this, it isn't bad but certainly no grounds to tell others to dig deeper.

BR2049 is really good but your top movie of all time?

Extremely good list

I don't use the 0.5 star rating. I try to normally distribute my ratings with 3 being mean, mode, and median. In actuality my mean is ~3.1 and mode is 3.5.

So most of my films are 2.5-3.5 for below average, average, and above average. 5 stars is a perfect movie and 1 star is near unwatchable, and I hand out very few of those ratings.

>all these barry lyndonfags
Imaging not considering 2001 as kubrick's best, how much of a brainlet are you guys? just because a movie is aesthetically pleasing doesn't mean it's good. Barry lyndon was shit

Attached: Annotation 2019-05-09 193327.png (1265x504, 516K)

Tokyo Drifter
Smithereens
Police Story
Foxy Brown
A Touch of Zen

Brainlet. Also there's more 2001s in here than Lyndons who are only like 2

.5: horrendous, despise this
1: very bad, got no enjoyment out of it
1.5: bad but could be worse
2: just slightly below 'meh'
2.5: neither like or dislike, good and bad in equal measure
3: ok
3.5: good, with some issues
4: solidly good, would recommend
4.5: excellent
5: perfect, could rewatch endlessly

Why do you consider barry lyndon as one of your favourites if you know the plot is shit

What are you talking about,niggerfaggot?

um no, there's 2 2001s and 3 Barrys

ignoring that you made that up, are you just now (not quite) realizing that people can value other things in movies than you do

>y tu mama tambien

best cuarón film. 10x better than roma

Apocalypse Now
Blade Runner
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
Taxi Driver
No Country For Old Men

Barry Lyndon didn't need to be that long, I found the second half rather dull and a chore to finish. It’s impressive on a technical level but the plot lacked engagement

Swiss Army Man
Buster Scruggs
Fellowship of the Ring
There will be Blood
Cloud Atlas

Nice choices

Chunking Express
Un Homme Qui Dort
Mulholland Drive
Y Tu Mama Tambien

Where is Barry Lyndon?

hey Stanley

It’s by Victor Erice, same guy who made The Spirit Of The Beehive (his only two narrative feature films). The lighting used throughout is magnificent, and I personally love the way the protagonist’s perspective is shown as she grows from a child to an adolescent. Similar to Beehive, it creates a melancholy mood that suggests that there is magic in the world that lies just out of the reach of a child
I love all of those other movies you listed, I think they rank among the best. But the reason I selected those three are due to the personal enjoyment I get out of them. If we were having a “greatest films” conversation, it would be a different story, but the five I listed are my favorites. Near impossible to narrow down to five though, I could probably name two different sets of five that I’d be nearly as happy with

Fuck I put it in there but realized I forgot clockwork orange so deleted it and then forgot to put it back in before typing the shining

1. Goodfellas
2. Schindler's list
3. The thing
4. The Shining
5. Blame!

Attached: th.jpg (266x300, 21K)

Stanley hated his movies tho

>Blame!
could I enjoy this without having read the manga? could you talk a bit about why you loved it?
