Will anything rival GoT's popularity again? This show is everywhere, no matter where in the world you are. Could we be experiencing something we'll never witness again?

>Will anything rival GoT's popularity again?
Yes.
>Could we be experiencing something we'll never witness again?
No.

Hopefully the next big hit will be good.

my videodiary desu

The series finale will create so much asshurt, it will make Sopranos' finale look like a fart in space.

how did she get so ugly so fast?

would impregnate in this pic

I want to cum on her tummy desu

Hoping it's the material I am sitting on now, phew!

The Stannis stand alone series will.

Comparing games of shit to a masterpiece like sopranos.

It will be good initially and then the normies will become enthralled and it'll get dumbed down to appeal to the masses.

Last season of Sopranos was terrible. So much that it brought down the entire series a good notch.

i dont think we'll see another huge show like GoT for another 5 years. it doesn't really matter all that much, once shows get that popular they pretty much always turn to shit.
i think the only current show right now that has potential to be the next big hit is the expanse.

Of course, society is addicted to that shit, it doesn't matter what it is, they just need something to gather their friends and to talk about on the internet.

she looks like she has a wig on at all times,

fake blondes you need to colour your fucking eyebrows and eyelashes ffs.

how is this shit popular again? sub 90 iq

Hello R*ddit

Breaking Bad was bigger in it's prime than GoT

GoT got dumbed down by season 2. Sopranos actually became more ambitious as it grew in popularity. Blame D&D, not the normies.

not even close

What the fuck

Every single fucking normie know about BB in my country and for every Winter merch there were 10 of the Heisenberg drawing and "Say my name"
Same when I was in England as a student in 2014

The thing is, the actual story, and I mean in the books before they had to write their own garbage, is actually pretty good. AND THEN you had the shock of what would normally be main characters be killed, multiple times. And it was shocking and normies loved it.

But that was nearly a decade ago. Everyone does is now. It's not even shocking anymore. Like when Kate Mara got pushed in front of that subway car people just were like "Yeah, Game of Thrones". It doesn't have the same shock value it did.

Also when it started out it was billed as "Sopranos with swords" and for about three seasons it actually WAS, so it brought in a lot of people who wanted that. And then as they started to add magic and elves and skeletons and stuff in some of those people left but a lot stayed to get closure and then more and more normies started flooding in every season and it just turned into the most popular show on earth.

It's hard to recreate the conditions. Hopefully the Next Big Thing will have much better writing.

It would still look wrong, it just doesn’t match her facial features

Jesus you are delusional. I don't even like GoT but its bigger than BB by multiple factors of magnitude. It's a cultural phenomenon. Everyone watches it.

objectively correct

Pfft.. the show pales in comparison to the Sopranos on almost every level

I miss Lost

Dont think popularity was to blame here, just the writers losing their connection to the source material and losing the graces of its author. Not to say the source material was amazing, but its alot better than what we got.

That was 2014. GoT is talked about in England as one of the greatest programmes ever (it's not) probably has something with the fact that 80% of the cast is British. GoT is the biggest television show ever to exist.

>Will anything rival it's popularity?
Sopranos reruns

sopranos last season wasn't great but the show itself will always be a benchmark for television quality

They'll find another cow to milk. Media companies seem to be fold of making money for whatever reason.

Game of Thrones wasn't even big until 2013, unless it's because of where I live. I haven't heard of it until then.

It was a slow starter yes. It became big based on word of mouth, not direct matketing.

Is this your first successful TV show? It will disappear within a month after it's released. If the creators are really desperate, they will try to make a "Better call Soul"-level side story that no one will watch, and that's it.

Never heard of it

MCU is more popular.

Is it popular? Because the internet says so?

watch it user

Hopefully next time they can hire hack writers to create a show based on good FINISHED source material.

The biggest tragedy of this show was GRRMs writers block running out of material.

How do you come up with half of such an amazing set up only to brain fart the rest. I mean, at least give it a shot. The fat fuck is literally petrified of ruining his legacy, but the show already killed it for him.

Nope. Only zoomers care about that shit. Each new GoT episode is a social event.

Black mirror couldv'e done it but Netflix shit the bed once they bought it.

Kino is dead.
Until the fascist revolution all you're going to get is Jewish capeshit and Jewish diversity dramas.

Big hits like GOT tend to cause writing to suffer. Other writers try to emulate things and pander to try to capture lightening in a bottle. Case in point: Lost.

