Literally saw it half an hour ago. It's, at best, a kid's movie wrapped in a pandering 90s kid's movie. The plot is very poorly strung together, with very generous leaps from one plot point to the next, the villain is not very well explained, his motives nonsensical, and the resolution is unsatisfyingly quick.
Ryan Reynolds has a small handful of decent comedic moments, but I'd rather have stayed home, jerked off, saved the money, and watched it on netflix in a year or less.
Also, the pokemon CGI was surprisingly bad at times. Heavy uncanny valley, and sometimes they moved very jerkily when there was a lot on screen. Lastly, basically no pokemon battles. There's sort of one, but nothing that really tickled my pokemon-prostate.
