But when you have highly specialized jobs that take training and education and those people get removed, it can really throw a monkey wrench in things if that person performed a necessary function.

If Thanos' snap isn't actually random and for some reason kills disproportionally large amounts of doctors or something like that then yes, you'd be right. But if Thanos' snap is truly random (I.E for example every IQ quotient loses 50% of their population) there will be plenty of specialists left to service the reduced population.

It will be the same earth as before snap (after the initial shock) but with more resources. It's just as simple as that.

It isn't though. People are spread out all over. A smaller town loses one specialist they aren't just going to get another one from another town over. It's going to be chaos as they have to communicate "okay what towns are missing these important people?" should the populations of two small towns merge together with one town's populace bringing their resources and just moving in? It's going to affect each locality differently as they lose different vital specialists that aren't easily replacable.

also like I mentioned, if their boss disappears so nobody's going to be paying them, a lot of people won't know what to do or won't go into work at all. Entire economic sectors in a local area will just shut down. People will have to relocate to where they're needed where there's a job opening that they're qualified for and there's someone to pay them. that shifting around will take time.

If we're to believe society collapsed universally (which is a stretch by any means) then then the new Warriors/Escape from NY society should have gutted the fucking world of its resources. Instead everything is NY is dark as night but Japan still functions the same as ever. The Avengers facility is dstill peaceful and clean despite only having Widow as its main guest. It feels like a real failure to take into account the changes and then we just say, "Fuck it, they're all back. Nothing is different except 5 years."

Go read up on the Black Plague. In a weird way it jump started the Renaissance. With one out of every three workers dead, there was suddenly an increased demand for labor. When demand for labor increases, wages increase. With increased wages came a more egalitarian society where there was more time for things like reading, art, or research. Yes, society might not bounce back in five years, but within one generation of half of all people being snapped away the world would be a much better place than it was presnap for the vast majority of people.

Well since this thread is /pol/ already, can someone explain if importing more people into your country will only make it worse for yourself, which is basically proven everytime except in rare cases in which you take in a upper class, e.g Elon Musk. Why would the lower classes support a party that wants open borders, e.g the Democrats?
