Dany was always at her best when she showed some vulnerability, Emilia can actually sell those moments. She's not believable at all when she makes her autistic angry speeches, but she's pretty good in quiet, more emotional moments.

Dany in the last episode was pretty much Dany in S1 when almost everyone liked her. Nobody thought she was annoying when she was eating the horse heart, standing up to her cunt of a brother or watching him get killed. That's because those moments were badass AND earned, she was also showing weakness and vulnerability in that season. People started hating her when she turned into a Mary Sue who always won by using her dragons ex machina. Turning her a bit mad was honestly the best decision D&D made for her character. She's finally interesting and sympathetic again.
