What were the writers even thinking with Gendry last episode?
First of all, they got his name wrong. He's an unacknowledged bastard so he should not have a surname. But then he goes and calls himself "Gendry Rivers", despite being from King's Landing (so his surname, if he had one, would be Waters). How did this line even make it into the final cut? Do they not have people proof-reading this shit?
Secondly, putting an illiterate blacksmith in charge of the Stormlands is fucking daft. Plus they seem to think that lordship of a kingdom is something that can just be given out like candy (they did it with Bronn and Riverrun/the Reach too). Each of these kingdoms all have a number of powerful lords who govern their own land so it's silly to assume they will just happily accept being ruled by some random person they have never met before. They could have at least appointed Davos as his adviser or something to make it a bit less ridiculous.
Thirdly, they finally acknowledged that literally no-one knows who the current lord of the Stormlands is. There is an entire kingdom that has essentially been thrown into anarchy and they just make a stupid joke about it instead of actually answering the question that they have asked (they did a similar thing when Sansa asked how they were going to feed Dany's army).
Also, Dany legitimising Gendry technically means he is now in front of Dany in the line of succession to the Iron Throne. Considering how much she sperged out at Jon, it seems weird that she wouldn't even consider this.
That's all true, except for your last point. If you acknowledge he's been legitimized you have to acknowledge her authority to do so in the first place. This show is a fucking joke

The last point wasn't a major issue, although the fact that the writers literally don't know Gendry's surname is a fucking disgrace.
Kayden Clark
Audience wouldn't know the difference between rivers and waters, and since we haven't heard of any Waters' they changed it to Rivers just to dumb it down. Like every other fine detail from the books they have chosen to ignore
Ethan Rivera
Thank goodness there are no other lords left to argue about lordship, or it would be plain irresponsible to give major strategic keeps to the likes of bronn and gendry

the writers are idiots. I dont mean that as an insult, I mean that they are really intellectually stupid.

Mason Scott
He started calling himself Gendry Rivers after he fled King's Landing to help hide his true identity. When he says "I'm not Gendry Rivers anymore" it's an inside joke between him and Arya.
Lincoln Scott
Why the fuck is bronn fine with accepting jaime and tyrions word, why does he take their word when they have zero power, what stops them just killing him after everything
Joseph Cooper
What are Jaime or Tyrion going to do about it? Bronn has that crossbow and neither Jaime or Tyrion know you can attack someone while they reload a crossbow.

>OP doesn't know how Rivers works yikes
Gabriel Mitchell
it was a semi-automatic crossbow. after bronn fired it, there were 2 more arrows already loaded. he could have still shot them both after firing the warning shot.

what happened to the hammer? did hound gave it back?
>(they did a similar thing when Sansa asked how they were going to feed Dany's army). That's happened a bunch of times actually and I'm sick of it. It's just pointlessly stringing along drama and one of the reasons these 2 hour episodes have 45 minutes of content
