How do you go from making Infinity War to Endgame? My main gripe is the storytelling, Infinity War was groundbreaking, top notch, technically great filmmaking. Endgame was just... a longer-than average Marvel film. Nothing about the story stands out, and the time travel in the movie is so poorly written that the directors and writers are arguing about how it works. Infinity War felt like a grand epic adventure story for Thanos and everyone got plenty of good character moments. Endgame proceeded to shit on established characters and ruin the final outing for a lot of the main cast.

I think it would have been better if Thanos, the one they thought in IW, was allowed to life after Nebula pitied him and beg for his life and he basically had a B Plot throughout the film of gathering what remains of his army, building himself back up, etc. once he figures out they are planning to undo his work. So Thanos is a looming threat throughout the film and the one that has more of a connection to the heroes because he fought them all throughout IW. Someone had a good suggestion that he murders Nebula cause she somehow accidentally makes me aware of what the Avengers are doing and then harvests her parts so he can have a functioning, strong left arm again. Would make his 'It would be a waste of parts!' line to her in IW have a bit more meaning in retrospect desu.
Endgame was a nice conclusion but Infinity War really was the better film, just better pacing, screentime for characters, tension, action and IW Thanos was a legitimately good villain with presence, who wasn't just some cardboard cutout plot device like a lot of Marvel villains. Too many powerful characters had to be nerfed or brushed over, Thor and Hulk are strong enough but Strange and Captain Marvel are too much.
Someone who's familiar with the comics...
Is Carol legitimately stronger than Thor and Hulk? Don't know much about her stories, but I've seen some of the stuff Hulk and Thor have done in the comics and it certainly outclasses what I've seen of Captain Marvel.
Because they didn't care about making a good movie this time. It was already guaranteed that people would watch it, so why bother putting any effort in? Just throw in a bunch of fan service and call it a day.
>Infinity War was groundbreaking, top notch, technically great filmmaking
6/10 at most. Don't delude yourself faggot.
Endgame was designed as a pure money maker.
Spend money and hook' em with quality with IW, dial back the budget and ride the hype the first film generated to maximize profits with Endgame.
Not him. For the genre, it was way above average. Even for a blockbuster in general.
See how the theme of sacrifice was kept coherent, compare it TLJ, as an example.
I unironically thought that Endgame was better. People underrate Mad Titan Thanos. Seeing a guy who already knows he's going to fail is always cool to see. And if that was the Cap and Iron Man moments that really sealed the deal.
>Strange is too strong
They literally took away his greatest weapon
>Infinity War was groundbreaking, top notch, technically great filmmaking.
BIG YIKES
I’m a cape shitter and IW >EG (except that kino fight scene)
>Seeing a guy who already knows he's going to fail is always cool to see
Did we watch the same movie? The future he sees is him having already succeeded.
I thought there would be more space scenes celestials, etc. it was just a lot of talking, time travel and then a cgi battle that lasted about ten minutes. Pretty dumb. And all avengers but iron man and captain America got cucked.
I am I meant IW is better than the average. EG is messy. Not bad, but messy.
Question: where the fuck were the Sovereign in all of this?
Also is Xandar all destroyed, or just half?
But he knows that the avengers will go reverse it anyways. And he deducted that there will be large portions that will never move on. His kill half the universe plan didn't have the desired effect in his eyes.
He needed to be way hammier than that
He and his one buddy opened some several dozen giant intergalactic portals, he's a master wizard with ass pull potential beyond all reason, he was stupidly nerfed.
The movie should have been give another year and split into two parts. They probably rushed.
...but user, that's exactly what they did. What do you think Endgame was?
Okay faggots which one do I download
Maybe if you just count MCU
Name 5 better blockbusters of comparable genre.
Not super-hero, anything fantasy, sci-fi, high concept, and so on.
see how many came out the last 10 years.
*not only super-hero, sorry
Might aswell wait for the bluray or webrip
Endgame had more propagandizing from disney
>Infinity War was groundbreaking, top notch, technically great filmmaking
Low quality bait.
who he is a faggot shouldnt call others faggot
Even from a contrarian stand point IW was just the better movie. Too much dumb shit in EG reduces the score for me. I consider EG to be “fun” while IW is legit a great block buster. Again I’m not gonna be a fag screaming about muh plot holes in EG but it’s messy as fuck compared to IW.
>way above average
Come on, it's not better than Winter Soldier or the first Iron Man. Sure, IW works wonders as a "series finale part one" experience, but as a standalone movie, the MCU have better entries. Hell, I don't even think it surpasses the first Avengers movie or GotG 1, simply because the MCU manages the campy shit a lot better than the drama. Even things like the action/fight choreography, or dialogue (particularly the "jokes") worked better in previous installments.
Maybe sfx in IW were above average for the MCU, I'll give you that (not that hard, they've been overall pretty cheap, haven't they?) Oh and also I think it had better cinematography. The movie looks better than the previous ones for the most part. But that's it.
>the theme of sacrifice was kept coherent
internal coherence and consistency are basic requirements in storytelling. I understand capeshit is regarded as "special" (as in "retarded") nonetheless it shouldn't get praise just for having a goddamn baseline.
