Detective Pikachu

I just got back from the film. Ask me anything you want to know about it. I really liked it, so I might be biased in certain judgments

Convince me why i should buy tickets and not watch free CAM leak in the comfort of my home.

Is Ryan Reynolds playing thefather? Did he have jungle fever? Is the mom hot?

Is Sneed in it?

Are there any fuckable pokemon

Does the nigger get killed violently on screen?

If not, i'm not seeing it.

It's shot on film. Unlike the Avengers film series post Iron Man 2, the cinema actually enhances the experience here.

The mother is dead and her death is what drives the wedge between father and son leading up to the film. Mother is average looking from the photo.

No, but the world building through show-not-tell is really good, as are the skyline shots. I rank the final showdown superior to many fight scenes of the last 5 years.

I didn't feel anything remotely sexual.

He plays the role well enough. He was pretty milquetoast, but I thought he did an all right job. Script could be better all round, though.

go buy tickets now!

How dissapointed are your parents about you watching movies for little children without having one yourself?

I just saw it as well. It's pretty bad but the pokemons are fun I guess

>It's shot on film
It's not projected on film though. And what does it even mean? Are you saying every movie shot on film is worth paying for?

Saw it too. It's very good... Especially when the movie could have been an epic fail ( remember those news from a few years back ? "ryan reynolds playing pikachu", how bad that sounds ? ).

The only thing I didn't like is the tone of the movie, one scene it's a movie for 5 years old, next scene Pikachu and Tim are threatening to burn Mr. Mime alive.

Very good world building. But not enough diversity in the pokemons, if you've seen the trailer, you've seen 3/4 of them.

Which ones weren't in the trailers?

>could have been an epic fail
Want to know how I know you're a shill?

How is it for people with little to no Pokemon knowledge? I'm broadly aware of the pokemon setting but have yet to actually play one myself, never owned a nintendo handheld before the switch. If I take my mum to see it will it be comfy or will she be bewildered and lost?

You don't need to be a pokemon nerd to enjoy the movie. As long as you know what are pokemon.

I really like how detailed the pokeworld is. Wasn't really into the plot but it's okay for a pokemon movie. The world they built make me want to see more of it.

Saw it too. I liked the designs for the Pokémons.
Would've perferred it more if they threw that detective crap out and made it about pokemon battles. Or if they remade Mewtwo strikes back in live action with new protagonists.
The girl was cute. But the audience in the theatre were totally into the cute as fuck Pokémons, espacially the girls couldn't stop oohing and ahhing.

Is it Pikino?

A proper pokemon movie as in trainer focus intrigue wouldn't work for a first movie because you may lose non pokemon fan. A detective story don't need any prior knowledge of the pokemon universe to work but going forward why not.

Do you suck dicks?

Any torrents yet?

How many fart jokes are in it?

One.

Guess i'm not paying for it.

very cool shill thread

xdddd le EBIC PRANK BRO

I honestly liked it, though. It's not something on the level of Goonies, but it hits all the sweet spots for me as a member of the audience.

For those that have seen it, is it better or worse than Alita?

Actually, I am. Digital looks terrible for the most part. I don't want to sound like too much of a snob, though, so I'll just leave it at that. I will emphasize that I had fun with the film, even if the story development is super predictable.

Togepi comes to mind, Ditto and Totodile too. Octillery is there in the background... like so many others. This is the kind of movie you can freeze frame and find details in the background.

How's that virginity going ?

I don't know why there were so many Charmanders but I honestly want more. Also, the Charizard trainer being over protective of his Pokemon was kinda ... subversive. You usually have those kind of guys be asshole trainers, but he seemed to genuinely love his Charizard.

So who is Detective Pikachu, why can the kid hear him and where is his dad?

The Pikachu is his dad.

So, Bill from Pokemon Red/Blue in the movie basically? I'm guessing at least, Bill's machine that turned people into Pokemon still exists. Does Pikachu transform/switch bodies with his father again? Also does his father look like Ryan Reynolds? Is it some black guy with Reynold's voice? Pretty weird cause Justice Smith looks mad biracial.[/spoilers]

Manchild: The Movie

Mewtwo did it. He becomes human again in the end and is played by Ryan Reynolds

Name all Pokémon that appeared, that you can remember (not including ones from the trailers)

So I'm guessing his mom is black? Is she hot? Kind of funny, Reynolds is an ultra chad given human form and Justice Smith is the biracial Steve Urkel, there's no resemblance in the slightest. They could have at least picked a better looking lead actor.

She's dead. We only see her on photos.

I watched all of it anyways