I just wanna be Dany's cumslave guys

D&D's Star Wars tv show will surpass it

>GoT is the biggest television show ever to exist
You're a fool. M*A*S*H's series finale had 100 million viewers just in the United States. Miami Vice flamed out rather quickly but at its peak in was bigger than GoT. I'm unsure if Dallas or Dynasty were bigger.

GoT gets 17 million viewers in the US, and ER used to average 30 million every night.

Why didn't you protect his smile, Yea Forums?

This. It’s going to be the normie Evangelion.

Not even close, the Simpsons is bigger although it's been dead for a long time

Thing is that GoT is massive worldwide. Those shows you mentioned were just popular in America. Also viewership becomes hard to measure due to ease of piracy and delayed streaming.

Did it go bad? Only saw series 1

>GoT is the biggest television show ever to exist.

I think so, you should see it for yourself though.

Probably weed Bloat like Sansa and Arya desu.

Weed puffs up women like a balloon

TV is dead and tho, and everyone outside of the US is streaming / torrenting it

It's at least in the top 5
Friends
Simpsons
Breaking bad
Sopranos
GOT

Would be my guesses

LOST was a superior show in every way.

Lost is nothing but melodrama and empty promises (much like GOT)

>.uk
into the garbage with you and your pathetic irrelevant paki infested island

I noticed a lot of Netflix shows are shit and i don't want to waste my time with them. I didn't think series 1 was all that anyway.

Fair enough.

Netflix is the dumping ground of trash.

In 20 years Ill still remember shows like Deadwood, the shield, and the wire.

Ill forget GoT as will everyone else, its garbage

I’ve thought about this too. It feels like the industry is too saturated now with 7.5/10 level shows that grow loyal fanbases that claim it’s the best thing on tv. Walking dead felt like it was the top dog initially until it was dethroned by GoT once it circulated enough. I personally started watching thrones just before the beginning of the second season after my friend raved about it to me and finally all the memes everywhere made sense. Couple that with the release of Skyrim and medieval fantasy made its mark on the zeitgeist for the next 10 years. Zombie shit was still prevalent obviously. No one can take away the viewers that TWD acquired and the fact that it’s on basic cable is huge. But that show now ironically feels like a zombie itself limping on waiting to be put out of its misery. At least thrones has the balls to bow out now that they realized they aren’t good enough to continue without GRRM. But another show that captivates audiences on the levels of these two? I really don’t know. I can’t even picture what itd be. Kinda hoping black sails sets will get recycled and we get some more pirate kino. Even the success of the terror showed it’s possible to have an all white male cast still. I love seafaring stories. Maybe a master and commander series.

GoT is only comparatively more watched than other shows on "TV" now though. Even the most watched episodes are nowhere close in viewership to the most watched episodes of past shows.

The last season was fine. You're dumb and gay.

Nobody watches traditional TV anymore. It's all streaming for normalfags and torrents for neets/third-worlders.

Yea Forums isn't real life. People still overwhelmingly watch shit like GoT on their television.

Of course. Society is always looking for something big. Star Wars, Harry Potter, GoT, reality TV in general etc etc

LOST was bigger, and just like LOST the hype ended in total disappointment.

The Watchmen could do it if they tried.

I haven’t watched a single episode of this show, and I don’t intend on ever doing so.

Attached: B0A51CD6-5F2D-4F65-A8A0-D4BE273515E2.png (420x420, 7K)

im not gonna say you missed out on something cause who am I? but it was a fun ride to be part of, especially the first half. Despite the hate the last few seasons got I think it remained good enough for me to not feel like sunk cost and a chore to finish.

i fucking wish, but no

GOT is bigger

>Thing is that GoT is massive worldwide
Yes, by your metrics then Baywatch is the biggest show ever not GoT.

Imagine been this wrong

holy shit what is this anime fuckin hentai dress shes got on here hnnnnnnng

>Seafaring stories

HBO should just do a TV series of William Golding's A Sea Trilogy. Could make for some excellent television.

