- Lots of people enjoyed the zombie battle when it happened, but afterward felt let down the main threat built up since the first scene in the show was wrapped up like that. Way too rushed, terrible pacing for whole plot, too few sacrifices, too quick and easy, nonsensical battle tactics and strategy, no motivation for the villains, and so on. So it's partly a delayed reaction to Episode 3.
- People who have had problems with it for a long time just realizing there's not enough time left to right the ship, so to speak.
- After the dumb shit in 3, more dumb shit like teleporting Euron, Cersei not just killing them, big revelations offscreen, everything moving too fast now.
- Leaks like the Bell Ending. It might or might not be true but everyone's heard some variation of the bell ending or similar usually with nearly all the characters fucked over, dead with a bad end, a botched character arc, or just vanishing.
So the rating is belated dissapointment with episode 3 and also hearing the ending leaks more than the actual episode along with pacing and other long running problems not getting better.
