The battle of Winterfell would have been better if instead of an hour long battle, the NK just absolutely steamrolls Winterfell. Just a no contest slaughter. The bulk of the episode should have been Jon and Dany evacuating as many people as they can. At this point the survivors realize that the game doesn't matter, and the throne doesn't matter so they just bend the knee to cersei so they can have one last ditch effort. Maybe have Jamie kill Cersei if she decides to just lock them out. Or maybe have Cersei get killed by the army of the dead so she can see what a horrible mistake she made

That's part of the tragedy of her character, and the writing in the show does not portray that in any way, and no I'm not saying she doesn't slowly go mad over the course of things, but you're also telling a teenage girl (again originally) that her destiny is to take Westeros by force with Dragons and that people die.

It's a little girl thrown into a very big world with no real knowledge of things as people around her that she loves keeps dying or betraying her. It's understandable how she slowly goes mad and eventually just lets it all out and her emotions turn to anger and rage. Hell a lot of us have been down that road. Doesn't stop the show from having poor writing and pacing which is what is hurting these final two seasons and the character changes.

After how they handled the Long Night, I don't think it's possible for this show to recover. However, it's still worth following- the tumblr/twitter shitstorm that will erupt after Jon kills Daenerys will be second only to Trump being elected POTUS

I support Stannis because he has a better claim than Joffrey or Renly. He isn't Azor Ahai, not even in the books, he's going to die regardless but hopefully GRRM will kill him off in a way consistent with his character.