I barely made it through the first season of Sopranos. Please explain the appeal.

wait til they adapt animorphs

I haven't watched one episode of this show and I don't know many people who give a shit about it.

t. italy

How in the FUCK are they going to do this?
>multiple unreliable narrators, each with a different style (Croaker as a war-chronicler, Lady as a self-centered schemer, Murgen as a confused philosopher/time skipper),
>a lot of plot has to be done through omission and subtle hints,
>how magic works should never, ever be explained,
>kill off 99% of the cast, replace them, then kill them too, rinse and repeat

TWD was bigger in its prime. Even GoT's current ratings can't hold a candle to 2013-2015 TWD.

as long as they throw in unnecessary sex scenes, i'm in

>GoT is the biggest television show ever to exist.

It's an X-rated high fantasy premium cable show. Just by its very nature it could never have the mass appeal of more family friendly and simple television like Seinfeld or MASH.

Yes it's very popular for an HBO show and has a passionate worldwide following, and the internet obsesses over it like nothing else, but it's still not even close to being the biggest show ever.

Nah, its popular despite all those things you listed.

It's not even Seinfeld tier

Season 4 was alot dumber. By then it felt like sopranos. ''Lets bring in the new charcter guy for the new season'' like oberynn etc. I know he's in the books but it took you out and you realised it's a hbo formula tv show you're watching...

GoT facebook likes: 23 million
TBBT: 31 million
TWD facebook likes: 35 million

yikes, so much for "biggest show ever"

It's because one was on basic cable and the other is the most pirated show in existence since it was on a premium channel

yikes

These massive/near universally watched hits are rarer because of greater options sure but no, it won't be last time we see something this popular. Might take a few years but something else will come along - hopefully something that doesn't decline so drastically.

Thank fuck HBO fucked off GRRMs request for 13 seasons - can you imagine the filler and how bad the pandering to reddit/current year would get if this shitshow was extended into 2024?

Wow she definitely peaked there.

TWD was the most popular at FBs peak, when people actually bothered to like shows.
Go on reddit and see which one has more subs or twitter and what cast has more followers.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace II

She was something like 24 when cast, so already about 3-4 years past prime (but still pretty) and ripe and ready to hit the wall even if she didn't end up having strokes.

Most of the characters were cast with actors and actresses far older than they should have been. If Emilia had been cast when she was same age as Dany, she'd be ending the series looking how she looked in S1. Unfortunately she doesn't have the genetics some have (Cera, De Haan) where they look like they're in teens even they they're coming on 40.

In book:

Dany 13/14
Arya 8ish
Jon/Robb 14ish
Jaime/Ned/Robert/Cersei/Cat/ late or mid 30s

Not if the fat fuck actually finished the books for a change

Yup. TWD, despite ongoing viewers, has ZERO cultural relevance.

The competition between the two was absolutely ridiculous in early season as GoT was genuine quality, and largely true to source material (even difficult shit in terms of character deaths/mutilations) while Walking Dead had an awesome pilot followed by a meh S1 and immediately went to endless filler/cop outs after that (I gave up on it when they accidentally made The Guvnor the most sympathetic character and were too cowardly to show him raping Michionne and cutting off Rick's shooting hand).

Yeah if he provided expected quality source material and Dabid maintained the pacing/quality from S1-4 they could have done 13 seasons although aging actors/actresses would be a huge problem.

>Will anything rival GoT's popularity again?
Yes lol. GoT is not overly popular. It is just the big thing right now. Every now and then a show, movie, or cultural phenomena comes along which becomes the main "water cooler" talk for some time. Before GoT it was probably Sopranos. Or Avatar. Or Titanic. There will certainly be another series that receives this level of attention, if not greater, because it seems our culture is increasingly dependent on entertainment media as the only thing we have in common. Seriously, without MCU and GoT, Americans have nothing in common.

Attached: badda bing.jpg (1000x939, 65K)

same, and i think it is for harry potter and lord of rings retards
t. argentina

>implying it is the most popular show to ever exist
lmao nobody watches this shit

>Americans have nothing in common.

Fuck you for forgetting our burgers, dumb europoors.

shee looks like she fucks black guys in pic

Sauce?

Explains why no one cares about your media lmao

>ZERO cultural relevance

- tons of merchandise
- has a Universal Studios tour
- has been parodied and referenced throughout pop culture
- Negan is in Tekken now
- brought back the zombie craze which is STILL lingering on

It's way past its prime but saying it has no cultural relevance is just you being ignorant

probably doesnt since normies here watch that shit, i dont. Also, no media is getting anywhere if not from USA or UK (rare already)

Zombies never went away, zombieland came out like a year or two before it and resident evil was still making millions at the box office.
