Jon casting his bonded Direwolf, lifelong loyal friend, away to rot with hobos and die a lonely death in the cold North

>Jon casting his bonded Direwolf, lifelong loyal friend, away to rot with hobos and die a lonely death in the cold North.

Have we truly reached a point where CGI budget is determining the course of the story?

Ghost is an allegory for Jon. Jon wants to be in the True North, ergo, that is where Ghost is sent. This could also be interpreted as Jon being separated from his "Starkness". Likewise, Rhaegal's death represents Jon's spot at Dany's side no longer being possible.

The series is over...the network won't be spending any more on it.

Literally happens with every long running show when they keep fucking going after the finale.

Has been that way since the beginning

There is only two episodes left

jesus you are a faggot. D&D do not have depth to their writing. Stop trying to make it seem like they do.

Considering Jon's and Dany's stupidity, Ghost is probably safer with Tormund.

>Ghost is probably safer with Tormund.
this, also Jon returns north after killing Danny so if d&d dont make him reunite with Ghost then they are truly retarded

>showrunners dont want to spend on CGI dog
>make up retarded headcanon instead to defend shitty writing and production
Why do people do this shit?

This wasn't even HBO, who were willing to shell out more money to do at least 2 more seasons. This was strictly the retarded showrunners not spending money because "muh CGI ''''''budget'''''' "

they cant help it they hate spending money, its in their blood

The Starks all lose their dire wolves when they lose their Stark identity, one way or another. In S1, Arya disconnects from hers somewhat similarly. Like Nymeria, Ghost isn't dead, and like Arya (at that time), Jon seems to be entering a situation where it's in his best interest to not be such a Stark.

Maybe the budget thing played a role, but Ghost's exit was in line with the other dire wolves'.

Ughhh people forget the cgi and shit, have sex nerd.

Jon will be at the Wall with Ghost and Tormund at the end of the show.

le DOGE XD

fucking reddit.

Dog doesn't cost 1/10 of what the equivalent Dragon on screen time costs.

They did however kill off or invalidate side characters to focus on a smaller cast for budget reasons though. Remember when Westeros wasn't primarily a dozen people surrounded by 20 extras?

I legitimately couldn't find one reason that Jon would ignore Ghost there. I'm not going insane about it, I just can't figure out any logical reason for Jon not to even give a nod at the fucking mangled wolf. It's already emblematic of him leaving North/Winterfell/Stark's behind. Am I supposed to believe he dislikes the Stark part of himself? Do DnD not like dogs like the greasy kikes they are? What's the deal here?

>Do DnD not like dogs like the greasy kikes they are?
I think this has more truth to it than people realize.

The (((showrunners))) and (((hollywood execs))) don't really understand the sort of bond that men have with dogs. It probably never crossed their mind that we'd expect Jon to have some affection for Ghost.

I think what motivated OP to make this thread was that the director of the episode came out and said that it would've been too hard to shoot Jon petting Ghost since Ghost is a mostly CGI creation, leading OP to extrapolate that Ghost was written out so they wouldn't have to worry about showing him doing things anymore.

dogs are loyal and man's best friend

I want to believe it's because he's still planning to go north after this shit is done

this would make sense under different circumstances
but it's literally to save money on the budget

>die a lonely death in the cold North
that’s literally where Ghost is from. You saw how in the early seasons he stopped listening to Jon and Qhorin reminded him this was his land and he was more comfortable there
Plus he has Tormund to loo after him. He’ll have a far better life with him up there than with Jon who seems to keep trying to get him killed
Plus he’s cgi

Might require more time / effort since people will be comparing it to something that actually exists. Plus it has to be like a emotional scene so you gotta do a bunch of extra work.

I dunno why they don't just use puppets for this shit. CG isn't there yet it still looks obviously fake the majority of the time.

Alf just wouldn't be the same in cg.

>defending D&D writing

DABID

Ghost is a runt, and would've died if he hadn't been raised in captivity. He isn't as big as Grey Wind was yet, but has lived like five years longer.

Summer and Shaggy never grew either, that's just shitty writing. Only Grey Wind was ever animated as a fucking huge wolf.
