But reading is just a personal act, not something that you're meant to laud about. I think you must have some sort of desire to impress which is making you confused about how personal hobbies are enjoyed.

In fact, one would further say that someone who is adversed to reading in public must be so full of the desire to impress others that they believe any and all actions they do are being monitored at all times. And so they decide to do nothing, because in the face of this invisible audience that watches them, they shrivel up and shrink and cannot do nothing. Even more interesting though is that despite all this internal restriction and inability to do things, this type of person thinks himself more noble than everyone else who gives no mind to others and do what they want, because to his world full of restrictions placed upon him by this invisible audience one would never DARE to do a thing which they wanted to do. Such a thing is preposterous in his mind and so the only way for him to cope with this separation is by deeming himself nobler, and more superior. Truly what a remarkable specimen that would be.

What would even be the sexual habits of such a person? Would they even be able to have any sexual relations with a woman? One would have to assume that they would not, because in pursuing sexual pleasure with another woman, they would only be doing something pretentious. That is, fitting the pretense of a heterosexual male trying to impress a female, and that is wrong. Therefore, this person would not do anything and that would be more noble and courageous to him than to actually go up to the girl and impress her. How would such a person even have sex? They would inherently say sex itself is a pretentious act and would take no part in it.
