw Viserion spit blue fire that the final season of the show was fucked.

All of the spirals that the White Walkers were drawing with dead parts of humans they slaughtered could have easily been explained as complex spells/rituals to bring down the wall. Could have also made Mance look more heroic and intelligent by trying to gather as many people he could and get south, so the walkers would never have the biomass to perform their twisted spell.

When it was down, they didn't need to do it any more - so remove scene of the glover kid or whoever it was in the hall this season. Not have a fucking dragon knock it down with blue fire, is that even hot? The Wall was supposed to be protected by magic not just be a physical barrier that blue fire could knock down. Don't tell me it was knocked down with magic either. that's bullshit

ironic then that you write like you're 12

How could I be twelve if I'm posting on Yea Forums and watching NC17 TV? Only adults do that.

asoiaf is barely a fantasy, that's why it was adapted in the first place. it's just the tudors with dragons.

"Barely a fantasy" doesn't really fit when most major plot points involve heavy use of really specific magic

I don't get why people are still blaming GRRM for this. He had nothing to do with the later seasons and despite him having his dumb moments, especially when he tries to critique Tolkien, he's still miles above D&D.

Isn't he involved in a consulting capacity at least; I mean, I'm guessing at some point he learned they were going to make all bad guys asplode when their boss was killed and he had to say "OK"

Pretty sure he's too busy with Giants games and triple cheeseburgers to do any consulting

He doesn't even mention the show. He was watching Last Kingdom and praising it while completely ignoring the existence of GoT. I imagine he's under contract that forbids him from saying too many negative things or he just doesn't want to hurt DABID'S feelings. But he definitely has no input on the show.

there will definitely be a payoff to the Azor Ahai/prince that was promised prophecy in the books, it might not be 100% unambiguous but he won't just forget about it like the GoT showrunners did, and there is no sign whatsoever that Arya is the prince that was promised (it currently seems to be three people -- Aegon, Daenerys, and an unknown third)
