On one hand, none of those people are Rorschach and are praised for being antagonists in a protagonistic role, and they all had a hint of relatability woven into their characters to enforce this.
Rorschach was only rarely considered antagonistic even among those who read the books. Hell, he's the one who started the investigation into Comedian's death in the first place; he kickstarted the entire story because of his paranoia happening to be right. His ideals, while resulting from a dark upbringing, were clean cut and stemmed from his hatred of the corruption of the world around him. Many readers absolutely agreed with this ideology, especially during the time the comic released. Remember that one of his most famous lines is "All the whores and politicians will shout 'Save us!' and I'll whisper, 'No.'"
This current-year SJW shit is the result of the Internet's bullhorn effect, and really nothing more. Despite acting like they're a majority, it's evident that they've only ever proven that a vocal minority is more noticeable than the silent masses. You seemed to imply that people only liked rorschach because he was interesting alone. Seems we're on the same page, though.
My point was that Lindelof is betting on the ideals of this Rorschach cult being inherently disagreeable and unsavory. Using a symbology that people already see as protagonistic could backfire, especially since the real Rorschach is too dead to really counter it himself. That said Rorschach doesn't have the mass popularity of, say, Batman, so I might be a little too concerned.
Ultimately I just find this current method of using caricature to write villains to be fundamentally misguided and akin to some kind of propaganda. Ozymandias never had that problem. he was a strong antagonist on his own terms, and was far more morally grey.

I can see where you're coming from. What Moore seemed to be getting at was that to be a superhero is to be insane.
And while Rorschach likely did have psychological problems that stemmed from his upbringing (being the son of a literal neglectful whore can't be good for a childhood), he accepted that he wasn't normal, which is what contrasted him from his peers. Daniel Dreibert, the second Nite Owl, only became a superhero out of an admiration for his predecessor and to follow the trend. Ozymandias was your standard "Greater Good" megalomaniac. Comedian was a bitter veteran who used crimefighting to lash out. Silk Spectre just wanted to gain her mother's approval. Manhattan didn't even give a shit about heroism and pretty much only joined the watchmen for underage pussy.
Only Rorschach fought crime out of a disdain for it. Of all of them he's the only one who looked real evil in the face and dedicated his life to rejecting it.

Both of these depictions will fail, because their morality is still not in question - you will align with the side most like you, as will everyone else who will watch this show.
