the 3 short movies are actually pretty good, think all 3 are on netflix now. the first one the 3d animation is kinda wonky but they improve a lot in the second and third.
the 2d in all 3 is amazing though. I would highly recommend checking them out. under no circumstance should you watch the anime.

no the boat is long over. those were some dark times. casca is normal again but she hasn't talked to guts yet because as soon as she got normal the author decided we needed to see some bullshit that was going on with griffith.
also griffith got slapped by rickert. one of the most satisfying things to date in the manga. im missing a bunch but I would recommend not reading until the author is dead and we know that the manga is over. so whatever chapter he gets to before he dies is what we have as an ending.
