will our grandchildren talk about the marvel series like we do about the old classics?
Will our grandchildren talk about the marvel series like we do about the old classics?
no, too much cgi, these movies will be as dated as now se see early 2000s flicks
no, they will talk about it, but not about the quality of the actual movies, but what they managed to pull off
These movies will be forgotten in less than a decade, guaranteed. They have no staying power, they're nothing special and they're nothing but spectacle, and it's very easy to replicate spectacle.
Yes Star Wars was lukewarm tasteless porridge and it's remembered by boomers as an ultra classic.
The Marvel Universe is EVEN MORE generic and mediocre, ensuring it will last through the ages hailed as a masterpiece for being "iconic" (= unoriginal).
These other guys thinking otherwise are complete fucking idiots btw
I totally agree with you, but I'm gonna take the opportunity to mention that Starship Troopers special effects still hold up so damn well.
I hope we have total societal and civilizational collapse by the time we have grandchildren.
your digits tell the truth. those effects are uncannily good after 22 years.
Nigga they still be MAKIN dese movies in a decade
They will be seen like the hundred western movies released in the past. A bunch of old movies that grandpas call the greatest thing ever but the modern generation mostly don’t give a shit about.
A few movies will be brought up as classics but most will be forgotten.
>by the time we have grandchildren
so, never?
only virgins will so yeah maybe
>A few movies will be brought up as classics but most will be forgotten.
Within capeshit ? Lol no, outside of USA they're average blockbuster forgotten as soon as you leave the theatre.
They also utilized practical effects heavily which even if corny looking you can always tell are at least real objects made of matter and not CGI. so the CGI just needed to look like the practical effects which further made your brain believe it was real. Same with Jurassic Park.
A lot of people compare the superhero genre to the western but really the nearest analog to superhero movies are the big ostentatious Biblical epics and musicals of the '50s and '60s. These movies were huge spectacle-driven hits with family audiences, a number of them enjoyed critical acclaim, and pretty much all of them aged so poorly as to be unwatchable now.
Stuff in these genres that was HUGE at the time of release is all but forgotten today, and not just because it's 50-60 years old and nobody goes back to look at old movies. Even cinephiles and curators and whoever don't make a case for something like Oliver! or Barrabas. These were insipid, safe entertainments for their time and that's what superhero movies are too. Almost none of this shit is art and so almost none of it is going to endure.
Ironman has chance only because of islamic warriors. It will have a bit of historical-fiction appeal.
I think Iron Man will probably age well. Other than that then only ones that have a chance are the Guardians movies (despite the ending to the first) and Thor: Ragnarok because the space settings are actually well done.
they will, in the sense that we talk about The Godfather movies. Truly uninteresting movies that were just well marketed in their times but theyre seen as classics so if you say something bad about they youre just being contrarian.
>Iron Man
Yeah it's the most iconic but honestly it's just a curiosity.
Not Godfather. That is perfectly watchable now. MCU, due to insane amount of CGI will be more like Spawn or something else that has aged like shit.
The Dark Knight series will be Godfather tier, mostly due to picture quality.
It’s just different than the rest in a good way.
Iron Man looks better than every single movie after it, even IM2. It will outlast the rest of them.
The MCU will look like how Spider-Man 1 does now, but not even half as good in any other area.
>Iron Man looks better than every single movie after it
And that's cruelly true. It's like after that they thought it was ok to produce shit because people were hooked and would buy it no matter what.
Some how I doubt it. MCU movies only "work" when everyone is hyped up about them. Without the hype they're little else than some painfully average movies.
Your "average" bar is rather low user.
It's exactly when Disney bought them out and they started pumping out 2/3 movies a year it went to shit. Shit The Incredible Hulk looks better than Ragnarok hulk besides for the hair, and that was 2008.
someone's wearing their monkey speak amulet today
This cant be real.
Based movie magic poster
In 5yrs, nobody will be talking about this.
lmao just means people will forget it even faster in the cesspool dumbass nigga
AYO OOK OOK!!

They ll be remembered for mockery purpose
Like people doing video on youtube about old media to mock the previois generation.
Avenger one is so bad it will most likely be used many times
The commentator will sarcasticaly remark that those movies were huge hit and people were fucking retarded back there.
They ll pin point some scene and blast the Tv serie directing
Meanwhile old marvelfag will seeth and cry that vroomers know nothinf about arr.
Or since the mass hypnosis will be gone a lot of the previous fan will act like they never liked the franchise to begin with
they still talk about the godfather, you think they won't with endgame
