>only MCU character with a secret identity
>still reveals it to everyone or everyone finds out anyway

good post

I actually watched a bunch of the marvel movies recently because someone linked his Infinity War death scene.

I thought it was cool he was an actual teenager instead of a mature person who happens to be racing to class rather than the Daily Bugle.

Plus Marvel has to start thinking about longevity. They can milk Holland as Spider-Man for like 15 years, as opposed to Thor, Captain America and Iron Man who have already aged out of their roles.

And it’s a better choice than A listers like Larson and Cumberbatch who will walk away from the MCU the first time a movie misses the 1 Billion mark

>Yea Forums screencaps

>the only thing from Spider-Man lore that remains is Aunt May but even then she's a hot milf and she knows he's Spider-Man and he's gonna get a stepdad

Sounds like someone had their expectations subverted

lore aside, he is so much more fun to watch than garfield or magiure. they were decent, but often came off as forced or just boring. holland has a great natural energy to him that the other two just dont have, hes just an energetic teen who actually acts like one

This. Nostalgia fags and obese beasts who want the lame miles morales are so irritating.

Also this.

>Spiderman isn't some goofy kid who spergs out at everything he sees and acts like a moron constantly, throwing himself head of over heels over a complete stranger.
The first thing he did after he became Spiderman was try and join the Fantastic Four, got his feelings hurt, ended up getting in a fight with them and literally left saying WHO WANTS TO BE A PART OF YOUR STUPID CLUB ANYWAYS?

He's a terrible actor and that retarded squeaky voice he puts on to seem younger despite clearly being a 20+ year old walking around a kids school is laughable.

ironically, the trailer doesn't look appealing to me because its all BANG BANG PEW PEW KERBLASH KABLOOEY that marvel is so bad at and not very much tom holland being charming and sexy.

Delete this

Worst spiderman, best spiderman film though.

I liked the whole aesthetic, him going to a special school so even Flash is a dork in the grand scheme, Vulture is a great villain, I even liked Iron Man keeping an eye on him because what kind of irresponsible asshole lets a high schooler go out fighting crime solo.

Homecoming was comfy as fuck

Dude remember when the Avengers wanted to get Spidey on their team and considered him an "Ace Hero" because he actually held his own as a solo hero after the FF business?
And Thor, Captain America and Iron Man got their asses handed to a Spider-man robot duplicate?
And Spidey saved their asses but refused to join the Avengers because they didn't pay?

See belive it or not, Spider-man character developted in old school marvel, he started as a whiny brat but it didn't take long for him to become the cream of the crop. He was considered a bigger deal than the Avengers for that team first run.

>the quality of a character is directly linked on how similar it is to another
holy fuck, this is literally the worst argument ever, fuck you all

>be Mysterio
>decide to become a superhero
>designing costume
>imma be Iron Man AND Thor, that'll be sick

Gyllenhall better be fucking adorable in this movie or I swear to god

>I thought it was cool he was an actual teenager instead of a mature person
Two arguments, if you care to consider them
First, Tom Holland is not a teenager, he's 24 years old. Tobey Macguire was 25 when the first Spiderman movie came out, not that much older really.
Second, in the original Spiderman comics, spiderman doesn't exactly look super young either, see pic related. More university-aged really, which is in line with Sam Reimi's movies.

Peter is still developing in the comics after years of getting screwed by crappy writers from the 90s to the 10s.

You do have a point but I think it's a little unfair to judge so quickly considering he's been in only a few movies so far, basically a glorified cameo in Civil War and Endgame. Considering a major point of Far From Home is dealing with the fallout of Tony's death, I think it's likely Peter will probably move on and become less dependant on authority figures.

Maybe Holland's Spiderman will develop as well. As someone else pointed out, they could potentially milk him for the next 15 years. At this point he's had one movie to himself and bit parts in Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame. Not a lot of time to flesh out a character arc. I do like what they did with him and Tony and how the new movie seems to focus on him dealing with the loss of his mentor.

