I find him pretty overrated to be honest. His movies are watchable but they don't serve as anything profound. I think he's become a bit of a meme director for his gangster flicks. Something like Goodfellas is a decent watch, but even that movie had a shitty uninteresting ending.

UNIRONICALLY

Scorsese is a better and more important director in the 21st century than the 20th. His style is far more unique, his technical talent is unmatched. His films are more varied and entertaining. Not relying on Deniro as a crutch turned him into the genius filmmaker he always could have been

I'm not saying he's a bad director, or that I don't even enjoy some of his movies. I'm just saying that I don't think his movies have anything profound to say beyond violence, greed, and a hollow perception of Christianity.
