Yet every their step is utter fail, and every single thing achieved throughout the entire movie was only because of Max.

4 wymen can't overpower one max
They don't know how to conserve water
They lose one preggo because of impossible stupidity (in the meantime the baddy bad bad was willing to sacrifice his life in an effort to save the preggo)
Next, they found out the last green garden is a fucking mutant filled swamp because of a bunch of old hags who ribbed it
And their plan is to ditch the rig and just ride into the unknown in hopes of finding a place
And the best part, when those wymen take over Joe fortress, they immediately give out all the water without thinking where it goes from and what if it's limited.
Oh and when their neighbours (gastown and bulletcity ) find out what's happened there's going to be so much killing and rape.

Watch it again. It's a gem.

the best female characters in the movie were still nurturing and maternal, including Furiosa.

Aside from it being one of the best action movies of this decade, it's because you could interpret it both ways, if you're a raging feminist, it's a story about women smashing the patriarchy, but if you look deeper, the women would be fucked without Max, and immortan being in control was better for his people, since in a minute they wasted all the water, and "power to the people" will only result in the whole society that barely existed ceasing to do so, since gives what, it's a lawless wasteland.

There's really nothing unusual or unique about the dynamic between Max and Furiosa
It's a familiar situation with the stoic action hero who is a constant sort of vehicle for the narrative vs his foil who is in a state of character development so the character acts more as a poignant but fleeting case study
If you want to visualize it like a graph Max is a steady line going through the middle and Furiosa is a single sharp peak
The character just happens to be female but there's nothing there that suggests any overabundance of pandering it's just adept story telling working as it's intended