I could also argue that with the billionaire funding him, it take out a large part of early Spiderman which was again, him literally trying to make money with his powers. That was also the main reason he tried to join the F4. This way, they are free to focus on other aspects of his personality, without having to spend time on him worrying about money all the time.

>operates primarily in queens
>shows up in D.C. with his classmates
>shows up in london with his classmates
literally anybody could figure this mystery out. even donald glover's character should be able to piece it together. he will definitely reveal himself publicly either as the last scene of far from home or the beginning of spiderman homecoming 3

Best Spiderman

Your picture literally has the words "Midtown High" in it. He's a high schooler. Yes Tom Holland is 24 but Peter Parker is a teenager in high school.

Aunt May is dating Happy Hogan, MCU Peter has no need to worry about her safety from his identity being revealed.

Macguire and Garfield were nothing like Spider-man from the comics you stupid lorefags

Sure, but from the drawings it looks more like he's in one of the senior classes, so he would be almost an adult anyway. Certainly not some 15 year old teenager or whatever who still has years of school ahead of him.

I think sometimes Hollands energy was misplaced, I felt like he was too much of a bouncy puppy.
Some scenes his energy was really good though, like when he fought Thanos with the Guardians.
Tobey as Spider-Man was really fun to watch (see the train fight) but felt like he had more weight behind his attacks.

If anything, in some ways, Holland's Spiderman is even more faithful to the comics than the others. Macguire and Garfield existed in a vaccum. Spider-Man was the hero and the only hero. Holland's Spider-Man comes into the MCU, much like how the comic Spider-Man came into a world already populated by heroes. Instead of trying to impress the Fantastic 4 for a job, he got one with Tony Stark. He is new to the hero business, in a world full of veterans. He is not the only hero out there and he's certainly not the strongest or most useful. He will make mistakes and others can guide him or help him learn the ropes. Eventually, he will hopefully come into his own as a leader and example to other heroes.

Seriously?

Tom is 22 and he looks about 16.

So what's the deal is Spiderman supposed to be a twink or is Holland just asexual?

Why can’t you take this shit to Yea Forums? Holland is a great Spider-Man and you’re not even consistent when you bring the comics into your arguments against him.

I'm quite into British twinks but Tobey Maguire is still my favorite.

Only because he thought they could give him a job since he now has to provide for himself and his now widowed aunt

Even at the time I remember thinking that decision was full in retarded

Peter was 15 at first and aged real time until around his highschool graduation. That's just how Ditko drew him.

*Full on

He looks like a 30 year old manlet with a dick in his throat

Tom Holland isn’t actually a kid though. He’s 24. This is a fucking stupid argument

I don’t agree, I think he’s beautiful and young looking.

Disney fag detected.

He’s 22 and plays younger very well.

Mister stark! Mister stark! Remember that really old movie??! This is how teenagers talk right?! Mister stark! Sir! We won! I’m 24 years old and I’m playing a kid lol!

>Holland
>Spiderman
More like Iron Manlet junior.

What comic is that from? Show proof from the original Spiderman comics era or be forever silent.

>has been in 4-5 films
>has been spider-man in more films than any other actor
>give him a chance to develop!!!

Hes the onou spidy that actually seems like a teenager

>shitting on an actor for acting like the person he is supposed to be

Seriously consider suicide

He comes off like a teenager I don’t give a fuck if the actor is 68

The character has never acted like this in the comics. Cry more Disney faggot.

>reading comics

Have sex fag

From the Civil War event which took place in the main MCU including Amazing Spiderman which had been running since the beginning in 1963.

I'm sure if you add up the minutes he's in Civil War, Endgame, and Infinity War, it will come out to maybe 1 movie max. So he's been in two?

>From the Civil War event

So basically already in the Disney SJW era? Then I feel safe dismissing that argument.

I liked the Macguire Spider-Man since I was a kid at the time and it was the best capeshit in town in ‘02. But it’s over.

I initially ignored Homecoming because I couldn’t be bothered with a third remake but I eventually thought it was pretty good. Macguires Spiderman also did a good job showing that his physique was altered as well, making him look more like a college aged guy after he was bit.

