DC vs Marvel

At what point did you realize the DCEU is better than the MCU?

Yikes

Reddit the post.

SEETHING

MCU has a handful of pretty good movies with most being dull to bad.

DCEU has one really good movie but everything else is really bad.

DCEU is extremely edgy and bad though.

The most reddit post I have seen so far.
>Man of Steel
Then it progressively gets worse because of WB freaking out at Snyder simply doing what was asked.

>DCEU

Who

Imagine being this wrong.

Reddit

Ew, gross.

Samefag

I like Superman and Captain America about the same. Why does the general populace not like the stoic heroic lawful good characters? They have always been my favorite.

DC is better than Marvel. But certainly not in the EU category

>DC is better than Marvel
Indeed. There will be dips in quality from time to time but DC with the Trinity is at it's best.

Attached: Welling.jpg (758x1005, 82K)

It really isn't.

Which is a shame, because I really like Cavill as Supes. It's an absolute shame to waste him.

the fact they scrapped the nick cage superman way back when proves DC will always fail

I know it was a different time under different circumstances, but still.

REMINDER: DC could not get Batman or Superman right, so Aquaman became their tentpole hero....
fucking... Aqua... Man.

And it turns out the only actor who didn't quit DC is also a pedo. Go figure.

The portrayal of men are actually masculine, something reddit cannot be. Hence why it gets called edgy and dark, so it gets the round of buzzwords to try to label it.
Mcu men are just sarcastic and quipy which relates to them (reddit), as they can use ha-has, to fight off threats (not Manly). Look at their frontline heroes now. The next phase of the mcu is truly cucked, and most of you shills will wakeup or continue on the reddit brigade and enjoy the msoyu.
DCEU will age better

Imagine being this contrarian.

Plenty of people like Cap and Superman, certain people just don't like what those characters traditionally symbolize.

>the fact they scrapped the nick cage superman
Superman is always in a state of development hell. Only reason why Cain, Welling, Routh and Cavill got a chance is because it was TV or a safe script. In Cavill's case it was because Nolan shut pic related up, he is the one causing the trouble.

This. Batman v Superman is one of the best movies of the decade but otherwise the series consists of straight up unwatchable trash like Suicide Squad and Justice League or decent but unremarkable movies like Aquaman and Wonder Woman that might as well be Marvel movies.

Attached: GettyImages93741501.jpg (1600x1603, 508K)

People say they are unrepeatable because they are too "good" or too "pure". I have always used the dress for the job you want not for the job you have mentality to enjoy them. I am not a paragon of humanity but I wish I was and I strive to get closer every day. With any luck, I am actually making progress.

Still waiting

Unrelatable*

Man of Steel and Aquaman are the only good ones. BvS is garbage

>wants to watch manlier men on screen

Butch cassidy is still the best hero

Man of Steel started poorly, ended poorly but had some really good stuff in the middle and if the stuff about Clark travelling America and looking for a place to fit in was the entire movie it'd be great. Sadly at the start of the last third it turns into a continuous long, loud, tiresome action sequence that never seems to end.

Aquaman is a fun enough movie but it doesn't take itself seriously enough and the effects aren't good enough for the movie to rely on them as much as it does. I mean, it looks cool but it doesn't look real. A lot of modern action movies have that problem.

>ended poorly
explain

Wants to watch reddit men on screen.
Good role models, say hi to your wife's son for me.

Man of Steel is still their best. BvS has good parts but overall isn't very good. Aquaman was unbelievably boring.

It's a problem that a few modern action movies have, Rogue One and that Mortal Engines movie have it too, where the climactic battle takes up practically the entire last act and it's just a barrage of non stop action. And it might be perfectly good action but, and maybe this is me getting old, if that sort of thing goes on for too long I start zoning out. Now, Man of Steel was a movie where I got actually emotionally invested in the middle, when it tried to get into Superman's character and his childhood and him being kind of a misfit. But once the battle against Zod and his henchmen starts and takes up the entire rest of the movie I lose interest.

The action was actually really good. As it beat everyone to the punch as to how Supers (metahuman etc.) should fight, and how destructive their power can be.

MOS was pretty much what you said, poor character exposition, some absolutely retarded scenes, and a superman that manages to destroy an entire city.

Sure it was good, it just went on for too long. I didn't love the Doomsday fight in BvS either but at least it didn't take up 40 minutes of the movie.

Action is literally the only reason I bother with movies, so I suppose we differ there. I don't need some deep analysis on life or the human condition or whatever. I am perfectly happy with who I am.

DC BTFO!

I wish they were still alive to see this, but Endgame killed the DCfags once and for all.

Yeah and not to mention, Zack Snyder already did this with Watchmen, so him rehasing that idea would be copy pasta some would assume

Batman v Superman did in a lot of ways kinda modernize the ideas of Watchmen.

jason "fucks the cunny" momoa

Yes the god vs man, power and whatnot.
It's just when God comes into the picture especially with christ parallels, leftist literally foam at the mouth and hate it.
Fedoras as well I might add, guess the edgy and dark criticism was really projection

BvS has the most artistic merit of the last decade

when I realized DCEU can still produce movies like Joker w/ Joaquin Phoenix, which is what the MCU couldn't since they're basically stuck following that cursed formula of theirs.

MCU has no room to grow. It's the same old shit and it's getting tiring.

>DCEU has one really good movie

Which is?

bvs

What the fuck?
Why did this never blow up and end his career?

