In the last thread someone posted a tweet that had 25k likes. It was some person stating that having more people of color and women on the writing thing or on the team would help - but how do these people exist? She may as well have said nothing but it got retweets. Capable writers and producers are just that, their race and shit doesn't matter. These same people would be calling show critics assholes if DnD were black and it all crashed like this.
Honestly though this is one of the first times that I got offended by the PoCs just getting exterminated because their whole arc was actually interesting. It would have been interesting to have Missandei and the Doth'raki integrating into westeros and having things change there. (The unsullied are inherently not interesting because they are just NPCs, gray worms entire arc shouldn't have really been in the show. Missandei should have had a better and potentially romantic relationship with Dany through the seasons. The writers straight up fucking wasted her AND left out all the fucking blood riders from Drogo's army.)
The same with Ghost, they just didn't do anything with him. There was so much fucking potential and they just wrote it all away for no reason whatsoever.

I'm amazed that the show managed to do such a massive last-minute heel-turn. Honestly, I don't think I've seen such an immediate decline in quality on TV. We went from one of the longest and most incredible battles of all time that was frankly a masterpiece in tension and direction from start to fish with a fucking killer ending that damn near gave me PTSD to... this shit. Seriously, what the fuck was episode 4? What were they thinking? They had all the setup done for a satisfying conclusion and they just went, "nope, we're actually not gonna do that, we're gonna go in this direction we haven't foreshadowed or built towards at all because fuck Dany". 8 seasons of building her up from square one as a hero, and you crush her at the last minute like this? She was raped, brutalized, and went through countless trials only to come out selfless on the other side and dedicate her life to freeing people, and then you go and write her as the villain? What? If the rumors are true that the other major male character on the show kills her, this is going to be ridiculous - think about the message that sends for just a moment. I'm just baffled. Oh and killing Missandei was so dumb, not just the circumstances, like how she should be assumed to have drowned but for some reason Grey Worm and Dany know they kidnapped her, but just how stupid it is that she got kidnapped at all, and the fact Cersei chooses to execute her. The fact she dies as a whole is stupid, why would you build this character up just to use her as a device to make Dany feel sad last minute? Is this meant to be apt justification for her downfall? Because frankly just watching these piece of shit writers kill of their only black female character in the dumbest way possible is on the verge of driving me mad. Contrast her death with others in the show, ones that tie into their storyline, and serve as a conclusion to it, or illustrate a message - nope, Missandei is just to serve Dany's downfall. Fuck D&D.

In case you haven't seen them and wanna know how this shitshow ends:
Dany's army will capture Jaime. Tyrion ask her to show mercy, Dany refuses. (likely when Tyrion tries to resign as Hand) Tyrion frees Jaime and try to get Cersei out of the city. Dany has Vary's executed (burned alive) and Dany assaults Kings landing in a one sided fight. The ramparts where Cersei and Missandei stood are burned open and green pyrotechnics used so likely Wildfire.
Lannister soldiers begin to surrender but the surrender bells "break" Dany. Grey worm lets his anger get the best of him, throws a spear at a surrendered soldier and starts a riot. Jon tries to stop Dany and Grey Worm (staredown with Grey Worm) but Lannisters start attacking again and Jon is forced to resume fighting. Drogon burns Kings landing and Euron's fleet (Cleganebowl, they both die.) Jaime fights Euron and kills him but is mortally wounded in exchange. Jame makes it to Cersei and they die together.
Dany starts executing everyone in Kings landing (Tyrion and Jon are upset) Dany has Tyrion arrested for freeing his brother. (his trial is supposed to have neither Dany or Jon present) Tyrion tries to convince Jon to turn on Dany. His family will never be safe because it threatens Dany's legitimacy. Jon tries to talk to Dany but she ignores him thinking she is justified.
Tyrion and Sansa begin to scheme against Dany and to turn Jon against her. Sansa will betray Tyrion at the end despite promising to rule together. (maybe at his upcoming trial) In the end Jon is somehow forced, or decides, to kill Dany. Jon's outcome is uncertain after: new Nights Watch/Exile or dies. Kit apparently shot two different endings for the show.
Tyrion's trial in the dragonpit is a major scene and has no Jon, Dany, or dragons.

Yeah let's forget that she's literally been about saying no to the GOD OF DEATH since season 1, and that the Night King (hell, the White Walkers as a whole) are essentially DEATH and lead the army of the DEAD. No, she may not be tied in the sense Jon was, but thematically she absolutely makes sense, and that's what this show is all about - thematic conclusions in favor of the generic ones other stories would give. Also, she didn't teleport, she snuck up, because you know... she's an assassin. Did you miss how in episode 1 she snuck up on Jon in literally the exact same place?

Wasn't dark on my TV, and I don't even have a particularly good one. The beginning of the episode is meant to be dark and chaotic though, that's pretty clear. Also, we lost Ed, Jorah, Theon, Lyanna, and the red woman all in a single episode, and plenty of other characters probably would've met their demise if Arya had been just a little slower. Also the Dothraki were fucking obliterated. I don't get what good you people think killing the whole cast would do. Dying in battle just means they can't get a more satisfying end to their story.

not the OP, but my only real problem with ep 3 is that we see these main characters get swarmed/about to die and they just cut away for them to be fine when they cut back. That's stupid.
