they kept the documentary going longer than the office did and with more consistency, more well thought out and layered jokes, actual setup and payoffs instead of awkward situations. For example, the joke of that scene is how everyone overreacts inside a burned down trailer, which is funny and over a dollar food. The joke is not that he passed out high and ate canned food.

seasons 2 3 and 7 are good, rest is garbage.

the ability to make good food was kevin's only value, and his chili was an exceptional demonstration of it that he wanted to share with his coworkers. unfortunately this value is washed away by the his prevailing unworth. the clumsiness followed by desperate attempts to retain his pride is tragic, we laugh because his humiliation is real and persevering.
