Isn't that the other way around? Tarkvosky wants you to experience and feel the movie as opposed to just consuming it. That's how Stalker and Solaris clicked with me anyway. Too imersive which feels like cinema done right.

Most of Scorcese films, his Bostonesque films are so treaded that finding anything new in them is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Goddard films go without saying, grass roots in a Chinese pedestrian street.
PTA, the films just don't do anything for me. Everyone absolutely raves about them, when I watch them, it feels like I'm in a conceptual prison forced to watch a rough interpretation of a postmodern simulacrum.
Wes Anderson, the films ooze that distinct whimsicality in a world of odd pastels, but that's about it. I don't hate them, but you wouldn't ever hear me suggest one his films for a movie night.
James Cameron films. T2? Sure, I could watch it if someone absolutely insist. Doesn't go in my top 100 and neither do any other films of his.