I don’t really care about Tom Holland’s actual age since I totally bought him as a 16 year old. Hollywood always does this. The problem with RDJ is that he looks 50 and therefore projects the vibe of being literally too old for this shit.

I really don’t care about them mimicking the comics, if they want to do that, they can just set the movie in the 60’s. But that would suck because they couldn’t have him in the Avengers and Marvel couldn’t do something not set in present day without projecting modern social issues in the form of huge anachronisms.

The whole thing about ignoring Spider-Man’s whiz kid talents is fine with me. It’s stated that he invented his webbing which ought to be enough. Nobody wants to watch spider-man leaning over a desk. Although I do hate his nanotechnology costume, and iron mans too. Those metal spider legs are retarded,

Into the Spider-Verse puts every live action Spider-Man movie to shame desu.

>people that say he's "exactly like spider-man from the comics"

He's nothing like Spider-man from the comics and even rips character traits from other spider-men for no reason

Attached: S8-ME1Jb_400x400.png (256x256, 126K)

Who cares? He looks 16, Hollywood does this all the time. If anything I’m happy he’s a bit older so he doesen’t go all Kirk Cameron and ruin the franchise.

Based Cap

You've got to be a troll or just super butthurt about being completely blown the fuck out of the water with proof. Amazing Spiderman started in 1963, with Peter Parker as a 15 year old kid. Civil War was a crossover event which happened in 2006-07 including titles such as Amazing Spiderman, which had been going continuously since the beginning with no reboots. An adult Peter Parker revealed himself as Spider-Man and said he had been doing it since he was 15. And all this was before the first Iron Man movie came out (2008), or the term SJW was invented (2011).

Get fucking wrecked. You're wrong. And stupid.

He didn’t leave because “his feelings got hurt” he left because he realized he couldn’t use them for cash, so he told them to go fuck themselves.

That’s more greedy douchebag that whiny kid.

>They can milk Holland
Hot.

I mean that's part of it but >"I might have known! You're just like all the rest! Ready to believe the worst of anyone! Okay keep me out of your group! Who needs you?"

Definitely some whiny kid in there.

That’s more just Spider-Man being Spider-Man. Dudes acts the same way all the way in his twenties

It’s also pretty verbose for a stupid 15 year old, and definitely OOC for someone like Holland’s Spidey to act.

Right and Spider-Man is a whiny kid. He doesn't mature until later. There are plenty of whiny twenty year olds.

This.

And Valkyrie and MJ are white and not insufferable cunts in the comics, but this is the MCU so what can you do? Different beast.

Valkyrie are not white

Fuck off Bendis.

*lusts after Queen's cock*

You’re retarded. Like the OP.

Also hated how freely he gave his identity to basically anyone
Fucking comics it was YEARS before he revealed it to anyone
hell the first time was to a dying kid so it was a safe bet, Daredevil figured it out on his own though

Attached: Start of Snap.jpg (1060x1600, 560K)

Are any of the characters 1:1 remakes of their comic counterparts? This is fucking retarded

Holy shit was that so shitty. Like what the fuck is Mantis gonna do? It was just so...hamfisted. The subtly of a punch to the face

Mantis used her powers to put that giganigga alien to sleep, they just never showed it in detail

Attached: Swap.webm (954x400, 2.91M)

He doesn't look 16 anymore. Looks like michael cera's brother

Attached: tomholand.jpg (1280x720, 77K)

>Big CGI shitfest

Made me feel sick watching this garbage even on my laptop

okay well, even if that is the case, it was still after the first Spider Man movie came out. If there is no earlier proof, it can be argued to be a retcon. You can't argue they knew this for 50 years and never mentioned it.

wtf is doing the guy from behind?

>"Whoa, that's awesome!"
>Repeat x134

>Adaptation of a character, applying modern lens or making them fit into an established universe

"That's not what the s-s-source material says!"

just want to point out that he was 18/19 at the time cap civil war was filmed and released, he's 22 now. he's still very much believable as a high schooler
