S1 was a lot more pretentious than S2.

S2 had a lot more coherent scenes without doing the whole 2deep4u visuals and you got a lot greater sense of David's power.

I caught some of that astral plane battle stuff. Look great. That's my kinda shit.

They failed to establish the world and supporting cast, this isn't so bad for season 1 because S1 was about a guy fighting an inner demon, it works as long as the lead and villain are decent.

S2 is set up with some wacky organisation fighting some mind virus and it's hard to care about any of it.