What the DCEU lacks in consistency they make up for in creativity. And with the MCU it’s vice versa. However if rather have consistency then 5 suside skawd movies and the a Joker or Shazam.

My honest review of each DCEU movie so far.
>Man of Steel
It's a great look on a superman who is not sure who exactly he is in the world around him. Henry Cavill and Michael Shannon play their roles to perfection. I would give this 8/10.
>BVS
Theatrical Cut is trash. Extended Cut is an 8/10 however. People can complain about this movie all they want but it brought something fresh to the table. It brought new ideas and interesting plot points. Shame the mainstream media was to busy shilling Captain America: Civil War.
>Suicide Squad
2/10. There is no way I'm defending this movie. Nothing good came out of it except seeing cameos of Flash and Batman.
>Wonder Woman
This is a 7/10. It was average but I was never bored by it(Unlike something such as Thor: The Dark World). Having it set in WW1 was a nice change of setting. They obviously had fun while making the movie and it showed.
>Justice League
5/10. Joss Whedon unironically destroyed this movie. Super disjointed and felt way to rushed. The only reason Im not ranking this any lower is because the actors tried thier best given the bullshit that Whedon gave to them. Snyder, even if you hate him, his version would of been infinitely superior. Snyder Cut would've been an 8/10 for me.
>Aquaman
This was a 7/10. The casting was perfect and the plot was fun. It dragged on for too long at times and characterization of Aquaman was a little disjointed in the first half.
>Shazam
8/10. Jesus Christ, its truly a modern day Joe Dante film. If you love those then this movie is for you. Casting was great. The only reason it isn't a 10 out of 10 was they used the New-52 backstory of Billy Batson.

dceu only good movies were man of steel and batman v superman
everything else is bellow the mcu
mostly because they were trying to copy their formula
are you being delusional?

>DCEU is extremely edgy
Your delusional. Edgy is something like Ultimatum, Nemesis or The Boys.
There is none of that in the Dceu.
It's just played straight and serious like Earth One or Ultimates 1 & 2 (minus the shock value crap with Pym)

Can someone explain to me why a film like Nolan's Batmans isn't part of the DCEU? Batman is DC, right?

>Man of Steel started poorly
The Krypton sequence is universally praised tho.

>and a superman that manages to destroy an entire city.
So your fucking blind or did you not actually watch the movie?
See pic related. NONE of the destruction you see in this image was caused by Superman, he was literally on the other side of the planet when this all occurred. This is before him and Zod started fighting and their 1 on 1 battle after this image only causes the destruction of a parking lot and Wayne Tower. Clark caused ZERO structural damage to Wayne tower, that was all Zod's eye beams.
1 or 2 buildings were also damaged by the falling satellite but Zod is the one who took them into space, he is the one who threw the satellite at Superman (and back towards earth) and he is the one who slammed into it breaking it in half. That is 100% on Zod.

With those facts made clear, explain to me how in the fuck you think Superman destroyed the city?

>Can someone explain to me why a film like Nolan's Batmans isn't part of the DCEU? Batman is DC, right?
Because the DCEU is one universe. Nolan's Batman exist in a different continuity/universe.
Same reason Rami and Gardfield Spider-men are not in the Mcu.

mahvel fags truly just turn off their brain bro.
Don't worry their phase has ended, only good times now

Attached: BigTrolley.jpg (1400x700, 164K)

Not bait.
I was also curious about Spiderman, but clarified that for me.

This whole collective universe thing just seems like an excuse to shove as many names in a movie as possible to sell tickets

RENT FREE

Now that end game is done the dcu is better

Why when man of Steel came out

Agree on everything except Aquaman, which I didn't particularly like for all the poor CGI and the overall campiness, haven't seen Shazam yet. What elevates Man of Steel, Wonder Woman and Batman v Superman for me personally were a couple of extremely well made scenes that included the kind of pathos and visual language that I have always loved in films. The first flight scene, No Man's Land, some of the Alfred/Bruce interactions...
I'm sad there are no films like Gladiator being made anymore, where nobody is afraid of just making a great film with some serious themes and a lot of pathos, epic scope and enough accessibility for younger audiences too.

Hnmmm good question... I think for me it was around the release of their fifth consecutive cinematic and critical failure of a film.

>the overall campiness
We don't know for sure but these DC films are definitely in an alternate universe:
>Suicide Squad (Trailer edit)
>Shazam! (There's references but it's not 100% clear.
>Wonder Woman 1984
>Harley Quinn
>Joker (Obvious)
>Flashpoint (The one written by Grant Morrison)
There is a 52 universe. At least it would explain the tonal shift.

Agreed. BvS is the only movie I've rewatched (6 times, to be precise). It is not exactly about the plot, but the ideas and philosophy presented. Holy fuck there is so much depth in that movie that I still want to see it again, but then again, I have always been a DCEU fan since the JL animated cartoon early 2000s. I know people dont like BvS. I see there are flaws and its a shame Snyder couldnt follow through his vision for the trilogy, but I honestly think it is a movie worth investing time in.

>I honestly think it is a movie worth investing time in.
Totally agreed. I still think Lex should have been recast with Rosenbaum or Billy Zane to be more like a combination of Elon Musk/Trump. I will never buy joker Luthor. Shazam ruined it with their smallville reference but in MOS 2 I wanted Lionel Luthor to suddenly appear and take over like Tywin Lannister on GoT.
