That's what everyone says and the answer is no. Most kaiju movie human scenes are shit but they have B movie charm and often include zany faeries or aliens or time travel or robots or fairy alien time traveling robots. They aren't B actors reciting capeshit quips in front of greens screens.

It looks like it'll be an okay movie but the lingering audience ill will from 2014 and the release date being so close to Avengers + Aladdin + the final season of GOT, means it'll bomb. Popular culture will be too preoccupied with all the other shiny stuff on display to notice this movie.

Definitely that as well, but Godzilla was filmed to be enjoyed on the big screen. The large movie theater really only exists now for the spectacle, which this movie is. Lets just hope they learned from the criticisms of the first movie.
