Also the fact that some trailers now have events and sequences that are NOT in the movie; this should be grounds for false advertisement. I'm not talking about editing footage from the movie to make you think something happens or doesn't, I'm talking about footage and sequences that do not exist at all in the full film and exist only in the trailer.

Depends what you mean by "Compete with endgame." It will be the first real weekend competition for endgame and it will probably even win. But Legendary would be over the moon if Detective Pikachu managed to make half of what Endgame does. It's hard to predict the gross, but I would guess somewhere between $650-850 million.

I fucking hate the concept for this movie so much. Just look at it. Ryan Rynolds as Pikachu. It looks like a punchline. It is dystopian, and it is exactly the opposite of Pokemon's characteristic wholesomeness.
Besides, all of the Pokemon look ugly as hell. I don't get why peopled whined about Sonic and are perfectly ok with that shit.
